Through update you can get kde 4.3.5 dont think this is normal or is it ?
The following packages have no delta rpms in 11.2: acroread - Adobe Reader ,java-1_6_0-sun, java-1_6_0-sun-plugin, Opera Web Browser, flash-player A quick check on 11.0 and 11.1 update repos shows that there are delta rpms for latest acrobat reader, sun java and opera updates. Is this a new Novell/openSUSE policy and has there been an anouncement made to inform users.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI currently mirror the updates repository to my computer using rsync. I was wondering if I could save space and bandwidth by only rsyncing the .delta.rpm files? Are there any disadvantages to this or does zypper/YAST handle updates just fine with it?

I've installed a F10 64-bit default installation (with updates until 25 Feb. 2009), using nvidia latest proprietary driver, pulseaudio, kde4, proprietary flash 10 beta 64-bit plugin with firefox. When I play music on Myspace the sound dropouts randomly each 3 to 30 seconds when using my M-Audio Delta 66 soundcard.
I'm using the same configuration in F8 without this problem. After login (in F10) and some other times I also have a Kernel failure message: ALSA sound/core/pcm_lib.c:154: BUG: stream = 1, pos = 0xaaa, buffer size = 0xaaa, period size = 0xaaa I don't know if it has got anything to do with the dropouts. There are no messages in /var/log/messages when the dropouts occurs.

I have noticed that the updates to my f12 64bit systems are running longer due to the fact that fewer fedora updates are delta rpms. Why is this. I know that rpmfusion updates and other third party updates are not covered.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm pretty much an Ubuntu noob and I'm about to give up. I've spent hours reading tips and tricks to get this sound card working but I usually end up making things worse. This will be my last attempt
- onboard sound is disabled in BIOS
- Delta 1010LT is recognized
- fresh Ubuntu 10.04 32bit install . . . everything is default.
- I know how to access the terminal and for argument's sake, let's say that's it. I need step by step.
I tried to remove all instances of pulse audio in the past and it removed the desktop as well. Talk about frustrating. Ok, so here I am. Fresh install, no sound and I haven't touched a thing.

if a change the model to delta1010 the driver is loaded correctly, but I assume there are major differences between the two boards so I don't get audio out, even if I unmute everything using alsamixer.Motherboard is an Intel D510MO with onboard audio disabled.

I realize it's primarily a recording card (and that's what i bought it for) but ideally I'd like to use it for all sound functions on this computer and throw my crappy Audigy card away. What I need to figure out is how I can route left and right stereo sound to two of the mono outputs on the D44 (for instance, output 1 might be left and output two could be right). Does anyone have any experience with these cards?

I have a big iso image which is currently being downloaded by a torrent client with space-reservation turned on: that means, file size is not changing while some chunks in in (4 Mib) are constantly changing because of a download.
At 90% download I do the initial rsync to save time later:
$ rsync -Ph DVD.iso /media/another-hdd/
sending incremental file list
DVD.iso

Then, when the file's fully downloaded, I rsync again:
total size is 2.60G speedup is 1.00
Speedup=1 says delta-transfer was not used, although 90% of the file has not changed, target dir is on another FS and copying takes several minutes. Why doen't it try to speedup the transfer?! How can I force rsync to use delta-transfer?
I'm using 64bit Ubuntu 9.10 and my sound card is not working. I'v tried to install oss drivers, but there is no effect.

How can I make the security applet stop showing an update for firefox 3.5.9? I have a more recent version installed from mozilla repo: firefox 3.6. The mozilla repo already has a higher priority (95 instead of 99), so I don't know what to do.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to disable all popup notifications in openSUSE while still having it check for updates periodically. What I would like is for the notification icon to appear when an update is available but to not popup the notification message, or worse, show that dialog stating that some software sources were not available when I'm on the corporate network.
Also, is it possible to disable some updates like the recent KDE one? I right click it and there is an option to disable notification of an update but the menu item is disabled.
I am having some issues with getting Ubuntu Studio 10.04 to work correctly on my system. Everything works fine except sound. I have a M-Audio Delta 66 audio interface and my onboard sound is disabled. When I run the command alsaconf I can see the ICE1712 card without issue. However when I run alsamixer the only option it is giving me is my HD sound from my ATI video card. For some reason it seems the ATI card has locked the audio to it with no way to remove it. I have reinstalled the alsa drivers for my card and can only see it through alsaconf. When I tell alsaconf to configure the ICE1712 card it says it configured it properly.When I run the command envy24control it says no ICE1712 cards were found.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy kupdate-applet tells me it has a recommended update: KDE 4.3.5 from the official opensuse update repo. Problem is I already have a more recent version of KDE 4.3.5 installed from the official opensuse KDE repo. In yast I pressed the "switch system packages" button for the KDE repo. How can I make the update applet ignore this "recommended" update? Note that the updateApplet itself is installed from the opensuse update repo. If I don't do this, then the older update applet from the KDE repo always has a recommended update for... Kupdate-applet.

But KDE is stuck at 4.3.1. I didn't care so much when it didn't upgrade to 4.3.5, but now I really want to run 4.4.
Currently I'm running 11.4 with default 4.6.0 KDE version installed. I want to have KDE 4.6.1 as it has many bug fixes I need. So, do I have to add some repositories to update, change vendors or whatever, or I can just wait until new KDE version will come as update in the regular openSUSE update repository?
