I just rescued an old Lexmark Z35 and have been trying to find the file CJLZ35LE-CUPS-2.0-1.TAR.GZ. All the links I've found in this forum and Google seem to be broken. Does anyone know where can I find them? I have a Lexmark x5250 too, which I haven't been able to use in Ubuntu. I've heard there's a way to make it work.
I want to install HP Laser Jet 2430 driver on linux. For this purpose i contacted HP support but according to them they don't have the driver of this printer for linux.
I cannot find a driver for the Brother MFC-490CW printer anywhere. I tried using the CD that came with the printer itself but that doesnt have any PPD files on there... Apparently they deemed it unthinkable that a Linux user might want to use their equipment.
I am using Xubuntu. I had trouble finding driver for this peace of hardware. Only what I've managed to do is installing OKI ML 320 driver (witch is already build in system), and print a few lines of text mixed with random characters.
I'm trying to add my Samsung SCX4500W printer to my opensuse 11.2 machine running KDE.From Yast->Printer->Add printerI am able to set the printer up, however there is no driver for my specific network printer. Samsung does provide a linux driver but I have no idea what I'm doing when installing peripherals on linux basically
I can't make work my HP LaserJet P1006 printer on USB with OpenSUSE.
It's being detected as usb://HP/LaserJet P1006 but there is no specific driver for it. I try to use the generic HP LaserJet driver but didn't work. There is no driver for P1005 model, either.
Someone had the same problem here: Cups Printer Driver Incompatibility Hp Laserjet P1006 Printer

Ok have setup my printer under suse 11.3 just fine and printing perfectly, and have added the printer to a windows 7 client, but had to get the disk to install the windows driver. Is there any way that i can put the windows driver on the linux machine so that when i go to a windows client and want to add the printer, i can just connect to the printer and the windows driver will be installed over the network like it does with windows servers?
In December I finally filled up my root partition and broke Suse 11.1. I therefore resized my partitions and installed Suse 11.3 on /root. I didn't not touch my /home partition.
Last week I had a paper jam in the printer. This has been cleared and as far as I know the printer is now fine. However the printer will not print. In url, it says printing has been paused, but I cannot find resume printer/printing anywhere.
I have tried Google, but the instructions do not appear to match where I would find 'resume printer'.I am able to provide further information.
I tried to configure this printer and clicked on "add printer" but the drop down menu did not contain my printer. Does this mean that the printer driver does not exist?
When I tried to print out a test Open Office document it came up with "printer error" However Open Suse did recognise my printer as a DX6000.
I am searching for a printer driver for my Epson Stylus NX420 Printer/Scanner. Should I use a generic Epson driver from the extensive default list, or is there a better driver out there? re: I'm running OpenSuse 11.2 and KDE
I installed the HPLips printer driver for my HP Officejet Pro 8500 Printer.
The driver often stops printing on its own (HP Device Manager => "Printer Control" tab shows "stopped"). I guess it does so when it encounters a situation where it cannot print right on.
The problem: Users without root permission cannot restart printing, even when everything is o.k.. They have to call me in order to "start printer", because restarting it needs root access.
Does anyone know how to solve the problem: either setting the driver not to turn to "stopped" or permitting a restart by normal users?
Bought a Canon all-in-one (printer, copier, scanner) today, which prints beautifully on XP & connects to our WiFi without problem. Only downside, is it can't find a driver for Linux. Anyone out there using this printer under Linux, or any pointers to the right driver?
This is my first attempt with Yum and Fedora for that matter. I need to load a print driver and network driver for an MX860 printer. I downloaded the drivers and they are in the download folder. When I try to install I get what is below. How do I resolve? Do I need to identify where the driver is? If so, how?

How do you find out which driver is being used for a certain device. Say that I run lsusb and I find "Bus 007 Device 002: ID 046d:c043 Logitech, Inc. MX320/MX400 Laser Mouse", how can I find out what the active driver for the device is?Also, is there some way to list all available drivers for a device? Is there a way to change the driver at runtime?
I have a Lenovo T410 laptop. I'm unable to find drivers for the ethernet card, the wireless card and graphics. I don't even know what hardware is installed in the system. Here is the product ID if it can help in identifying the hardware.
I can't find a be2net driver for the emulex nc553i nic that is being used on the HP 460c Blade G7. I tried to build one from the src rpm provided on the HP site but it fails looking for a be_xmt function.
I can not install a driver for device EDUP WU2070. I have a disk with a driver for linux general. I don't know how to compile a makefile. My OS 11.3v doesn't see a device. But when I run in Live CD mode all drivers install automatically and my WI-FI device work properly.
I'm trying to find a driver for this TV tuner USB dongle KW ATSC 340U. I used Yast TV Card application and it didn't have this one listed. I'm not the best at using terminal within linux, just got OpenSuse a few months ago. Is there perhaps another driver that Kworld has that is listed in Yast that could be used for this dongle?
I installed SuSE 11.2 on my laptop (its wireless and connects to the internet) and am have trouble getting my wireless HP Deskjet j4680 to be found. I tried the printer options as root, but it does not give you an opertunity to select a wireless device to connect too. Does anyone know where I can download software for this. I tried HP, no luck.
I am unable to add my USB printer via the YaST2 Printer Configuration setup tool in openSUSE 11.3. The printer, a Dell Color Laser 1320c, was last used with openSUSE 11.2, and setup was entirely uneventful. No driver is provided by Dell, so I used the Fuji Xerox DocuPrint C525A Linux driver. The problem: To add a print queue in 11.3, a Connection must be specified (parallel, USB, network, etc). However, the configuration wizard fails to show the presence of the USB print device.
[Code]...
This printer was working just eight weeks ago under 11.2, and 11.3 is obviously able to detect its presence and identify it correctly. I feel certain the solution is simple, but I haven't found documentation that provides the answer.
