I have installed fedora ver 10 on my PC. The issue is that my mouse does not work once i login, it hardly works for 5-10 mins and then does not respond, however system does not get hung. I am using USB optical mouse. Please help me in fixing the issue.

It would be nice if I could skip back in Nautilus too, but it doesn't work. (Alt+LeftArrow & Alt+RightArrow as keybord equivalent) Is there a possibility to use this buttons in Nautilus too?

View 2 Replies View RelatedGot myself in a bit of a squeeze here. I was messing around with the Xorg install on my Fedora 12 system. I ended up reinstalling it. Now my mouse and keyboard work fine in single user mode / terminal. But if I try and boot to X they dont work at the login screen. HAL and udev are booting. Ive done a udevadm monitor test in single user mode and its seeing the devices connect and disconnect. Ive also tried both USB and PS2 devices. Same issue. Ive tried playing with xorg.conf and generating it with Xorg -configure :1 I dont know to use to fix it. After banging my head against the wall for 20+ hours I decided it was time to ask for help. m just Lynxing around the web at the moment =X

I push the buttons on my mouse and the button on the dongle to try and get them to pair, but, the dongle does not work. It is not scanning when I push the connect button.I unplug the usb dongle, and plug it in again, and this time I am able to pair them, and the mouse works. But, I have to do this every time I reboot which is a pain. I found that in the previous kernel, The Bloothtooh package is 4.91-1, but it has been upgrade to 4.91-2. So, this is creating the problem.
When I'm using Nautilus, I've found (for years) that I've had to hit Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V or Del multiple times until the commands would register. I noticed this occurs when the mouse is moving. I've looked under System > Preferences but can't find anything. Is there a key in gconf or something that I can disable?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I start firefox the mouse seems captured by it.I can use the mouse inside the firefox screen (change tabs, use menu, select/paste) but not anywhere else. Even if a popup appears (site wants to register a cookie) then I can only use the keyboard to "ok" it. alt-tab to another window is not possible.Using the mouse in the gome-panel won't work.I can get the mouse pointer anywhere on the screen but mouse clicks don't seem to register. I've had this problem before on 10.04 and the only thing that worked then was to create a new useraccount (a lot of hassle).
edit: The window manager also won't react to the mouse so closing the firefox window is not possible using the windowmanager buttons(X - 0)It's also not limited to Firefox,after I closed firefox via it's menu and then started a gnome-terminal the mouse was caught in that. After closing the gnome-terminal and restarting firefox it degraded even further in that the mouse would'nt even work in the window itself anymore.Only a reboor would reset the problem.
When I start ubuntu I can't use my mouse and keyboard. It works in a second when the log in screen appears but then it freeze. It works in bios, grub and safe mode. I use mx518 and ace kl 400.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIm running debian lenny amd_64, but I have another machine here that also runs the 32 bit os, also have a friend who is trying to get this to work to o on ubuntu amd_64. Long story short wed like to play some quake 2, I tried to run it under wine with no success, and why run it with emulation(or the likes) when it was ported to linux. Anyway with some painstaking effort I have got it to run if I run it with the software X11 rendering it runs but the graphics are squished, and only take up the left half of the screen but the MOUSE DOES WORK just fine.
I am able to run it now in the other rendering glx, soft, but when I run it everything works graphics look great, but the MOUSE DOES NOT WORK at all. Ive seen some things saying that gpm maybe locking it and I need to shut it down, that being said I cant find out how to shut it down for debian or ubuntu or evidence that its even running in the processes of my system, I've tried killing the gnome manager but I still have the same problem.
I've also tried the icculus port, and the installers, but both seem to FUBAR quake 2, and were a pain in the ass to even compile. I've been able to get the id version running just fine with other than this hiccup.
Ive also heard I may need to chmod the mouse device file if so where is it?
How do I stop GPM on a debian/ubuntu system? If you know this is not the problem, what do I need to do to get the mouse to work?
Wheres the mouse device file so I can Chmod it? If all else fails how do I get the gfx to not screw up when using softx?
I have been trying to install Xubuntu 9.10 in an old desktop computer (Mobile AMD Duron, 213 Mb RAM) but the mouse doesn't work! Neither the Network connexion... When I boot with an USB (same OS) everything works fine... I can also boot with Puppy Linux (working in other partition) without any problem.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter booting up my pc, sometimes it loads, and then my mouse freezes and i am unable to do anything at all. keyboard doesnt work either. Causing me to do a restart. when starting my pc, i get the ubuntu splash screen and then it jumps to a black screen with: "desktop login" after i out in my log in it asks for the password, i put that in and get "Weclome to Ubuntu etc" (forgot all the words, but its some statement welcoming me to ubuntu. The i get "tim@tim-desktop: $" but this is all on a black screen. Only way to get past this is to reboot my pc. and then it loads properly.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI (finally!) have Mythtv working under 10.04. I use the Haupaugge DVB-T card with its remote. Whilst setting up the kit this worked OK. When I unplugged the keyboard and mouse the system prior to installing it next to the TV appeared to have stopped responding to the remote. In fact it seems to be responding to a number of the remote keys but not the OK and Go keys which isn't enough to run Mythtv.
I don't think leaving a keyboard & mouse plugged in is going to be domestically acceptable.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to restore lirc functionality?
Everything worked fine in Kubuntu 10.04 (64-bit). On the upgrade to 10.10 (64-bit) it takes about a minute until I can move the mouse after startup and the integrated memory card reader doesn't work (but the green LED which used to only come on when there was a card in there is now always on). This has been discussed twice before: here (closed and solved by unplugging cardreader which I do not want to do) and here (unsolved but closed as maverick no longer in beta) dmesg (note the errer -110) follows. Let me know if I can/should include any other logs/info!

