Oct 26, 2010I am trying to compile meep (http://ab-initio.mit.edu/wiki/index.php/Meep) with MPI (openmpi) on a RHEL machine. I was able to build the binaries, but when I try to execute it, this error message comes up. I don't know which file libguile is missing. It was installed from the official rpm repository cdrom.

For the most part is has worked w/o incident i.e. until recently when the UPS battery failed on my APC backups xs 1500 lcd. I could not view the multimon.cgi file via the localhost or 127.0.0.1 url e.g.: [URL]... I'd get 404 page not found message. After checking links here and on the web, I tried: [URL]... The page is displayed. From this discovery, I'm not sure that this is a web server configuration or a network host configuration issue or what. I'm running Lucid with all updates, no mods to lighttpd except I added the mod_fastcgi line to the lighttpd.conf file

Internet still worked before the restart.After that even though i could activate the device, i cannot view websites. I get a server not found error message. I have tried using both firefox and konqueror. Internet works in windowsIs this due to the upgrade? If so which upgrade would have caused the error?How do i resolve it

Jun 10, 2011I am using debian on kernel 2.6.38-2-amd64 with Kde 4 and I have one sound card integrated on my mother board (Asus A8N32-Sli Deluxe) with Nvidia CK804.
Often when I start debian I get a message that sound card wasn't found, therefore from the Konsole I have to reload the as:

Now I'm trying to use the same flash drive on a desktop currently running Windows Vista, but get his message when I try to boot from the flash drive:
No DEFAULT or UI configuration directive found!I tried to boot one of the netbooks from the flash drive again and that still works.I'm thinking a BIOS setting.

May 24, 2015I have just installed Debian 8 with Gnome desktop and trying to add my username to sudoers list.
When I open terminal and enter visudo I get the following error message...

Although I am quite new to debian, I have done this successfully in the past so not sure why this is happening?

Sep 30, 2010I need to use a pendrive with the Slackware 13.0 and I've tried a lot of things I've found at the internet but unfortunately they didn't work. It's not possible to use graphical interface because some reasons. So the problem need to be solved by command line.
When I use "lsusb" command, I can see the pendrive.
However, when I try these:
I got the following message: "Module usb-ohci not found" and "Module usbcore not found"
How can I deal with these problem? Because I guess without these module loaded it's not possible to mount the pendrive. Is it right?

Ubuntu :: Help With Bin File - Error Message - Bash - /hldsupdatetool.bin - No Such File Or Directory
Jun 9, 2009I am new to Linux and I wanted to setup a dedicated game server on my notebook.
I've installed Ubuntu 9.04. I than created a directory named /home/phlex/kfserver. I downloaded the application binary from Steam. I changed the file permission with chmod +x hldsupdatetool.bin and now the file attributes are -rwxr-xr-x.
The problem is when I try to run the binary file. If I type ./hldsupdatetool.bin I get an error message "-bash: ./hldsupdatetool.bin: No such file or directory. It seems the OS can't find the file. I've downloaded the file several times thinking it may have been corrupt but it's not. I can delete the file, I can rename it and so the file is there. Sometimes Linux can be aggravating to use.

I just switched to debian from ubuntu in search of something different and I want to find a system that works for me before I settle down.
I DO NOT HAVE A SECONDARY OS
just two problems I have with debian:
No sound
Error message: No volume control GStreamer plugins and/or devices found.
When I try to open sound from the speaker icon at top right.
I think it's a driver issue but Its not as easy as ubuntu was lspci:
My trackpad also does not work so I have to open documents manually if I don't bring my mouse to class.
Red Hat :: Inode64 XFS File System And Stale NFS File Handle Message
Jan 12, 2011I have a 20TB filesystem, xfs formatted. The filesystem has been mounted with the inode64 option, and I now need to NFS export it. NFS doesn't like the inode64 option at all. The NFS clients cannot access any of the directories with inode numbers exceeding the 32bit limit. They get the "Stale NFS file handle" message. I have tried to attach the filesystem to a RHEL5.3 system, and after turning on the no_subtree_check option in /etc/exports on the server, it all works fine. No changes were needed on the clients.
The problem is that I need to get this to work on a RHEL4.4 system. Unfortunately I cannot do any test on that system yet, I then did a quick test on a RHEL4.3 system... and it didn't work. Even using the no_subtree_check option was on any help. I am afraid that this will not work on the RHEL4.4 system either. How to get the inode64 xfs filesystem NFS exported on a 2.6.9 kernel?
