View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to change the ubuntu logo color in the applications/places/system menu? (using Ambiance theme)
I want to change it from this:
To this: (without changing the whole theme, just the ubuntu logo)
Kernel 2.6.21.5, Slackware 12.0
KDE 3.5.7
(Mozilla) Firefox 2.0.0.4
Do color settings in the desktop environment affect color in the web browser? Thanks.
I am using the screen app, and have set bce to on, and issued the following commands to set my background and foreground color: tput setab 4; clear; tput setaf 7; clear;
This temporarily sets everything properly on my screen. However, when I issue any commands that change or set their own background color (for example, when I issue an "ls" command with colorized output), the background color gets lost for any new output and I have to reissue the commands listed above in order to retrieve my background color.Ideally I'd like to keep my background color when issuing these commands, as it serves as a good way to remind me of what environment I am currently issuing commands in.
I want to change the reddish/orangeish/pinkish color to something else, such as a slate gray or something. What file do I need to edit? gtkrc? xml?
View 9 Replies View Relateddoes anyone know how to change the panel colors independent of theme? I like the theme I am on, but I want to lighten up my panel colors a little to contrast morwith my background. If you are wondering, I tried gnome-color-chooser and I cannot figure out how to change every panels color with that in 10.10; just parts of panels.

View 6 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody here use the color theme plugin with GNU emacs? I put the files (color-theme.el and the themes folder) in my load path and everything appears to work, but many of the themes don't display correctly.
On those that fail, only the portions of the buffer which actually contain text are themed, the rest is just plain white. This is particularly noticeable when using a dark background, as I tend to do. If this isn't a good enough description, I can attach a picture.
Just as an example: charcoal-black works perfectly while dark-laptop fails as described.
This problem seems to be unique to openSUSE as the plugin works okay on the Red Hat machines I use at school.
I extract color theme under ~/bin, and my .emacs file is as below: However, there is an error when loading color theme.
[Code]....
After an upgrade to OpenSuse 11.3 KDE has gone to worse. I am beginning to believe that dark themes are impossible to use on the new KDE 4.4.4. The only theme that works properly is Air, but I find it to much white. Aya or Elegance theme have problems showing the buttons on plasma elements, so has any other theme but Air. Trying to switch to an additional dark color theme (Obsidian Coast) does not work properly either.
The buttons on plasma elements are invisible (the button panel that appears when the mouse is over an plasma element). Sometimes different elements are distorted, i.e. icons, text input boxes etc. I wonder how it is possible that the developers at KDE can make it worse. This worked perfectly on OpenSuse 11.2 and its KDE version.
I'm having trouble with Eclipse. after installing the plugin Color Theme, I will change the color Window > Preferences. The following error appears: Unhandled event loop exception No more handles [Unknown Mozilla path (MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME not set)]
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HP color laser printer and I am looking for a way to print black as black instead of using tri-color. For example If I print a document that has colored text then any black text is printed using the color cartridges rather then using black. I have been surviving by using windows XP in virtualbox but I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I've looked all over then net for a solution but I've found nothing. I remember having similar problems like this with older Macs because of postscript printing and I'm thinking this is the same problem but I don't know how to fix it. I've searched the forums as well but no joy.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust installed 32 bit Lenny 5 in virtual box, a software computer, and virtualbox say that it wants the color depth changed from 24 to 32. Tried manually changing xorg.conf but then X would not start saying: 32 depth was inconsistent with 000 weight.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a theme that looks like this.
Unfortunately, it makes the globalmenu and clock applets disappear on my gnome-panel. My panel is set to system theme, though when I choose a solid color I can get the hidden text to show up. I want to preserve the system color so I need to change the text color somehow. Also, I don't know why it uses that bluish color when clicked on since I never defined such a color in the appearance settings.
I found an old thread from 2005 on how to change the font color on the gnome-panel.
It worked for all applets on the panel except for the notification area and me-menu where the font remains dark.
How can i force the font to a light color on these two applets?
Also as i used the "clarlooks" theme for controls the status indicator is duplicated:
There is one instance in the me-menu and another in the notification area. How can i remove either? I find that the gnome-panel is a real hassle since 10.04. Not only it is not logically constructed, but it is inconsistent and not customisation friendly.
I am using Scientific linux 4 cern with the following configuration: Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.9-67.EL.cernsmp #1 SMP Wed Nov 21 16:22:33 CET 2007 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux I want to change the cursor color from black to green in gedit in GNOME. How can I do this? Chnging fomt color doesnot work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have ubuntu 10.04 installed, yesterday I installed gnome color chooser. Because it not working for me I choose to uninstall it from synaptic package manager, unfortunately I also removed the nautius.
Then, I reinstall with sudo apt-get install nautilus.
But when I restarted, I can't login (the login screen showed, when I type the password there is nothing happen) but when I ctrl+alt+f2 and login via console I can login.
Problem appears every time I leave my computer for a while and my screen turns off because of inactivity. Then after screen starts again, my desktop looks like it lost color depth. I can see wallpaper that consists of big blocks of color tones instead of being smooth. Temporary I had to disable blank screen during inactivity in Power management settings. I have installed:
Ubuntu 10.10 x86_64
kernel 2.6.35-27-generic
GNOME 2.32.0
My graphics card:
ATI Radeon HD 5470 512MB
ATI/AMD FGLRX driver installed
Does anyone know how to change the font color for the clock applet? I have a dark background on my desktop and want the panel to be transparent but I can't read the clock.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOS is CentOS 5.5, and GNOME terminal emulator (v2.16.0). However I regard the question is not related with OS/Gnome version level. My question is whether if color setting is available or not for the text character outputted by kernel (or shell, i.e. Bash). Normally we can specify/modify text character color (and background color) with property setting on the terminal. However, it only takes affect to the text for inputting character, not for outputted character by kernel/shell. For example, when we type a shell command "ls -al <cr>", the text appears with the color along with the terminal property.
Meanwhile, the text message displayed on the console (output message against "ls -al" command), in this case it must be file and/or directory names, will appear with some preset color which we've not preliminarily set. In my case, I set Text color with "White", Background color with "Black". Then I expect the text output message color displayed by kernel/shell would be some brighter color. But the color is "blue" which does not look better brightness against "Black" background. For this situation what I'd like to know is how to set/specify the color outputted by the kernel/shell (or whether or not it is possible to set manually).
I want to install Gnome Color Chooser so I can edit the task bars text colors and what not. I have Compiz Fusion and Screenlets ready to go as well as my NVIDIA driver installed.
I cant find the latest version pre-packaged as a .rpm. How do I install it from a .tar.gz?

I was using ubuntu normaly until yesterday. Today when i turned on my laptop its theme was this way:[url]
When i first turn it on, the main panel (where stays "Applications", "Places" and "System") was this color too! But then i just opened System -> Preferences -> Appearance and it self-fixed, without selecting any option, just opening Appearance window.
But the rest of this stuff (like right-click menu and folders) is still messed up!
I recently installed the Ambiance Evolution theme. In order to do so I had to remove the original Ambiance theme. I want the original back!
