After install I tried to add firefox but it wasn't found in any of the repositories. I thought it was supposed to be in there. Thunderbird also wasn't. What repositories do you guys add after install?
title says ist all: downloaded and installed the current FP-DEB from Adobe and installed it via GDebi.Result: Firefox (3.6.15) doesn't play any videos anymore (shows "need to upgrade...")But: the FP is installed properly, as seen by Opera using it just fine.Any ideas how to tell Firefox where to find it?I have found '/opt/firefox/plugins/flashplugin-alternative.so' and I have copied it as '/opt/firefox/plugins/libflashplayer.so' to no avail.
I want to upgrade Firefox to 3.6.3 The latest version should be 3.6.3 instead of 3.6.2. But even so, the 3.6.2 version is not there. Should I keep looking for other mirror that has the available software or do I miss anything?

I tried tons of linux distros before i decided on openSuse as it was the first to work out of the box with all my hardware. Anyway, to my question/problem, i just run a system update which seemed to complete correctly, however, whenever i try and run the'Install Software' tool i'm given the following error:
libzypp.so.619=>not found warning: the gtk frontend is installed but does not work GTK GUI wanted but not found falling back to Qt. Error while creating client module online_update_configuration
I have been using F12 for quite some time now...and its working really great...although am still having some problems...but am sure will get used to it. I have a simple wifi setup at my place, with the dsl modem connected directly to the wifi router. For the past couple of days, whenever i try to access some websites it takes me to [URL] web page. with the following error. Theres no website hosted at this address
[Code]....
Couple more thing that i have noticed is
1. when i clear all my history cache cookies etc.....it starts to work fine....for some time.
2. If i type an address like...www.google or www.facebook it shows the same [URL] page with no website hosted error...instead of the default firefox error page.
3. The search toolbar in firefox also doesnt works properly when ever this thing happens......any search will give a 404 error 404 Not Found The requested URL /search?q=test&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a does not exist.
I have a laptop with Redhat 5 installed and a Windows 7 Virtual Machine. The laptop is connected to the internet but I cant access any web pages in firefox - it just comes up with Server Not Found (tried all different sites). I know the internet connection is good as if i go into my windows VM firefox works normal. Ive checked the network settings and tried setting to 'no proxy' and automatically detect but nothing seems to work. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled firefox and still get the same.
Ive tried both wired and wireless but makes no difference. Seems really weird that it works in the Windows VM but not in Redhat which its booting into.
I've updated my openSUSE 11.1 to 11.2 using installation DVD. After that, as system boots, I started to get lines like:
Code: FATAL: Module jbd not found FATAL: Module mbcache not found FATAL: Module ext3 not found and so on with different modules.. and this exact string several times:
Code: WARNING: All config file need .conf: /etc/modprobe.d/tv, it will be ignored in a future release. Finally I get:
I just got Clear Internet and when I used the PPA from Ubuntuzilla I could see the update was available but it said "A recomended security and stability update is available, but you do not have the system permissions to install it. contact your system adminstrator or try again from an account that has permission to access from this computer". Why would a change in isp's do this, it is not logical, is it?
Recently I've installed Open Suse 11.3 along with Ubuntu 9.10 on my PC ( made it a dual-boot OS ). This morning while logged in, in Open Suse 11.3, found out that there were important update for kernel in Yast. So, did the update and then required to restart the PC. In the Grub/boot menu, I chose to log-in to Open Suse 11.3, but after a while it returned with " Error 15, file not found ". Luckily I was able to log-in in Ubuntu 9.10. Assumed that Error 15 is always related to misplaced or wrong configuration of Grub in the partition, I did several searching via Google, and found this possible solution HowTo Boot into openSUSE when it won't Boot from the Grub Code on the Hard Drive . So I tried the " Broken Grub menu: boot to the menu, drop to a console and boot openSUSE direct " method. But rightly after the " find /boot/grub/menu.lst " command as instructed in the solution, it returned with ( hd0,0 ) and ( hd0,4 ). Why there are 2 bootloader in the Grub ? Which bootloader should I choose ? And for convenience, here is my " menu.lst " folder that I get via Terminal in Ubuntu 9.10 :
I just got a pop up that said that there is a Firefox Ubdate that I do not have the authority to install. It gives a link of www.firefox.com to go to for the latest firefox. I checked the Update manager. No update. All of Mozilla links in google say Mozilla. I feel sure this is an attempt to install malware. It came up when I went to cnet and I guess I shoule include a picture of it. Does anybody have any experience with this?
I went on to read cnet and the first article was about major add servers serving up adds that automaticly install malware. I guess this was a case of that. I had addblocker disabled at the time but noscript active. Looks to me like having noscript saved me an infection. Be careful out there.
Toshiba notebook is set up to triple boot win7, mepis 8.5 and os 11.3.Recent update of os11.3 left system with boot failure, "file not found".I booted mepis and used utility to reinstall grub, but no joy. Appeared to install ok but on reboot, sda5 identified as 'mepis' not os11.3 and would not boot. Win7 & mepis boot ok.
Next, booted live Parted Magic and repaired as per another thread here, but again, no joy.NONE of the systems will boot.Rebooted mepis live cd and reinstalled grub again. Sda5 still identified as mepis and will not boot. Win7 & mepis boot ok.
Tofirst automatic software update was launched on my newly installed openSUSE 11.2 - and apparently it replaced Firefox 3.6.4 with 3.5.9.I tried to find out how to install 3.6.4 using YaST2, but adding the following repository didn't help me any further:Index of /repositories/mozilla/openSUSE_11.2What do I need to do to have YaST2 install the latest firefox version?
how to update these packages easily? I am concerned about the security using version 3.0 major security issues. Also, where can we get security updates for Centos 5.4?
I've noticed that FireFox is still at 3.0.11 on my Fedora 10 install despite multiple auto-updates. Will this not update FireFox to 3.5 auto-magically, or do I need to do it manually myself?

I havent used Linux in a long time. I dug up an old copy of Suse (version8.2), and installed it on an old 599MHZ PC. Ive been trying to update the various libraries to be able to get a updated version of Firefox installed. Is there any chance that this can work? I need to know if Im wasting my time and should just put winxp on this PC. Also, I cant get any repositories working. I assume the default ones I have on the Suse installation are bad and the ones for the later versions will not work.

Fedora 11, 32-bit, updated daily manually via yum (console). Today got the Firefox update to 3.5.4. After restarting Firefox, the fist page reads: "You should update Adobe Flash Player right now." The link leads to Adobe site, which offers me Flash Player version 10.0.32.18. All is fine so far, excluding the fact that I already have this player:
I updated Firefox 4 beta to the latest version, and now all my bookmarks are gone. Thanks to x-marks and other means I have backups, but I'm not able to restore them to the updated browser.

Currently, I have a problem to run firefox 64bit 3.6 under fedora13 when I watch ...... It requires to update Adobe Flash Player. It seems that there is only 32bit library.
Recently I have installed Fedora 10. It comes with firefox 3.xx by default. Now I was wondering if there is any way through which i can update it to 3.5 version though yum. I have tried yum update firefox but it did not work and returns following messages Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit Setting up Update Process No Packages marked for Update I know that one way to update is download the latest Tar package and use it, but I want to totally remove my previous installation and use solely one package i.e. firefox 3.5.
