I was wondering if there's any resource that explains how to use w3m. I checked the man page but this just lists the startup options. I also did some google searches but couldn't find anything useful. I was able to find bits and pieces of info on different sites (e.g. how to enter a URL, how to go back a page, etc.) but there was no site that had all this sort of information in one place.

If i reformat to the 64 bits one, would the DVD saved aptoncd packages from the 32 bits work on the 64 bits installation?

View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to 10.04, Firefox sits showing "looking up" as it takes as much as 1 to 5 minutes to find a site and all the different things to load the site. A few sites just pop up as they should, but many take a long time to ever come up...and it is not the site. Sometimes the same site will load quickly and the next time will take for ever to find.
I have a very fast connection, everything worked fast in the old version and in windows. I have went through all the about:config things to speed up Firefox.
I'm quite new to linux and I recently (and courageously) upgraded the computer of my work from opensuse 11.0 32bits to opensuse 11.2 64bits.
Well, everything would be quite fine except that I still have some softwares 32 bits that have the 64 bits version available. I know that because, using YaST, I can see by the Installed software section that there are 'choices' of versions for some programs; these versions are 'i586' and 'x86_64', and many of them have the i586 version installed.
So, I wonder if there is some type of auto upgrade all programs which are i586 and have the matching x86_64 avaliable...
Can I install Linux 32 bits on system 64 bits?
For example if I have cpu 64 bits, can I install ubuntu 32 bits?
If yes, all drivers will befor 32 bits, right?
I just create a vm image with 2 CPUs to be used on a one CPU machine. it works great. Now, i am thinking about creating a 64 bits Redhat VM image to be run on my 32 bits machine. Is that possible?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 6TB external eSata bay (Lacie BigQuadra). I made a GPT table with only one big ext4 partition. All was ok. I resized the ext4 partition and I created a 1TB NTFS partition. I can use it on Kubuntu but Windows 7 tell me the partition is not formated. When I go back to Kubuntu, parted tell me that the secondary GPT table is not at the end of the disk and tell me it's probably an other OS that thinks the disk is smaller that its real size. It seems Windows 7 thinks the disk size is 2 TB (and modify automaticaly the GPT table and create a secondary GPT table on the middle of the disk).
What can I do to make my NTFS partition visible in Windows 7? What can I do to prevent Windows 7 to move the secondary partition table on the middle of the disk and to modify the primary GPT table ?

From a linux host, how can I find information about a lun that has been exported. For example, if I have 3 100G luns available via FC. How can I tell which is which? I've looked at fdisk, /proc/scsi/scsi, /sys, lscsi, sg3_utils. So If I want to destroy one of these luns, how can I find out how to identify it on the san device? 2.6 kernel. Not looking for something distro specific, but i have a mix of rhel5 and sles.

I have been comileing that kinect hack with the 3d video capture. i did everything, calibrated cameras and everything else but when i try to open the final program (KinectViewer) i get back this error: Caught exception Misc::File: Error opening file CameraCalibrationMatrices-B00363201643043B.dat in mode rb. From what ive gathered off the web it is not opening it because its in binaly mode or something to that affect. any tips to fix it? is there a way to change what mode im in?

View 9 Replies View RelatedIn the past week or so I've noticed some weird network behaviour. I find accessing some sites such as Amazon, Paypal, and Bigstockphoto really slow. Sometimes the page will not load at all. Other sites are fine. The problem sites are not a problem for others on my LAN at home. When I try to open the problem sites, I can see in Firestarter blocked connections coming from 2.1(8/9).xxx.xxx on various ports such as 36007. This only happens for the problem sites. I attached a typical output from firestarter.

I can ping on host name and IP but can't resolve either host or IP in browser (Receive message the connection has timed out). I can't ping the host (Windows 7 Professional) IP from the guest and vice versa. I use a mobile wireless network card, and my Windows operating systems work successfully in vmware. Currently in my VMNet8 properties I just have Obtain IP address and DNS Automatically (same as host).

The printers are ancient Newbury data dot matrix wide carriage with 7 data bits receive 8 data bits transmit Xon/Xoff flow control. Now I remember setting the transmit and receive data bits as above but after 7 years can't remember where.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi'm trying to setup my server box.. it's being setup as a web server, file server, and setup for me to be able to access it remotely (aka i do pc repair for windows users and it'd be nice to just know where ALL of my software tools are and get to them from there)anyways.. these things are almost all setup right now.. but the one thing i'm having issues with.. is the fact that this box does have 2 hard drives in it and i want to use both of them.. now i'm running straight command line and i can't find the info i need to reformat the second HDD (which is currently NTFS formated) and use it in this system... i'm running 9.04 as a server.. NO GUI INSTALLED! i need this with straight command line...What do i need to look for to figure this out? i'm having trouble figuring this out and it's really getting annoying..
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got an EeePC, running Jaunty, and I can use the Network-Manager to connect through my ibVPN account just fine. I want to also use this ibVPN account on my desktop running Hardy. I've tried to manually transpose all the configuration info, but it keeps coming up with errors (a number of errors, including sometimes "bad username/password"). So I thought: "Hey, why am I even bothering with all this manually transposition of credentials? I can just Export the account config info from the (working) Jaunty machine and then import them straight into the Hardy machine." Should be pretty simple, huh? Woulda, coulda, shoulda. I go to the VPN tag in the Network-Manager on Jaunty, select "ibVPN" (the working VPN account) and click Export. I tell it to save the info to a file called ibVPN (pptp).conf... and I get an error saying:

Cannot export VPN connection The VPN connection 'ibVPN' could not be exported to ibVPN (pptp).conf Error: unknown error You see that "Error: unknown error" crap? Means I don't even know what needs changing. Damn fool network-manager. I've tried jiggling stuff round, but nothing seems to make a difference.
I have searched all over. I cannot find any info on the description of the Fedora mirror release directory structure and the reason for having a "Fedora" and "Everything" directory? Yes I looked at [URL] I mostly work with the Red Hat 5.x. The Fedora release software is kept on a mirror and the DVD release as, (using i386 release):

so i cannot install anything because update-info-dir file is missing from /var/lib/dpkg/info/ .. I've searched for the last day and a half for a way to fix this, but nothing. can't even update dpkg because of this. so how do I bypass or fix this so I can install stuff (this is a fresh install of ubuntu 10.04 lts Lucid Lynx).
