What is the quickest and the most elegant way to implement the following scheme:On my computer I have two browsers and two internet channels:
1. Ethernet cable internet
2. USB 3g modem/.
When I execute the first browser it uses only the cable internet and the second one uses the USB modem.
I'm trying to crack my wep password just for kicks, but I keep running into the same error. When I try to use airplay-ng for the packet injection, it always gives me the error " wlan0 is on channel -1, but the AP uses channel 6". I've tried setting wlan0 to channel 6 manually, but that doesn't help. I spent a while searching for a solution, but it seemed like each page had a different, usually highly complex solution, that still doesn't work. I have the most recent drivers for my wireless card, and it meets all the requirements. So, is there any solution to this that will actually work?

View 7 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden, none of the applications are able to connect to the internet, except the web browser. I use Google Chrome and sometimes Mozilla firefox.
There is a network proxy and I did apply the network proxy setting system wide.
Applications like Dropbox, Messenger etc stopped connecting to internet which were working very well until yesterday.
After I've setup the ubuntu 9.10 I've found that the internet connection working incorrectly. I can ping or even connect to the internet sites with the telnet and see the raw html pages, but when I ran the software center or mozilla I have timeout error message. As a proxy settings I've setup the direct connection in both system and mozilla proxy configurations but it takes no reason. If I put the IP address instead of the domain name in the address bar of the mozilla browser then its loaded the web page correctly. It looks like this problem is relative to some system configuration of X about network (cause telnet google.com 80 working right). I'm using the dhcp connection to the D-Link DSL-504T router.

The trouble is that the websites page numbering, when it is available, doesn't often conform to my printer and the size of the page on the screen. So I guess at,say,page 6 and get something like page 3 if I printed it all out.
Installed Fedora 10 with Mozilla-Firefox, I can get out on the internet by pinging outside IP's but Firefox browser returns cannot locate www. does anyone know what package I need so browser connects.
View 7 Replies View RelatedPC seems to run fine in single channel mode but monitor reports no input in dual channel mode and memtest86+ lists from 1-3 errors per pass in single channel mode. Motherboard (Gigabyte P43T-ES3G) can't be set for the 1.65 volts required by the RAM (2x2 of OCZ3P1333LV4GK PC3 10666). The mobo voltage choices are 1.6 or 1.7 volts. I have tried both and increased the MCH voltage from 1.1 v to 1.2 v, but so far can't get it to run in dual channel mode at all and single channel mode seems to run fine but I still get errors in memtest86+. Also tried optimized Bios settings and loosened memory timings (from 7-7-7-16 to 8-8-8-27 and tRFC 60 to 70) and reset Command Rate from 0 to 2. CPU is Core 2 Quad @ 2.4 Ghz, PSU is rated at 400 watts, Video card is Gigabyte GT220.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi just installed ubuntu 10.04 on my computer, and tried to airodump, but noticed that its stuck on 11th channel, when i specified only channel 6 during scan, it gave me hosts from channel 6 and 11, but then i ran aireplay-ng and it runs on 11th channel as well, even when i put my card into monitor mode with a specific channel option. btw my chipset is AR9285 with ath9k driver. everything worked in backtrack. i also tried to reinstall aircrack which did not work.

Having got over the intel video chipset problems I tried to connect to my WLAN. Network manager would not connect. I tried switching to WPA, WEP and no encryption. No effect I still could not connect. I also noticed that network manager can find other APs much more quickly than mine.Haveing done some searching I tried removing network manager and installed wicd. Was good at finding the AP but reported it as operatingon channel 0. Still would not connect. I tried changing the AP channel to 6, suddenly everyting worked. I switched back to network manager (wicd got in a tangle over hidden networks). Still works.
Having scoured the web for help I found reference to 10.04 kernel suporting US channels. and that I should create a file /etc/modprobe.d/cfg80211, containing "options cfg80211 ieee80211_regdom=EU". I have tried this and it doesnt have any effect. I have noted that there are numerous variants of this advised by different people.Whilst at home I can operate my AP n a US channel, when I am on the move I cannot. Alright, I've looked through a many variety of forums to search for the answer to this problem and haven't found it yet. What is happening is during use of my internet browser, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, on Ubuntu 9.10 there are points in time, could be 10 minutes could be 3 hours, that the interface locks up. The mouse is the only peripheral that works, but nothing happens when clicking and the keyboard is locked as well.
Now I'm new to Ubuntu but not computers, I can work my way around Microsoft Windows and just recently took the jump to Linux and have been working myself in slowly. The problem I'm having seems to occur when using Java oriented websites, yet I can't figure out what the problem is, I've tried installing and re-installing java to no avail. My mind is boggled as to the cause of the problem, but I'm open knowing that there is a lot more to go in the troubleshooting than I'm normally use to.

