View 5 RepliesIt really bothers me that when I start a program through the terminal it takes up space with the terminal that's tied up with the program, and the program itself. I know how to keep it from tying up the terminal, but when it devotes the terminal, I like that it gives output if the program crashes. Is there a way I can set a terminal to completely hide itself (off the desktop and the taskbar) while it's running a program, then reappear once the program is closed?

App is working fine but I need little modification.
1. My app name is test.app. Inside I have Contents/MacOS/test(executable)
2. I rename test(executable) as launch.
3. I create a simple bash script with name test(set executable permission) in Contents/MacOS directory inside app.
4. This script set same environment vars and finally execute launch executable.
5. This works but problem is that a terminal window comes up when launching app.
Is it possible to run the script(test) in such a way that it should not show terminal window?
When I try to boot everything goes fine until:"Starting boot logger bootlogd"

Based on that i want to implement a core file with my own project requirements.4. View 2 Replies View RelatedGot a Zimbra server FOSS edition running on CentOS5.5. Everything was running fine until couple of days just found out that web administration interface just does not give the proper status. Web console says that none of the services are running which infact is not true. Only service that is not running is logger. This is the zmcontrol status output
Code:
antispam Running
antivirus Running
imapproxy Running
ldap Running
[code]....
Just the logger service is not running all the others are. But web admin interface shows all are stopped. Also it can be seen that zmlogswatchctl is not running. Starting it manually does not do any good. It does not start and it dies out by itself.I tried to google and found a couple of bugs related to logger and web interface but those were old and should have been done in this version 6.
I'm trying to run LKL (Linux Keyboard Logger) in a Ubuntu 9.04 VirtualBox VM (VirtualBox 2.2.2 running on a XP host). The package installs fine, but when I try to run it lkl -l -k /usr/share/lkl/keymaps/us_km -o ./kbd.log & it hogs the CPU usage to 50% and never logs a keystroke (in fact the kbd.log file is never created)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble starting Fedora 14 on my computer. The startup procedure freezes while starting system logger. Before this started happening, I had formatted one of my logical disk partitions which is supposed to be mounted under the /var directory. I think may be the cause of this problem. However, I don't know how to fix it, as I can't get into the Linux command line to do a umount. I don't have a CD with which to repair the system, so is there any way to fix this problem without one?

View 2 Replies View Related(Logger pro is an app to retrieve data from scientific calculators/ instruments) I've always wanted to ask this question so here it goes... Has anyone gotten Logger pro (Linux beta) to work w/ Fedora? I have tried alien the two .deb packages to .rpm's so it becomes installable.. The installation seems fine, But the app doesn't run (I think it was like segmentation fault or something... I don't remember) anyways.. this is not absolutely important. I'm just wondering if this may be a problem w/ my install.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am using a Toshiba Satellite L355-s7915 notebook with a 17" screen. The maximum screen resolution is 1440x900, and I have to run at that resolution because lower settings just occupy less monitor space. What is means is that the image shown is still the same size, but in a smaller area. Of course print is not too big as a result. FireFox at least gives me a zoom-in and zoom-out capability when using Ctrl and either the + or - key, so that helps. But the mouse is rather small, maybe a 1/16" width. And sometimes it is hard to locate on the screen. Since the mouse pointer and the cursor positions can be in separate areas, seeing one does not help with finding the other.
Anyway, I have found that a search for a hard-to-see mouse can take a lot of mouse jiggling about, and it helps to have some place on the screen that behaves differently if the mouse passes over it. That pop up task bar that VirtualBox adds when the client is in full screen mode works pretty good for this, but if you don't know where the mouse is, then trying to move it over the pop up task bar locaton is a guessing game. I found a better way, and thought I might pass this along. You don't know where the mouse position is? Press the right mouse button. A choice of things to do pops up, and where it is, so is the mouse. In fact the mouse is in there to make a choice, and is easy to see now. Now you just take the mouse where you want to go, and you have survived another crisis.
