Ubuntu :: Desktop Wallpaper Slide Show Builder?

Jun 5, 2010

Any tools to assemble a set of images into a Gnome desktop wallpaper slide show -- like the Cosmos one in the default selection?I can see its a folder with the images and an xml file that controls the "playback". Presumably there is a reasonably easy tool to use to create my own short of reverse engineering the xml files.

Programming :: Can't Get VBA Macro To Run In Powerpoint Slide Show

Aug 18, 2010

All I'm trying to do is ShellExecute a program every time a new slide appears.

I'm using Office 2003 Powerpoint.

I did the following:

1. Tools, Options, Security Options, Macro Security, Security Level= Medium

2. Tools, Options, Macro, VBA Editor:

Code:
Sub OnSlideShowPageChange(ByVal SSW As SlideShowWindow)
MsgBox ("OnSlideShowPageChange")
End Sub

3. File, Save

4. Back to PowerPoint: F5) Slide Show, View Show <= Did NOT see the message box

5. Exit out of Powerpoint, reopen the .ppt file, F5) again <= Still don't see the message box

why isn't "OnSlideShowPageChange" getting invoked when I run the slide show?

Edit -> Multitrack mode seems to be where multiple movies can be placed. I do not seem to be able to place the still images on here. Maybe I can and they just don't show up on the timeline well.

Fedora :: Launching GUI From Terminal - VNC Closes And Won't Show A GUI Login Page

Aug 20, 2009

Having logged in (to Fedora 11) with a terminal session, what command do I give to spawn the Gnome GUI desktop environment? Background: I'm running two Fedora boxes: one local, and one at the other end of my building (on fast LAN). I have full control/ownership of both boxes.

On the local box, I log-in to my vanilla F11 build, and I get the Gnome GUI automatically. Then I can open a terminal window, 'ssh -X -l myself remotebox; cinelerra' to run Cinelerra nicely in local desktop windows.

But sometimes I want to see my typical user desktop for the remote box. Now, IF the remote box is ALREADY running Gnome, I can VNC to it, etc. But, once having logged-out of the remote box, VNC closes and won't show me a GUI login page. (BTW: The remote box usually has no monitor, as well as being out of reach. So schlepping over to logon to it is a real pain.) So, here's the thing: I can login (to terminal session) and can bring up programs in local windows. But WHAT program do I launch in order to bring up Gnome??

Fedora Servers :: Make PHP Pages - Shows An Internal Error 500 Page But Doesn't Show On What Line And Compile Error Encountered

I'm trying to make some pages. For this I try to host them locally. However, when I have an error in my PHP code, the server shows an internal error 500 page and doesn't show on what line and what compile error it encountered. There is no such information in the error log either. What should I do about it, it's not really nice to comment all the lines and then try to uncomment them one by one. I've been googling for a while, but didn't find anything.. I forgot to mention, I;m using Fedora :P, the apache that came with it and mysql and php from the repository...

Ubuntu :: How To Slide Swap And Ext Partitions With Contents

May 12, 2011

On my only hard drive, I have it partitioned for Windows 7 and Ubuntu 11, Earlier today I performed "Shrink Volume" on the Windows partition, successful, opened 22.74GiB I would like to increase my 10GiB Ubuntu 11 Partition to 16GiB, then create a partition for trying out chromium. I know the following discussion I am going to sound like a noob but for simplicity bear with me. When I say "left" I actually mean tracks closest to the center of the cylinder and right, those further away.

sda1 and sda2 are my Windows 7 Partitions, Then I have 22.75GiB of unallocated space from the shrink volume, then sda3 extended, sda5 swap, and sda6 ext4 /. How do I "slide" the swap and Ubuntu 11 ext partitions to the left while maintaining their contents? Am I just as well backing up, then formatting the Ubuntu 11 partition? My first thought was to ghost the Ubuntu partition to the unallocated space then updating grub, but grub did not see it. The following is a screenshot of gparted's view of my HD.

Ubuntu Installation :: Partitioner Lack Slide Control?

Jul 17, 2010

i remember back a few years ago you could partition the drive by simply sliding a slider, and now trying to install ubuntu next to xp my dad was unable to set it up. This is a big step back for the design of the partitioner. He was able to set up ubuntu 7.04 on his old computer many years ago when i was not there. He tried to set up 10.04 today and got so frustrated with ubuntu wanting to take most of his drive, that he gave up. why was the "simple slide to set space you where going to give ubuntu" taken away. he just wants to set up the space he didn't want to deal with root, swap space, and so on. he just wanted to set up a block of space that ubuntu can use however it wants. but the partitioner will not let him. this needs to be fixed. the install process must be simple to use by everyone. i do not want my friends and family getting frustrated with installing it. he was excited to try the new ubuntu till he got to dealing with the partitioner and after that he wanted nothing to do with ubuntu. the installer is the first thing they see make that the primary focus of "easy of use".

Ubuntu :: Change Color Of Window Slide Bar From White To Something Else

Oct 29, 2010

I am running SuperOS 10.10, which is based on Ubuntu 10.10. I am fairly new to gnome Ubuntu and never have dealt much with changing themes.I am using the Ambiance theme and like everything about it but the slide bar is white and hard to see. I like the fact that the close, minimize, maximize buttons are on the left side of the window. If I change the theme to clearlooks then the slide bar is blue and easy to see but the close, minimize, maximize buttons are on the right. I went into Ubunty Tweak, window manager settings when in the clearlooks theme and the close, minimize, maximize buttons are set to custom.

If I uncheck the custom button and click left then nothing happens. I would either like to change the color of the slide bar in ambiance theme or change the close, minimize, maximize buttons location in clearlooks theme. It is probably simple to do but I have been going in circles with no change. Can someone point me in the right direction? Nevermind, I will just switch to another distro. This question didn't generate a lot of traffic.
