About Unity on 11.041. How do i change the size of the icons in the left panel (Laucher)? I only get 9 button-icones on my little screen.2. Is it possible to see system load and so on, as 'System monitor'-applet in gnome?3. Is it possible to hide the upper panel to save space? Let it show when hovering with the mouse cursor, when you already should be in the upper area?

I tried playing around with gtk-icon-sizes in the gtkrc file of my theme, but there doesn't seem to be a setting for it there. I could just zoom in/out, but when I have the icons the size I want them to be, the text is too small (see attachment).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI installed indicator-applet-complete and all the other indicator apps (applet, datetime, message, me). I know the me menu is suppose to show my user name and icon above the text box but I'm not seeing it. is there some way to fix this? Also the text box is dark, I've seen screenshots where is is white. The text I type would be easier to see if the box was white. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I have already removed all the apps related to chatting/mail/social, but the icon doesn't disappear. If I remove Indicator applet I loose volume icon, which I actually want to keep.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an annoying problem. It started with the network icon in the indicator applet in gnome-panel. It just disappeared! Somehow I managed to get my network icon back (perhaps after a restart), but as soon as it showed up, my sound icon disappeared.
I followed some advice I saw somewhere that said to add another indicator applet. When I did I had my network icon on my pre-existing indicator applet and a sound indicator in the new one, but no network icon. Because I needed the sound icon, I closed the original. But, I'm still stuck with no network icon now. This is pretty frustrating.

Kwallet is off. Then I install a wireless device under WPA. Wired icon starts to change to wireless icon, but does not and goes back to wired icon. Hovering pointer over wired icon shows wired device installed as well as wireless device. How do I keep the wireless icon in place after installing WPA to wireless device?

Next thing, gaps between icons are smaller than before. I tried change theme to default (Adwaita), then run gtk-update-icon-cache, but without result.

I have d/l and am using an icon theme I got from gnome-look. I like all the icons except for a few, specifically the trash, and would like to change them but I can't figure out how. I d/l an empty and full trash icon. I looked in the /home/username/.icons/themename folder and found the two trash icons that came with the theme (they were in ~/.icons/themename/scalable/places). Changed the names of the ones I d/l and replaced those current ones with them.how to do this? I would also like to change the Menu Bar icon back to the gnome foot.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOne day, I was altering the size of the icons to make them smaller. I first made them larger (to 150%), and then shrunk them down to 66%. I did this through Nautilus while being in the /var/www folder. The Desktop icons resized down to the 66%, as well as all other icons. However, the icons in the /var/www folder remained large (at the 150%). I've tried changing it, and no change occurs in the particular folder.
