Prior to attempting my install I did install the kernel-devel rpm so it can compile. after running the RPM I get. Quote: No precompiled kernel interface was found to match your kernel; would you like the installer to attempt to download a kernel interface for your kernel from the NVIDIA ftp site [URL]?

I have installed Ubuntu 10.04 via Wubi which has installed ok and boots fine but it fails to recognise my Wifi card or network so I am unable to download any drivers. It also sees my dvd rom drive but not any usb ports or other hardware. I have searched the Toshiba site but cannot find a fix on any of the Linux forums there.

Dec 11, 2010I've tried a number of locations, that may have old proprietary ati drivers for the 9250 v/c (video card for any one who was wondering). currently using ubuntu 10.10, and from what I've read else where either my card is too old or my OS is too new. I have seen a few site (2 or 3) for old ati drivers, but they are for microsoft, not linux.
I went to the AMD web site down loaded and attempted to install the latest drive, but to no avail. I've used the software center provided by ubuntu, I have the latest drivers from them, unfortunately can't play any of the non-flash games, either using wine, plays on linux and cedega. From what I have read (and please correct me if I'm wrong) I need to install the old drivers provided by x.org xfree86 or ati.

When i plug in a usb cable a message tells me that i have connected the correct printer, However when asked to search Lexmark does not even show up on the list to select and search. Sep 27, 2009after update to kernel-2.6.18-164.el5 one of the 2 NIC's of my machine are only found at 1 of 4 reboots. Using the old one kernel-2.6.18-128.7.1.el5 all is fine. This are the to NIC's:
00:0a.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ (rev 10)
00:0b.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82557/8/9/0/1 Ethernet Pro 100 (rev 0c)
And the Intel one, makes the problems with the new kernel.

Nov 6, 2009I compiled my kernel, compiled scsi support into kernel, used the new kernel and initrd, the boot failed.Then ,i unzip my initrd, found that sd_mod.ko can't be insert, i added it manual, and reboot OK.so, why! in the kernel configure , the sd_mod.ko is set to <M> , but why it can't be found in initrd?
