How To install windows drivers for a WiFi card -TEW643Pc card
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had an annoying couple of days beginning with a win7 reinstall on a dual boot system (win7/10.10) that wiped out grub. I reinstalled ubuntu (10.04) in the hopes of just getting grub2 back up, but that failed and I ended up with a new install of 10.04 on the partition and a happily functioning and coexisting win7/ubuntu wit grub working the way that I wanted.
However, I'm traveling, and tried to reinstall the wifi drivers manually. I think I messed something up and installed the 10.10 drivers onto the 10.04 system (I only had a 10.04 disk and the pendrive usb method failed). Anyway, when I tried to (re)install the drivers from the cd, I got the error: a later driver has already been installed. However, the problem at hand is as follows: now my win7 install doesn't see any of the wireless networks around. So, I think I somehow fraked the wifi card.
I have installed Red HAt Enterprise Linux 5.1 on my system.. Now, I want to install the sound card driver.. NIC drivers and others which are in ".exe" format, which, ofcourse Linux does not support.. There is no way I could find to convert them to tar.gz or .rpm format.. Kindly suggest on how to proceed.. Thanks.. Could also e-mail to mayank.malicious@gmail.com

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am not very new to LINUX. I was using UBUNTU for the last 1 year and I have switched to Redhat now because I am thinking of taking a RHCE certification now. Actually the problem is that I am unable to install RHEL 5.2 i386 on my i686 machine, I have bought it recently 1 week ago. I tried to use the boot parameter "linux noprobe" then it said drivers not found after 2 steps when it loads drivers.
When I tried to make a GUI install it hanged after "loading /sbin/loader" and said "kernel panic - not syncing". And when I tried to make a text install it said hanged agin after "loading /sbin/loader" and said something like "Oops: 0000 [#1] SMP". If drivers are needed then when can I get those and how can I install those drivers? here is my hardware information as "lspci" says:

Based on the some forum that I've read, adding the MODULE_LICENSE("GPL") is one of the solution. I did add it inside usb_main_dev.c and recompile but I still get the same errors.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed Xubuntu a couple of days ago on my pc (Which means im really new to linux), i got xubuntu and windows XP on 1 desktop now. After the install and all updates were done i downloaded the binary version of Stepmania (Stepmania is a DDR like game available for mac, windows and linux). Link to the download: [url]
After i extracted the game i tried to run it, which failed. Nothing happened. The file was set as an executable but it still did not start. After a while it did start, no idea what i did though.
When i start stepmania now, you see the stepmania logo in the middle of the screen (which is normal) and then i get a black screen and after like 3 seconds the game brings me back to linux again. Only thing i get is a logfile with this information:
Code:
So i am currently not able to run stepmania (uses 3d stuff) and the standard chess game on ubuntu in 3d mode, so i thought it might be something with my drivers? When i go to applications - system - hardware drivers, it says there are no drivers installed (except for a broadcom wireless driver, which i don't need because im not on wireless internet)
So i tried to download the video card driver from intel. My graphics card is:
-Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Integrated Graphics Controller (128 mb)
So i downloaded the driver, extracted it and tried to run the install.sh. I was able to start the installation with the linux console screen, but after it started to install the driver i got an error:
Code:
When I go to System>Administration>Hardware Drivers a new window pops up (no proprietary drivers are in use for this system). I click on version 177 and activate, but all that happens is a smaller window comes up (downloading and installing driver) although it never goes over 0% and then quickly disappears without any "changes applied" message.
