Banshee can't find any information about track or artist with a CD in the drive. She can play it and rip without error just no info... I have had a good look about the menu's and can not find any way of changing the site where it gets the info from.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy last.fm scrobbler is, for some reason, reversing my track titles and artist names. My music is all tagged appropriately. For example, if I play:
Artist: John Coltrane
Title: Giant Steps
It will be scrobbled as:
Artist: Giant Steps
Title: John Coltrane.
I'm running Arch and using QL's default plugin. This also occurs when I use the lastfmsubmitd daemon. I have tried defining different artist/track patterns within the plugin options with no luck, though I may be doing it wrong. I used <title> for <artist> for the pattern definitions.
EDIT:Audio scrobbling works in Exaile, so now I know for sure that my tagging is not at fault.
EDIT 2Well I found the solution. I updated qlscrobbler.py with the version found here:

I'm running Banshee 1.6.0 under OpenSUSE 11.2. I listen to a lot of podcasts, and whenever Banshee ends one show and switches to another, it resets the sound volume from the value it was set at during the previous podcast.
I couldn't locate anything in the Sound preferences, and Banshee doesn't seem to have anything specific about making the playback sound sync with the system volume.
its been kinda bugging me for awhile that i cant find a way to hide the list of artists in banshee. i just want to see the album grid. is there any way to do that? i attached a screenshot to help show what i mean.

Makes me absolutely mad right now since I wanted to make a playlist with Christmas songs to play while decorating the Christmas tree. And I wanted the list to be played at random... no luck there.
Tried to upgrade via ppa to latest version but that didn't do the trick.

I'm experiencing a problem running Banshee 2.0 on my Ubuntu 11.04 system. Basically, I'm getting the following fatal error, the code of which is quoted hereunder. Of note is that uninstalling and reinstalling Banshee (through Ubuntu Software Centre) doesn't fix this problem. Incidentally or not, I also seem to have a problem with my other (and preferred) media player, Amarok. This is the error code:

I'm always happy to see improving mainstream desktop apps, especially when they start being much superior to their commercial counterparts in both, quality and quantity, of features. I can navigate grub (I'm dual booting) but once ubuntu starts to load then I am unable to use my input devices. Even using cap locks doesn't turn on the corresponding light. The new version fixed a slight bug that had made it necessary to tinker with the wifi adapter in the old version, and also seems to boot faster as advertised. However, there is one slight problem with the new version: when I attempt to engage visual effects in the appearance control panel (something which worked in the old version), the options are grayed out, as if the video driver is not installed. When I go to the hardware drivers panel, it doesn't detect any drivers to install. As far as I can remember, I didn't have to install any drivers for the GMA 3150 graphics card in the old version of UNR.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an mp4 video which includes a 5.1 audio stream, while I only have stereo speakers from my computer. It is hooked up to my receiver through the audio out (headphone) jack from the back of the machine. Anyway, I have a stereo audio stream for the video, but I can't figure out how to add the mp4a stream to the mp4.
I have checked out avidemux, but it doesn't seem to handle mp4a files. I don't want to transcribe the video, simply add the audio to the mp4 container. Does anyone know how to accomplish this in Ubuntu?
It seems that the mp4a is us encoded as AAC.
Some mp3 songs will have track informations like website address etc etc..How to remove those information...?
