If you haven't install the 2.7 version yet. Before upgrading, backup "python" directory and then just restore it after installing 2.7.

Jun 12, 2010Some of you may have had with issues after installing GIMP on Lucid Lynx 10.04. Which may be directly related to "gimp-help-en", which could prevent you from installing other applications and preforming system tasks. If so, use this method to fix it.
Process: (Terminal > $ sudo apt-get install gimp)
1. After installing Gimp go to the terminal:
2. Then load up the language support application:
3. Then it will ask you to install the "gimp-help-en", confirm it.
4. Fix'd
I think this issue is directly linked to a systems with multiple languages, but I haven't been able to test this theory out yet.

This temporarily sets everything properly on my screen. However, when I issue any commands that change or set their own background color (for example, when I issue an "ls" command with colorized output), the background color gets lost for any new output and I have to reissue the commands listed above in order to retrieve my background color.Ideally I'd like to keep my background color when issuing these commands, as it serves as a good way to remind me of what environment I am currently issuing commands in.

Feb 2, 2010I have an HP color laser printer and I am looking for a way to print black as black instead of using tri-color. For example If I print a document that has colored text then any black text is printed using the color cartridges rather then using black. I have been surviving by using windows XP in virtualbox but I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I've looked all over then net for a solution but I've found nothing. I remember having similar problems like this with older Macs because of postscript printing and I'm thinking this is the same problem but I don't know how to fix it. I've searched the forums as well but no joy.

May 1, 2010I'd tried to run HDD bench mark at my Debian Stable called iozone3. It performed I/O actions which took too long. Ctrl+C to terminate process. Everything went as always. It just terminated. Upon completion of program I used laptop for some more time. During shutting down X-Desktop shut down normally. Terminal window was showing command line with lines <Stopping this and that daemon...> but instead of normal black colour background with white text it changed into red background with white text. What does it mean? Is it safe to restart laptop?

But if I put the executable in /usr/local/bin, and the jar files into /usr/ local /lib, I get runtime errors about being unable to load the Java classes. So I resorted to putting things in /usr/bin and /usr/lib and it worked fine.Is this something that can only be corrected by compiling differently, or am I missing an installation step?