I am trying to audit my wireless router due to someone in the neighbourhood hacking it, and have run into a few problems. When I run airodump-ng, everything works fine. However, when I try to get the .csv file and run "airodump-ng -w test --channel 6 --bssid ---------- mon1" (obviously with my the mac address of my AP instead of x's) I get this:
CH 6 ][ Elapsed: 4 s ][ 2011-02-02 17:48 ][ fixed channel mon1: -1 ] The problem is the [ fixed channel mon1: -1 ], because when I go to the next step to try to force a handshake, it says:

18:00:34 mon1 is on channel -1, but the AP uses channel 6
I have scoured the Internet for answers, and have seen several people with the same problem, but no solutions that work for me. I think it may have something to do with the driver. I really do apologise if this has been answered properly several times, but none of the solutions seem to be working in my case.
I have a netbook with a onboard WIFI card(Broadcom 5727(rev 01)) and a Realtek RTL8191S USB WIFI donge. Both work.
My problem is; I can't get these to scan for AP's running on channel 12 and 13.
Is there a way to fix this?

I'm having a really weird sound problem with my computer, an ASUS running both Windows VII and Kubuntu 10.4
For some reason, no sound seems to come out of any Internet Browser. Other than that, it works fine. So far, I've tried Google Chrome and Konqueror.
I work for a firm of solicitors as the IT guy and I have been asked to assess the security of our network. I have recently bought an ALFA AWUS036H USB wireless adapter to help test the wireless networks. We have a few old devices that only run WEP, which I know from the start is bad. I'm trying to use the adapter with aircack. I issue the command:

Now I set the adapter to channel 11 using airmon but running iwlist mon0 channel says the adapter is not running on any channel at all. Has anyone else experienced simular issues, and if so how was this resolved?
I'm using wifi "usb card" from airlive with zd1211 driver in Fedora 12 OS. And I cannot access channel 12 and 13. Perhaps for US restrictions. But in EU are allowed. Any idea how to enable them?
iw phy told me the card has 14 channels width but last 3 are disabled.
I tried "iw reg set EU" but "iw reg get" still return me "Country:98"
Also set env. variable COUNTRY=SK and execute crda returns me: Failed to set regulatory domain: -22
in dmesg I can see the regulatory domain is first set to EU but when zd1211 is loaded it is set to US
I'm surfing along just fine when I select some link in my browser.The status line reports "... waiting for ..." and the browser seems to stall for a long time (minutes). Often, but not every time, I can select the STOP toolbar icon and reload the page. This time things work normally.
I have a similar but different malfunction running Evolution email connected to my hosted IMAP server. I select a message and see "... formatting ..." and then Evolution seems to stall for a long time (minutes). Rarely the stop-reload actions help reading email. Instead,all Evolution windows go dark grey and the entire desktop stalls.[Analysis -- It has the feel of a "network" issue provoking issues within Evolution itself rather than an Evolution-only malfunction.]
Watching the running system with 'htop' and similar, I do not see where some other application or service is sucking all of the available CPU time or such. [Analysis -- It has the feel that either the browser message or the email message were sent into limbo without reaching their intended destination. Stop-reload sends the bits to the right places and so I get results.]

The problem is whenever I start the download, I cannot access the internet via my web browsers, Chrome AND Firefox. Altho, I can use Pidgin or Empathy to communicate. Why should I do ? I am assuming it is causing some sorta congestion .. I tried giving the downloads "low" priority, applying temporary speed limits but it doesn't help.

For some reason the unmentioned former disto, I could not get wireless networking under this configuration and a simple wlan0 interface, in case either cable were to sever it would retain a wireless. The bonding was done for speed, and I believe I can't get faster than mode=4.
I just setup a new LAMP server (CentOS 5.5 x86_64) box with channel bonding on NetXtreme II BCM5709 Gigabit Ethernet (IBM x3650 M3). The problem is I wasn't able to connect to this server when I'm in different VLAN's. This server also unable to ping different VLAN's. But everything works fine when I transact in the same VLAN.Here's the config:

I hooked up a wireless PCMCIA linksys card and got connected to my wireless and went through the first 250+ updates, all that went fine, so I know I am getting internet access. Everytime I open firefox though I cannot connect to any websites, like I said I am a noob so my troubleshooting skills are very limited with linux, anything I can try etc.
