View 2 RepliesI got myself a shiny M305 Logitech mouse for my laptop. It comes with a littlee USB wireless dongle. When I plug in the dongle, DMESG shows me that the system notices the dongle:
usb 5-1: USB disconnect, address 6
hda-intel: IRQ timing workaround is activated for card #0. Suggest a bigger bdl_pos_adj.
usb 5-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 7

I have a question about making this device working properly on Fedora 15.
On Ubuntu worked when adding to /etc/X11/xorg.conf this section:
But making this on Fedora don't allow to boot at all.
Here is my xorg.conf on Fedora 15 now(which is default):
How do I have to change this file?
I Have Fedora 12 and use the Logitech Marble mouse.
This mouse has no scroll wheel, instead it has two buttons one to scroll up and another to scroll down.
Instead of the usual scrolling, the buttons are acting as if I had clicked the back or forward buttons on the browser.
How can I map the buttons to function as intended?
i cant get this right for some reason. i switched from ubuntu to fedora. in ubuntu i had the same issue with the touchpad, but there i found a fix which worked with ubuntu, but not with fedora.[URL]... the problem in fedora is that i dont have any psmouse.ko module in /lib/modules/2.6.39.4/kernel/drivers/input/mouse so the patch cant really be applied so i get an error, saying there is no psmouse
i found a fix, but since my knowledge with linux is limited i didnt get it right. "I spent some time trying to get this working (and one will find other threads here, on the Fedora list, etc, where I was trying to get help), but the problem, in the end, is that Fedora doesn't install the PS/2 mouse driver as a module, but builds it into the kernel. So the solution was to recompile the kernel using the changed files from System 76's repo.
This is not nearly as difficult as it sounds. The process described in the Fedora docs, under Building a Custom Kernel, is easy enough to follow. In my case, it was even easier. I unpacked the kernel source by following the steps down through "Prepare the Kernel Source Tree" and then copied the source for the new "module" into drivers/input/mouse, replacing just the elantech.h and elantech.c files. I don't really care about getting an RPM, so I just built the kernel"[URL]..
Is there any USB mouse battery indicators for Ubuntu that can tell me the battery level of my Logitech USB mouse? (something like a laptop battery one) I want to add it the panel.

About 5 years ago I bought a Logitech wireless keyboard. I want to add a wireless mouse now. Logitech has no docs on its website for the keyboard or receiver. Does anyone know how to figure out whether any mouse I buy now will be compatible with my old receiver? I know that all wireless mice come with receivers, but I have limited USB ports.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI use a set of keyboard + mouse Logitech MK330. So, they are wireless in five minutes of inactivity have to sleep. But sleep only the keyboard. The mouse does not fall asleep. On distro Ubuntu and Windows goes into standby mode, both devices. How can I fix it to Debian?
During installation Debian distro, mouse goes to sleep, but on the installed system will not go into standby mode.
I'm using the Logitech MX1100 mouse which has a quite a few buttons. (10) I would like to use 2 of them for volume control (as I do for Windows) but have no idea how to in ubuntu 9.10. Is there any way I could map the buttons to control volume? I'm a minor noob so keep it simple.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just bought a usb logitech LS1 laser mouse, plugged it in restarted ubuntu 10.10 and its not working.
Where can i change the mouse?
I just purchased this mouse today. The box brags that one can insert the include AA battery, put the little remote in a USB port, turn the mouse, on, and away you go.
However, it doesn't work. I've gone through the whole troubleshooting guide, which generally consists of silly questions such as "Is the mouse on?"
My previous mouse was a logitech, but it was not wireless. It worked fine. Are there any restricted extras in order to get this beauty up and running? Or should I return it and invest in a more Linux-friendly mouse?
the Squeeze uprgade I also lost the middle mouse functionaly of my Logitech Marble Mouse. I do not remember how I set it up to be honest. I am not sure if it was by default middle was mouse was "pressing 2 buttons on eachside at the same time" or I did set up manually using Xmod or similar tool. I might have even set up in the hal settings. The reason I do not remember exactly is that I used multiple tuts and places to set this up long time ago and now that the functionality is gone I am kind of confused about how to go ahead about it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a couple of Logitech wireless mice (M325) with USB Unifying receivers, one for a couple of netbooks (Asus & HP) and one for my old desktop. These have been working very nicely
under 32 bit OSs :-
Windows XP
Debian testing (Wheezy & Jessie)
I now have a new 64 bit desktop (Intel i5) and the Logitech mouse
DOES work with :-
The Bios
Windows 7
But it does NOT work with :-
Debian Jessie
I have found an old mechanical Sun 3 button mouse (USB), which has got me
working to some extent, but does remind me why I got an optical wireless mouse!
My old 32 bit desktop reports :-
Code: Select all$ uname -a
Linux copper 3.10-2-686-pae #1 SMP Debian 3.10.7-1 (2013-08-17) i686 GNU/Linux
Code: Select all$ lsmod | grep hid
hid_logitech_dj 13054 0
usbhid 36040 0
hid 64702 2 usbhid,hid_logitech_dj
usbcore 110348 4 uhci_hcd,ehci_hcd,ehci_pci,usbhid

