General :: Man Page For Redhat Networking Settings?

1. im working on several distros, sometimes i dont remember the syntax of the ethernet settings (i.e those directives in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0,or /etc/network/interfaces ) in redhat its IPADDR,NETMASK etc..
in ubunto its:
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.1.5
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.1.254
so,where exactly is the man page for this information, i tried (in centos) to type man -k "IPADDR" to find some reference but i come up with nothing.
2. sometimes im logged as user "user1" and then i do "su user2" and then again "su user3",
i would like to know how far the nesting is and who was first.. i.e is there any command to give me this output: "user1->user2->user3"?

How to do PTCL broadband settings in redhat.in windows i just do followingRight Click My Network Places on desktop and select Properties Right Click Local Area Connections andselect Properties.In the General Tab; double click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and made the following settings:
ip: 192.168.1.2
subnet: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.1.1
preffered dns: 203.135.0.70
alternate dns: 203.135.1.117

I cant mount a directory on red hat 5 from red hat 4 using fstab.I keep getting permission denied.I mount directories on the same red hat 5 sys from other red hat 5 and 2 old HPUX systems using fstab.When I try to telnet to it i get "no route to host."

I want to combine 4 ps(or pdf) page to single page and for this i have try a2ps command as:
a2ps -4 1.ps 2.ps 3.ps 4.ps -o outfile.ps
Event through it divide the page into four section. But only give one output of my four input. other three section is blank. Is i am doing some wrong or Is their any other command to do so.

I am using Fedora 13 x86_64 on a Acer Aspire 7730ZG laptop with: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G98 [GeForce 9300M GS] (rev a1) I have kmod-nvidia-2.6.33.6-147.2.4.fc13.x86_64-195.36.31-1.fc13.2.x86_64 installed from rpmfuison when I plug in the hdmi cable to the tv, my tv says the resoultion is at 720p, and I can not get any of the resolutions settings to look right on seperate x screen with the nvidia X server settings gui. my tv is a vizo 42inch. also another question is their a way to set the video card to output at 1080? this might be part of my problem?

I had Windows XP working. I then put in a new hard disk and installed Redhat 5 on it. rom then i could only boot into Redhat. Further, everyting is very slow. Anothe rproblem is that Redhat does not see my netwrok so I cannot get onto the Internet. I need to have the choice of booting into XP or Redhat.

On FC11 64 bit with Adobe flash plugin for Linux installed, I see segfault errors from "npviewer" in /var/log/messages. The only browser I have tried yet, Firefox, has glitches every now and then. Sometimes it shows the title of a page in a tab, but the page is blank. This can even happen when I try the Google main page. Is it true that npviewer has something to do with Adobe flash? Is there a way to fix the problem? If it is caused by Adobe flash, is there a different plugin that will replace Adobe flash player?

i am able to try ubuntu and everything works fine until i try to install. the menu comes up to the first page where it tells you to plug in your machine and make sure there is enough disk space and network connectivity. when i hit next on this page the mouse icon changes but the next page never loads. the longest i let it hang there was 2 hours. ive tried multiple times with the same result.
im running from a flash drive on an ASUS Eee PC 1001P-PU17

I have a problem printing to my HP printer.
What is my problem? I have a page (one page - text an graphic) to print. When I sent it to my printer it prints OK. When I sent it agian, the output is totally garbled. When I sent it again (a third time) it is OK. Sent it again (4th time) it is garbled. Sent it again ... you get the picture ;-). Alternating good and bad pages.
What is my setup? I run Fedora 14 with Cups 1.4.6. The printer is a HP Deskjet 940C. It is connected to a linksys wireless print server. It is configured in CUPS to use ipp printing. The driver I use in Cups is 'CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.6 Simplified (color, 2-sided printing)'.

I have apache httpd server on my Fedora 10I got 2 problems:First : I copied the web page files to its Document Root <var/www/html> & Disabled the default web page. But when I visit http:/localhost ，it shows up the list of files in <var/www/html> as if a ftp server browsed in web page. So how can I set http://localhost load my default web page index.html ?Second :I want to set up a web server on Internet through my router . I applied for DDNS account & input it into router correctly . I set virtual host in server to redirect any access from port 80 to 192.168.1.2:80 in LAN . Just for in case , I also download and running the DDNS software & installed it on PC 192.168.1.2 in LAN . My DDNS provider is oray.cn . It's a Chinese server provider . I don't think there is anything wrong with oray.cn . But if you need its information just visit oray.cn (Google can translate it for you). So I want to know did I miss something to set up a web server in this kind of situation

We have Redhat 9 proxy server with 4 lan cards using 1 static and 3 internal private ips,as there is no pci slot in the pc for fifth lan card so i have to purchase usb lan card.
My question is that can the redhat9 will detect the usb lan card if it will detect the usb lan card then I will purchase the lan card

had a box lose it's virtual IP address on the eth0 card. I rebooted the box but it just would not give the card the second IP address. We rebooted several times in fact.Today admin ran 'ifup ifcfg-eth0:1' and the virtual IP was there. Nothing was changed, just that command was ran.I thought there might be a problem with the automagical stuff so I rebooted the box again, virtual IP is there and happy.Anyone know why it would not have come back on reboot and why it now does?

I'm using a program on a group of servers which contact each other using SSH. I've got the authentication keys setup with no password but when one box tries to connect to another it wants the password for the user it's trying to communicate with. So the main problem is there is a lot of communicating within this program so it's important to allow each box communicate with each other without the use of a password. I'm using OpenSSH 4.3 with OpenSSL 0.9.8 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 5.3 (Tikanga). I'm also using SSH on Ubuntu(Intrepid) to connect to these servers at the mo as i don't have direct access to the boxes.