I got myself a shiny M305 Logitech mouse for my laptop. It comes with a littlee USB wireless dongle. When I plug in the dongle, DMESG shows me that the system notices the dongle:

THE PROBLEM : gnome 3 freeze sometimes, the PC is freeze (the mouse doesn't move when i move the mouse. I must power down my PC for re-activate it. I want to shift to gnome 2 (i think gnome3 is excellent but it don't work) but it seems to be impossible. What i can do ? Does-it exist some combinaisons (like ctl+alt+suppr on windows) for keep the control ?
Picked up a Linkskey KVM (LKU-UA02) from my brother for free, thought I'd put it to use. Works fine but after switching between each machine once, the keyboard/mouse does not work. Tried unplugging the device(s) and the KVM itself from each machine but no luck.Not a huge issue, but it would be nice to use the KVM (right now I have to use VNC to get a similar effect).

View 2 Replies View Relatedrecently i tried to install for the first time and everything booted up fine but when i got to the post install configuration my mouse and keyboard don't work! after that one time whenever i try to load linux it just sits at the boot screen where the colored bar goes left to right and has fedora text in the bottom right corner. i don't know if this matters or not but i'm dual booting with windows XP also i tried using a live cd of fedora 11 it always boots up to the login however just like above i can't use my mouse or keyboard for that one either.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung N130 with a Realtek 8192 wifi card (possibly 8192e, I'm not sure) and I am trying to run Fedora 12 on it. I used to run Ubuntu until trying their latest beta and realizing it's not very good, so I looked for something else. Ubuntu was at least easy to get the wifi working with just a few quick commands that were written out, word for word, in order, on the Ubuntu forums. I tried openSUSE on here and it didn't have wifi working out of the box either but people on their forums refused to give me actual instructions and just kept bumping me from thread to thread with people giving vague advice or else just telling me I was looking in the wrong place. I'm hoping that someone can give me clear and detailed instructions on how to get this wifi card working. Keep in mind that I am coming from Ubuntu and so I'm not super comfortable in CLI, if I need to do some CL stuff I will need clear and detailed instructions on how to do that.