I need to get the comparative info off the new desktop, but I am currently hampered by the old mouse and the bug, whereby when I asked for the LXDE desktop I also got Gnome installed, and Lightdm ignores my request to start LXDE and dumps me in Gnome!!
The main differences that I have found was in the modules where the 32 bit one uses uhci_hcd, while the 64 bit one uses xhci_hcd. The dmesg section is like the above, finding the Unifying device, but is missing the last line where djdevice finds the mouse..
After upgrading from OS11.1 to 11.2 I am annoyed by the fact that no configuration options exist any more to customize for my mouse. This is a 2-button trackball very ergonomic for people. that are prone to have RSI problems like me, a real solution.
Before in 11.1 I could use Yast to set up X that it would emulate a scrollwheel with the right button. Unfortunately now with 11.2 all has to be recognised automatically and they simply threw out the mouse configuration in Yast, leaving us with some useless console mouse configuration. Not every upgrade means an improvement, which seems very much like ....
Could somebody help me or give me pointers what is the procedure to recover this emulated scrollwheel functionality? I know it has to do with xorg.conf, but I don't have that file and without this good start it will be difficult for me to get anywhere. How is this file re-created?
i'm using a logitech dinovo keyboard/mouse and was trying to figure out if the device is still in boot mode. I don't see the usb hub listed when i hciconfig and i although the udev rules appear to hid2hci, i cant seem to figure out how in the heck i could be paired when i've never went through the process.. lsusb also shows "boot interface subclass" which im guessing means its in bootmode? Im obviously concerned about this because bootmode isnt encrypted.

It works under Windoze but in Linux the integrated mouse doesn't work. Whilst it's forced me to learn some keyboard shortcuts, the mouse would help a lot.
This is my media PC. I run currently run Mandriva 2008 & use Kafiene to watch/record etc TV.
I have a Logitech VX Revolution, and I would like to change the "search/find" button to be used to middle click as opposed what it currently does, opening a new google tab in firefox. The mouse settings in System Settings does not have a tab for editing what the buttons do. (I thought there should be a Logitech tab, but I guess that is for USB only)
openSUSE 11.2 KDE 4.3.5
I am trying to get the forward and back buttons on my Logitech Surface mouse working in openSUSE 11.2 running as a guest in VMware Workstation 7 on a Win7 x64 Pro host. I have read many places about editing the xorg.conf file and have done so successfully under Ubuntu in the past. I have successfully installed VMware Tools and everything is working as expected except the side buttons on the mouse. I have no current xorg.conf file

It worked with 9.10 and 9.04 fine out of the box, but i upgraded my computer to the new version and suddenly it wont work at all. I have tried pairing it with the bluetooth manager to no avail. Did some research and i believe the problem is it wont switch over to CVS mode or something which would let it also work in the bios.

I have a 5 button mouse and the 4th and 5th buttons are useful for skipping back or forwards while surfing with Firefox. It would be nice if I could skip back in Nautilus too, but it doesn't work. (Alt+LeftArrow & Alt+RightArrow as keybord equivalent) Is there a possibility to use this buttons in Nautilus too?
View 6 Replies View RelatedPicked up a Linkskey KVM (LKU-UA02) from my brother for free, thought I'd put it to use. Works fine but after switching between each machine once, the keyboard/mouse does not work. Tried unplugging the device(s) and the KVM itself from each machine but no luck. Not a huge issue, but it would be nice to use the KVM (right now I have to use VNC to get a similar effect).
