Fedora Installation :: F12 X86 64 Iso Dell 530 Optiarc Dvd+/-rw Dvd Can't Find Driver

I have tried both the i386 (worked) and x86 64 dvd iso installations. Both sha1sum results don't match. I got a torrent copy and it's sha1sum doesn't match either.
The problem is with the x86 64 iso dvd. It boots but takes a long time(2-3 minutes)to load ata_piix driver when the title bar says Loading SCSI driver. After it finishes loading that driver, when prompted for the installation method, if I select CD/DVD, I'm prompted to select a driver or install disk for driver. I've tried several different generic ata drivers from the list and end up with a strange memory map interwoven with a multi color(red, white and blue)
copied output as best I can.

Fedora is having trouble identifying a raid partition, it sees them as separate drives. I got drivers from dell, but during a Fedora dvd install, it mentions nothing about a place to install extra drivers.
When it says it must "initialize" the drives, Fedora then breaks the dell bios raid. How to either install the dell drivers or make Fedora see the raid partition as one?

I am a new user of Fedora 11. I am a Ubuntu user and could not get my GeForce 9100 on board graphics to work on my new computer with out crashing my computer so I decided I would try fedora. I downloaded the driver from NVidia and I am attempting to install it (Fedora didn't automatically find the driver). I get the following message:
"Error Unable to find the system utility 'ld'; Please make sure you have the 'binutils' installed. If you do have the bin utils installed, then please check that 'ld' is in your PATH."
I am running the driver from $Download as root. I don't know what ld or bin utils is or the check if I have it or if it is in my PATH.

This card has been the bane of my existence for a while. In the old days I could get it to work with Fedora using a generic video driver. A friend recommended OpenSuse because of my love for KDE.
The good news is that install went greeeeat. But after that, I once again got a black screen with a line randomly done it. Is there a way to change? I tried changing those resolution options but it didn't work. I have the Windoze driver from Dell's site. Its Dell Inspiron 5160.

i can use internet in my Laptop. My laptop is only connected with wireless. No cable connection avilable here. Wireless is functioning well in windows 7 but in openSuSe 11.2 it is not functioning. I've been configuring a kickstart installation of Fedora 14, and everything was working fine on a slightly older Dell Precision 490. The machines we're actually going to use, are Dell Precision T7400, and when I tried on thoseit had some issues with the SAS controller, and is unable to see the hard drive in the machine. I have a persistent liveusb with ubuntu 9.10 that I installed using the method on [url]
I use it on a Dell Inspiron Mini 9 netbook (that boots Mac OS X from its SSD). An ubuntu persistent liveusb works just great for occasional linux development and testing, but ubuntu 9.10 will be EOL next year, and I want to stay current.
I've installed ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS on a liveusb using the method on [url]
After I've booted the liveusb, under the network menu I see this:

A menu appears that looks like a PCI card with a lock on it. I select the only item under that menu, "Install Drivers". This gives a dialog that says "No proprietary drivers are in use on this system. Proprietary drivers do not have public source code..." etc. Under Ubuntu 9.10, I could at this point select "Broadcom STA wireless driver" and click the "Activate" button, and it would work. So I did that in 10.04.1.
It says, "Downloading and installing driver..."
While it's doing this, the "kerneloops" menu item appears. Then a dialog that says,
Sorry, the package "bcmwl-kernel-source 5.60.48.36 +bdcom-0ubuntu3" failed to install or upgrade.
Then another dialog that says
SystemError: installArchives() failed.
What the heck is happening here?
Well, it turns out that the error messages are wrong. I restarted and the DM9/ubuntu 10.04.1 was able to connect to the wireless network.
tl;dr: Proprietary wireless driver installation works, but it claims that it doesn't.

I tried adding two printers.. One remote. So I go into add printer, type its IP address.. comes up blank. no error message, it just waits. I type ipp://192.168.1.77 instead, still the same.. I eventually gave up and added the printer from [URL] Local printer. I plug its USB in. It hums for a while, pops a message saying cannot find driver and disappears. I try manually adding, again it just sits. localhost:631 saves the day again. What gives? The old printer management tool was much better, it actually worked.

I just installed Ubuntu on my brand new system that I built. I put in my cd for my HD 5770 video card, and an icon shows up on my screen XFX_VGA_V9.8C text under it.
However when I try to access it in anyway, I try to open with autorun prompt, I get a message "This medium contains software intended to be automatically started. would you like to run it?"
I click on run and get "Error autorunning software, cannot find the autorun program."
Is there anyway that I can run this disk. It's important for setup. I cant copy the disk to the desktop, I get errors.

I have Dell Vostro laptop with Core2 processor 1.8 GHz, 2 GB RAM. I want to install Fedora. I tried to install it with Fedora_14_ 32 bit and Fedora_14_ 64 bit. After booting by DVD or USB, I get initial blue screen in which I select Install and it starts for few seconds and freezes there, it does not move ahead. I got Fedora 32 bit DVD from Fedora so it should have come with checksum checked. So IMO DVD is ok, it is something else with regard to hardware detection, stopping installation to go ahead. I tried 3 times, but do not go ahead.
