Ubuntu Multimedia :: M-AUDIO DELTA 1010LT 10.04 - No Sound
May 2, 2010I'm pretty much an Ubuntu noob and I'm about to give up. I've spent hours reading tips and tricks to get this sound card working but I usually end up making things worse. This will be my last attempt
- onboard sound is disabled in BIOS
- Delta 1010LT is recognized
- fresh Ubuntu 10.04 32bit install . . . everything is default.
- I know how to access the terminal and for argument's sake, let's say that's it. I need step by step.
I tried to remove all instances of pulse audio in the past and it removed the desktop as well. Talk about frustrating. Ok, so here I am. Fresh install, no sound and I haven't touched a thing.

Oct 14, 2010I'm not too experienced on Ubuntu, but I'm trying to get a Delta 1010LT working on Ubuntu 10.04 minimal install (no gnome, only console).I can see the board detected using lspci, but looking at dmesg output I get the following:

if a change the model to delta1010 the driver is loaded correctly, but I assume there are major differences between the two boards so I don't get audio out, even if I unmute everything using alsamixer.Motherboard is an Intel D510MO with onboard audio disabled.

Jun 1, 2010I am having some issues with getting Ubuntu Studio 10.04 to work correctly on my system. Everything works fine except sound. I have a M-Audio Delta 66 audio interface and my onboard sound is disabled. When I run the command alsaconf I can see the ICE1712 card without issue. However when I run alsamixer the only option it is giving me is my HD sound from my ATI video card. For some reason it seems the ATI card has locked the audio to it with no way to remove it. I have reinstalled the alsa drivers for my card and can only see it through alsaconf. When I tell alsaconf to configure the ICE1712 card it says it configured it properly.When I run the command envy24control it says no ICE1712 cards were found.

Mar 19, 2011After the last updates (in which there was also the 2.6.35.28 kernel) my audio isn't working anymore. When i open an audio file, it goes foreward with steps like 5 secondos and i can't listen nothing. Videos i can see, but with no audio, and ..... videos go at like 2x speed (and also here no audio). I tried booting with the 2.6.35.27 kernel, but doesn't change anything.

Aug 5, 2011I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 with an EVGA nForce 730i Intel mobo with onboard HDMI. Video output works. Audio output does not. I'm trying to output both to a Samsung HDTV.
I tried booting to a bootable drive with Ubuntu 11.04, and no audio.
I've essentially tried everything in every other thread. I'm using alsa mixer, I've muted S/PDIF, my settings all have HDMI output selected.

Dec 27, 2010I recently installed Ubuntu on my HP Pavilion dv4-2012br and am really enjoying it, except that it is conflicting with my sound card. The only way I can hear some sound is going into System> Preferences> Sound> Output and selecting "Internal analog stereo audio" which makes the sound hollow and not at all pleasant to listen to music. When I mark "RS880 audio device [Radeon HD 4200] Digital Stereo (HDMI)" the sound is not played.
I followed step by step these instructions: [URL] yet the only way to run the audio through the "Internal analog stereo audio. "
Just adding: I used the "Install with Synaptic Package Manager" way to do it. And i'm using a desktop version of Ubuntu.

Jul 7, 2011Looks like Pulse is the cause of another problem with the ICE1721 chipset (when will this madness end!!). Anyways I have a pulseverbrose.log file that I'll pastebin here: Ubuntu Pastebin Also results of /usr/sbin/alsa-info.sh are here: Ubuntu Pastebin The symptoms are:
1. with Pulse I can play a guitar through inputs 1&2 and hear the output, but can not play any pgms like Banshee at all.
2. After "killall pulseaudio" I can then play Banshee but no external inputs, like a guitar.

2. 2.6.37.6-0.5-default Kernel

Fedora :: Sound Dropouts In 10 With M-Audio Delta 66
Feb 25, 2009I've joined this forum because I couldn't find any answer anywhere else by searching the internet. I've installed a F10 64-bit default installation (with updates until 25 Feb. 2009), using nvidia latest proprietary driver, pulseaudio, kde4, proprietary flash 10 beta 64-bit plugin with firefox. When I play music on Myspace the sound dropouts randomly each 3 to 30 seconds when using my M-Audio Delta 66 soundcard.
I'm using the same configuration in F8 without this problem. After login (in F10) and some other times I also have a Kernel failure message: ALSA sound/core/pcm_lib.c:154: BUG: stream = 1, pos = 0xaaa, buffer size = 0xaaa, period size = 0xaaa I don't know if it has got anything to do with the dropouts. There are no messages in /var/log/messages when the dropouts occurs.

Jan 30, 2011I want to listen to this audio file: [URL] but my real player 11.0.0.4028 gold desn play it, it says that there is a codec 28_8 missing, I go to relaplayer page, download the last release available for linux systems, but the message is the same : audio codec missing and doesn't play the audio.
I havev tried to play the audio with smplayer (not luck), vlc can play the audio but the pause button doesn't work so I have to listen the entire audio all the time I stop it playing. Sep 11, 2010ive been making the switch over to ubuntu from Vista and one of the last things in my way is getting my M-audio 1010lt card working in ubuntu (9.10, 64bit). I set it up so that the maudio card is the primary card and in envy24control the digital mixer shows sound, and i turn up all of the sliders (and unmute) but nothing happens noise wise.
I went into the "sound preferences" gui and was able to disable the internal sound card. It lists: ICE1712 [envy24] PCI Multi-Channel I/O Controller 1 output/ 1 input the top part is fine, but the 1 in/out is wrong. I should have access to 10in/out. Additionally, in the "settings for the selected device" drop down menu, there is no choice to select analog stereo to analog outs 1/2. How can i get the analog output in this drop down menu or find some other way to get sound working??
General :: Why Doesn't Rsync Use Delta-transfer For Local Files?
Jan 17, 2011I have a big iso image which is currently being downloaded by a torrent client with space-reservation turned on: that means, file size is not changing while some chunks in in (4 Mib) are constantly changing because of a download.
At 90% download I do the initial rsync to save time later:
$ rsync -Ph DVD.iso /media/another-hdd/
sending incremental file list
DVD.iso
[Code]....
Then, when the file's fully downloaded, I rsync again:
total size is 2.60G speedup is 1.00
Speedup=1 says delta-transfer was not used, although 90% of the file has not changed, target dir is on another FS and copying takes several minutes. Why doen't it try to speedup the transfer?! How can I force rsync to use delta-transfer?
Ubuntu :: Audio CD Extractor Doesn't Work
Jan 19, 2010I'm trying to extract files off of an audio CD using the program that came with Ubuntu. In the preferences I set the format to FLAC but when it's done and I open up the file manager, all the files are mp3. When I try to play the file with Songbird it tells me it can't read the codec. What's going on? I've extracted the music off of CDs before.

May 3, 2011you have an onboard soundcard that you have or may not have disabled in the BIOS, and you intend to use headphones with a USB sound card with headphone and microphone jacks (or no mic jack, it doesn't matter), but you notice that the headphones are detected. Alsamixer provides an interface to control the volume, etc etc, but still the headphones do not work..In my case, the module snd_hda_intel was being loaded for my onboard soundcard that I had disabled in the BIOS before booting the computer for the first time, and even though I tried to "activate" the USB headset in alsamixer, I still couldn't get the headset to work.
Solution as a trial: Open a terminal, and look to the code section for what you need to type.A big missing key to my puzzle is how to simply restart and/or reload a module so that it isn't necessary to unplug and plug back in the USB device. Can't I just re-discover the USB devices? (or other such hardware, such as a PCI card, or otherwise inaccessible component?)
