Fedora :: GDM Unable To Detect Any Users After Today's Update: "No Seat-id Found."?

This was weird. I just updated my software, through a "setenforce 0" and root shell access since the last update before this left me with a bugged GUI updater, restarted and then logged back in to . . . no users visible in GDM at all. There was nothing but a huge "Other" box staring me in the face. I got the idea to check /var/log/messages and then the GDM greeter logs from there, and here is what I came up with.

I click unlock repeatedly but nothing happens... I ran it in terminal and got this

We have 4 servers having rhel 5.2. We have several users logged in on one of them. We have nis server/client running on them and have common home area mounted on all of them. Now we want to disable/block the accounts of the users who have not accessed our servers in last 2 months from today. What logic should we apply to do so? We were checking stat of .bashrc of each user but is not correct logic. We are going to write shell script for the same. We don't want to do anything in users home area or their files.

After this morning's Ubuntu update, the folder I was working in all day yesterday is missing. Also, all icons on the top were missing except the date until I restarted. Folder's still missing though. I was wondering if this is a bug or if it's something with my computer. Also, I didn't look that close at the update, but I thought it looked a lot like the previous update (had chrome in it again).

I'am using ubuntu lucid, after today's system updates, mysql stop working at all. Log file at /var/log/mysql/error.log does not say anything about today, and whe I try to start it the terminal hang also in verbose mode.

I have brought a virtuell server to get Magento ready. My server is debian with PHP Version 5.2.6-1+lenny3
For that i need Pear. I want to install it global so i tried this command "apt-get install php-pear". Following i get after this:

I have a broadcom 4322 with the broadcom-wl driver on Fedora 11. It worked the first time I used it, and since then is unable to detect any networks. I've tried reinstalling the driver, and it still does not work. Any suggestions?

I run Fedora 13 in Oracle VM VirtualBox. Version 3.2.8 r64453
I did not realize that you had to install Guest Additions but after much reading I finally got it done. After I was done the max size I could go to was 1024x768. Using detect monitors I still get "Unknown" as a result.
I really don't know what else to try as I am not to proficient with the OS. I would like to run it at my monitors native resolution so I can have it on my other monitor. IE: Monitor 1-Vista. Monitor 2- F13
Monitor: Dell 1907FP native resolution. 1280x1024
Video Card: Dual Radeon 4800HD
I thought it might be something with the video card but I can not get the ati drivers to load at all. I have been unsuccessful finding drivers for the monitor.
Ok, so I got really bored and started trying it with other OS's. I installed Ubuntu and after I added the User Additions I was unable to get anything over 1024x768. Fedora is still stuck 1024x768. I also installed XP and it works like a champ.

I have a rocketraid 2640x4 with 2 500gb HDDs configured in my system. I also have a 3.5" usb floppy disk plugged in with the SCSI drivers When I boot the RHEL 5.5 x86 32 bit installer, i type in "linux dd" at the first screen. Then it asks me to load my drivers via the floppy disk which i do. When i get to the installation page of Linux after entering my serial key, it is not able to detect my HDD so i am unable to proceed. I have tried using drivers for RHEL 5, 5.1 and 5.2. There are no drivers for 5.5.

Recently i upgraded my dvd writer from pata to sata, now i install LG sata dvd writer into my system, now my problem is that its unable to detect in my fedora 8 box , but i can successfully boot fedora 8 from this dvd writer.i have a kernel version 2.6.23. solution for this.

Dual PII 400, 512Mb with a Promise SuperTrak 100 IDE Array Controller. At present I have only one drive on the controller, configured for 1 JBOD array. I install FC9 with no problem. New partition is created and formatted, Grub is installed, and then... Grub is found and booted, but then I get:

I did a "yum update" today. I love how every time, it's like a waiting game to see what broke.Anyway, aside from a weird Nvidia issue that doesn't concern me, the most noticeable problem is that my wireless will NOT connect to my WPA2 network. This laptop is the only machine that changed. The other laptops and wireless devices (smartphones, etc) didn't change.It sees all of the available wireless networks. It attempts to connect, but never does. After a short period of time, a dialog box appears, stating that authentication is required... The password is correct, it just won't connect. Here's a copy of the Yum log... I do see that NetworkManager has been updated, along with the kernel being updated.*sigh*

I installed some updates this morning to my F14-64 system. Both Thunderbird and Thunderbird-lightning were updated. Now, Thunderbird won't start at all. The process is running, but no window ever appears.The only thing I've tried at this point is running 'thunderbird -safe-mode' from the command line to disable all plugins, but the result is the same as just running 'thunderbird' -- it just hangs. It doesn't *appear* to be a plugin problem

I have a new F12 install, and my syslog is filling up with messages about USB. I have 2 USB devices plugged in directly to the mobo (bluetooth keyboard receiver, touchscreen), and it keeps redetecting them and then disabling the port for some reason.

I have successfully set up a multi-seat configuration using 2 nvidia cards with 2 instances of X running at the same time. Thing is now, I can't access my external hard drive or any usb thumb drives I plug in. Normally when they would just open up after I plug them it, I get an error saying "unable to mount, Not Authorized". How I can regain access to this? I am using Linux Mint 10

I have successfully configured my system for a multi-seat setup using 2 nvidia cards in Linux Mint 10 and it works great except for a few things that I can't seem to get to work.
1: I can't access any other drives other than the file system drive. All usb flash drives and even esata external hard drives. When I try to mount, it gives me an error: Unable to Mount <drive>, Not Authorized.
2: If not logged into for a while, the second seat (the one on my tv) seems to "go away". I just get no signal on my tv. I have a hunch that this might be the power saver options turning off the display. I think it does it after an hour or so. [EDIT]: just tried to move the mouse and click the keyboard on the no signal screen, it worked!
