I'm running FC13, and suddenly, when I try to connect a camera for picture download, the desktop icon that would otherwise open the camera's memory directory opens a network directory instead. Seems the inode is munged and misdirecting.
If I go

I get
2 gphoto2 mount on usb%3A002,005 an inode of 2? gphoto2 is broken too, but I'm not as worried about that.
I'm running 11.3 with KDE 4.4.4 and I'm trying to get my camera to work. DigiKam sees it and knows what it is but can't see or download any of the pictures on it. I'm wondering if there's some step or file that I'm missing.

The ethernet card manufacturer is Broadcom, dunno the exact number but its same in all the new laptops as the chipset is Intel's GM45.
I tried the drivers supplied by Dell but they all gave dependency errors. Since Internet is not working I can't resolve any.
The distro is RHEL 5.
In a previous thread I stated that I had updated my old dell's nvidia drivers only to receive a blank screen (of deadly doom) in return. Now however I would like to try and install them again, but this time not through the hardware drivers app. Where do I do this and which drivers should I get. My google searches has failed me.

I had a problem with not being able to get wireless working, and found out that I had to activate the Broadcom STA driver which lead to a crash. Now I've rebooted, everytime I try to install I get 'SystemError() InstallArchives' or the authenticate box hangs. Is there another way to install these drivers?

Prior to the installation, the laptop was picking up wireless signals just fine. I tried finding the drivers on the INTERNET but there are too many and I don't want to get the wrong one. Even so, I don't know how to install it through Ubuntu or anything. I tried the "disswrapping" app. but it was looking for some sort of ".if" file type. I also tried using the Terminal, but I'm not an expert on this kind of stuff. I got Ubuntu 2 days ago on my own laptop.

I have not tried again for over 6 months but don't have the time to experiment. It took me a week straight last time, I tried PCBSD (8.1), Ubuntu, OpenSUSE (11.3), and various others. The laptop was just released then, so I can understand why all the drivers might not have been compatible then.
I am hoping someone else has successfully added a distribution and can tell me which.

I installed Ubuntu 9.04 on a Dell Latitude E6410 I have neither Ethernet connection or WIFI connection.
If I could figure out how to download the kernel source for ubuntu 9.04 then I can build the devices into the kernel and get them working.
Where can I find the source for Ubuntu 9.04, kernel 2.6.28-11-generic.
Also, there are names for the Ubuntu. How to figure out the name of my OS?
Note, I tried to install Ubuntu 10 but the screen was blank after I booted off the installation CD.
I have an HP proliant ML 350 G4P. I am looking to download same sort of software that dell has called open manage for my HP. I have now idea what HP calls it. I went to the hp site to look up that server and there are a bunch of utilities but its not clear which one i need. I am running CentOS 5.
