Sep 15, 2010I have an IBM thinkpad, and the soundcard is onboard ADI soundmax. Where would I find a driver for that. It worked with windows. Now it only works if I use headphones.

Jan 11, 2011I have connected a PC running Ubuntu 10.10 to an LG TV through HDMI. I get an image, but the borders are out of the screen. At the screen dialogue of Ubuntu, the monitor isn't listed correctly. Ubuntu recognise the monitor as Goldstar Company Ltd. 52" whereas it is LG 47". I suppose it produces an image for 52", and for this reason I cannot see the borders. I have not a video card. The job is done by the i3 cpu, so I suppose it is not a problem of the card.
How can I solve it? LG doesn't provide a driver for Linux. Is there any other site where I can find the proper driver? Or is there anything else I can do to fix this? It is vital for me, as I cannot work at all with this setup.

Sprint lists this as a U300 but the actual part is a Franklin Wireless FW300DOWMX.
lsusb shows this as ID 16d8:6002 CMOTECH Co., Ltd. and ID 0409:005a NEC Corp. HighSpeed Hub
so my box can see the part.
If I can get just the 3G working that would help a lot. I would be happy to do beta, even alpha, testing.

Look for yourself [url] select notebook, then readeon, then 4100 series, for ANY operating system, it doesen't have a driver for it.
The first question is: Were is the linux driver for the 4100, and the second, if there is NO propriatary driver installed, will x take full use of the video hardware, or will it be capped and won't work to its fullest potential that it has?

Feb 27, 2011I'm trying to find a command or application that will tell me what drivers my wifi card is using.
I've been googling for a while now and all I get in return for any query I try are articles about folks having wifi troubles.
The Ubuntu install works fine but my Windows install seems incapable of connecting. I've recently realised that I think it all started when I installed 10.04. I think 10.04 might have rewritten the firmware on the wifi module and now Windows can't connect. I'm not sure if this is possible but it is the only solution I can come up with considering that I've now tried 2 different version of Windows and they both have the same problem.
Anyway anyone know of a command or app I can use to discover which driver my card is using at the moment so that I can begin my investigations.

On a minimalistic (no gui) Debian Lenny system, it only creates devices for audio (/dev/audio1, /dev/dsp1, /dev/mixer1), but no corresponding /dev/video0 (like it does on Ubuntu). How do I find out what driver it's using on the Ubuntu system so I can install it on the Debian?
