View 3 RepliesI have a few questions to ask, so please pardon me
1) How to check for https in commands config file for Nagios? I only know how to check for http, not sure for https.
2) The log file in Nagios, is it possible to extend Nagios's plugins (or are there already have plugins existed) so that we could actually make use of the log file to check for status of each and every services in different hosts, instead of looking through the log file manually which can be very time-consuming if the list is very long.
When I first installed K3b it burned the first track with no GUI user configurations. The second time it says that the file name is too long and asks if you want to catenate (shorten) it even if it is the same file you have already burned that didn't ask for this shortening of the file name before. Than it gives you an error of "Could not determine size of resulting image file". So my question is how do you use K3b I guess. Brasero won't do multi-session as far I can deduct. It will ask if you want to do it but after ask if you want to erase the disc.If you force it there is no entry of the previous burns. If I could get Brasero to muli-session it would sovle my problem as well. Here's the debugging stuff. I'm using this on Gnome.

I've installed the packages required to use a wiimote as a remote control in Fedora, and am currently trying to write a config file to use the wiimote for Clementine. My file currently looks like this:
Code:
# This is the wminput-clementine file
Wiimote.A = KEY_F6 #Play/Pause

I currently can run an old swf on my Chumby 8 device by storing and using these three files on a USB plugged into the device

When I use a media PC to watch MP4s they generally show up nicely with a scrollable selection of "covers" to select which clip I want to watch (like covers of film DVDs). How is this determined and is there software that allows this to be edited and changed?
I want to edit some video clips and present them in a professional display with the other clips I have. Ideally this would mean I could create a "title page" like a DVD cover
If this is a problem exactly with Networking or my Laptop...I have a celron laptop 1.5GHZ with 1.5GB ram and 120GB HDD and I have a Intel 965 chipset I guess...
The problem is I have a desktop with ubuntu 10.04 and My network card...Huwaei runs fine but if I install on my latop with above specs it does not detemine the modem but it determines the micro SD in it...
Is the problem related with laptop or my network card...
If it is my latop then which version of UBUNTU should I run....
I installed F11 on a SATA 500 GB Hard drive. I plugged this HD in various computers. It worked fine.
However, when I try it on the following platform (the one I have to get it to work): (PC104 bus, AMD 1.1GZ with 512 RAM), I get a file system error during bootup.
On the other hand, the system gave the chance to enter the root password. So, once I did this, I tried to run commands "fsck -f /dev/sda" and "fsck -f /dev/sda1". The command could not find sda or sda1.
I tried the fsck on different platforms (with the same HD), it worked fine.
I returned the CPU board to the vendor, and I am expecting a new board soon. I assumed the problem could be with the board itself. But, I am not sure.
I would like to make a script that determines if a particular package is installed or not. Is there a built in way to do this with rpm or am I looking at getting down and dirty with learning parsing tricks with bash?

First time I opened a ram file I choosed the default player, Reproductor de peliculas (I think Movie player in english). Now when I choose Open with Realplayer and remember the application for this extension it opens the archive but it does not remember for the next times. It seems to be a little bug. How can I do it manually? Where is the association config file for file extensions?

When I try to save my X configuration file.. it says "Failed to parse existing X config file '/etc/X11/xorg.conf'!"
I've already deleted my current xorg.conf and created a new one using sudo nvidia-xconfig and run NVIDIA X server settings using gksudo nvidia-settings but still can't save..I am using 32-bit Ubuntu 9.10 and my video card is NVIDIA FX 5500..
where are the "System Log Viewer" config files stored? I know most have been moved into /var/rsyslog.d/ folder but where are the users config file stored? I restored my local /home to a fresh install and the Log viewer is looking for log files from the OLD install.
So there must be a config file somewhere in /home/$user that the system log viewer is reading from as well as the rsyslog.d folder...
This is an existing 10.4 installation, I decided to install XFCE through the package manager, hoping to get a little bit better performance. After I rebooted, I was greeted with the Grub command prompt. Not sure if this triggered this issue or whether it is convenience.I can boot into my system using the command line, however, I can't get Grub to use my menu again. Grub version is 1.98 (which I guess makes it Grub2). I've tried grub-install and grub-upate, neither of which returns any errors, however, after rebooting I still see the command prompt. I have verified that the config file in /boot/grub/grub.cfg does exist and appears to be correct as far as I can tell. Is there something I need to do to tell grub to look at this config file and display the menu?
