I have a 5 button mouse and the 4th and 5th buttons are useful for skipping back or forwards while surfing with Firefox. It would be nice if I could skip back in Nautilus too, but it doesn't work. (Alt+LeftArrow & Alt+RightArrow as keybord equivalent) Is there a possibility to use this buttons in Nautilus too?
View 6 RepliesI installed a fresh copy of 11.04 which worked fine until you first login and then the left mouse button fails to work so I can't left click anything. The right ones is fine? this worked fine on 10 and for the 11.04 installer.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to FC14 (64) from FC13 (32) and the mouse middle button (simultaneous left+right button) paste function has stopped working. I tested it with 3 makes/models of different mice and trackballs. For some reason (left+right) mouse returns the same code as the single right-button ('xev' value = 3). This worked in all previous FC and RH distros I've used in the past. Did a default setting get zonked somewhere? System: Toshiba laptop w/ USB mouse.

Got myself in a bit of a squeeze here. I was messing around with the Xorg install on my Fedora 12 system. I ended up reinstalling it. Now my mouse and keyboard work fine in single user mode / terminal. But if I try and boot to X they dont work at the login screen. HAL and udev are booting. Ive done a udevadm monitor test in single user mode and its seeing the devices connect and disconnect. Ive also tried both USB and PS2 devices. Same issue. Ive tried playing with xorg.conf and generating it with Xorg -configure :1 I dont know to use to fix it. After banging my head against the wall for 20+ hours I decided it was time to ask for help. m just Lynxing around the web at the moment =X

Everything worked perfectly fine, networking included, until my friend didn't accidently turned off the wireless by pressing a wireless button on the laptop. I use it as a headless server and the power button had always worked.at first, I updated from 10.04 to 10.10 and everything was working great but I decided to reinstall the os on a new HDD. then when I want to shutdown the server, I need to login with ssh and shutdown it with "halt -p", the power button doesn't do anything. I started with Arch but 4 hours later, I'll take anything so now I'm trying Ubuntu.It appears that the keyboard function button that corresponds to my wireless does not work, and perhaps is windows dependent?Every time I try to interact with wlan0, I get the error "Operation not possible due to RF-kill". And as I've looked around online, it has been suggested in other forums that the only way to resolve this is to reinstall windows and dual boot, so the FN key will work.
I think this is ridiculous. There must be a way to persuade the RF-kill to be turned off again, shouldn't there?I don't have a recover disk for this laptop and I don't want to go through the trouble of requested one from acer. I reformatted the whole disk while attempted to install arch.
noticed that the button at the bottom left corner of the desktop doesn't work.It is supposed to hide everything on the desktop and when clicked again bring everything back.I was jacking around (learning) with Compiz yesterday, but not sure how that could affect it.

The problem that I am having is that the OS will randomly think that I am holding down the left mouse button, which I am clearly not. I only installed the base system (development pack), and did not add any of ther other repositories. I found the paste function of the center button is really annoying. Usually I use the center button to scroll up and down inside an editor, but when I scroll really fast occasionally I would press down the center button. The editor ended up paste whatever on the clipboard. Is there a way to disable it? I want the center button to function only like a scroll bar, no paste.
