Feb 23, 2011Is there a RDP client that supports version 7? I've been using rdesktop, but as far as I can tell it only supports version 6. The main reason is that version 6 doesn't support the Windows 7 Aero theme.

Ubuntu :: Remote Desktop Disconnected Because Of Protocol Error Detected At The Client - Code 0x1104
Sep 16, 2009I love Ubuntu but there is just one thing that I cannot get working. I have vista on this computer (Which I am going to delete after I get this working) when this computer is booted into vista then I type "192.168.1.65" (which is this computers internal ip address) and it connects to it without a problem. When I try this on ubuntu with KRFB running I type "192.168.1.65:5900" as it tells me to do with the added port number. This computer (This is the one I am Connecting to says "The remote user has been authenticated and is now connected." and when I hover over the icon it says "Desktop sharing - Connected with 192.168.1.70" which is my laptops IP address. On my laptop however it says "Remote Desktop Disconnected Because of a protocol error detected at the client (code 0x1104), this session will be disconnected. Please try connecting to the remote computer again." No matter how many times I try it doesn't work.

3) Use putty instead with a saved session putty.exe -load "SavedSession" Get a new window opened, not a biggy, but not as nice. (b) saved session cannot be easily moved. (c) Get password prompt, cannot provide password like with plink, I know I know, use keys, but this is a closed, private network, and its easier not to bother with keys!I would like the SSH to execute in-line, that is from within the batch file/command line shell I am in, not prompt for username/password, run the linux script and allow prompts and delete/backspace to work.

May 1, 2010I'd tried to run HDD bench mark at my Debian Stable called iozone3. It performed I/O actions which took too long. Ctrl+C to terminate process. Everything went as always. It just terminated. Upon completion of program I used laptop for some more time. During shutting down X-Desktop shut down normally. Terminal window was showing command line with lines <Stopping this and that daemon...> but instead of normal black colour background with white text it changed into red background with white text. What does it mean? Is it safe to restart laptop?
