Ubuntu :: Can't Log In Owing To "Error In Service Module"?

I have an acer aspire one 150A running Ubuntu 10.04 netbook remix. Some weeks ago the netbook would not boot up and after fiddling for a while It came back to life but I was unable to login with the message "unable to open session". If I tried to log in from the terminal it told me "error in service module"Their is already a post about this issue which I have added to, http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1523153 . However, no one has posted a solution so I thought I would create a new thread to see if anyone would reply. Apologies if this is not the correct procedure as I have only just joined this forum in an attempt to sort this issue out

I recently installed 10.04 with a realtime kernel and after running some upgrades I can now no longer log in. It was previously set to automatically log in, now I get to the log in screen, click on Automatic Login and it says: Unable to open session. If I click my username and then enter my password it says the same thing. I can ctl-alt-F1 to the CLI and if I then enter username and password I get:

Got this error when I tried hash checking, was downloading the file using rtorrent when there was a sudden powercut and my system shutdown abruptly, tried restarting the torrent and kept encountering problems while restarting.

When I try to load the Realtek 8187 modules to kernel using the ./wlan1up command, I get the following error:

Can someone tell me how to correct the "Invalid module format"? I hope that correcting the "Invalid module format" error, I will not have the "Unknown symbol in module" error.
Note: I am using wlan1 for this module as I previously am online with the wlan0 network.The same error occurs if I use ./wlan0up.

I've been unable to boot into x using the real-time kernel from CCRMA at home. I get the error "Failed to load module "nvidia" (module-specific error,0) no drivers available. I'm using the driver from Nvidia. I know that this is not an official Fedora kernel and I should be bothering CCRMA about this, but in the mean time could I edit the entry in grub.conf so that it will use the Nouveau driver for that kernel only? That way I could "dual-boot", and just use the rt kernel when I want to use audio software and don't need 3d graphics.

I have done some research and it seems I need to get rid of pam_stack.so in /etc/pam.d/su but I can't find out what to use in its place.
Below is a copy of my /etc/pam.d/su file:

From what I understand, I need to replace the line "auth required pam_stack.so service=system-auth" with "auth include system-auth"
My problem is how do I then go about limiting access to su based on group membership without pam_stack.so?

OK Trying a fresh install of bnome openSuse, and I have certainly screwwed something up again and hope I don't have to reinstall again., arghhhh! Tomboy won't open, even after reinstallation, and below is the error, but first, as well I can't open my .odt file with openoffice writer!

I have a small problem when you switch from your previous version to 9.10 (karmic). My problem is connected with TV tuners, who previously drove by the following commands:
sudo rmmod saa7134 saa7134_alsa tuner
sudo modprobe saa7134 card=78 tuner=54
sudo modprobe tuner secam=l

Use a player who is TvTime. For now I have picture but no sound and I think that occur after the upgrade (as mentioned above). The error that I go when I enter the commands in the console is: The first command, the output is:

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 x86 64 bit Desktop.I want to accomplish setting up a virtual host environment for education reasons. How may I accomplish this? I am trying to solve problem with software which needs to have access to network card I suppose. Installation run without any problems but when I am launch software I get such message as normal user:
Cannot register service:
RPC: Authentication error; why = Client credential too weak.
When I launch program as root I get this:
WARNING: localhost appears to have the loopback address 127.0.0.2 as IP address
This may imply that processes on arlin may not be able to connect to non-local processes but program starting with success at least. What I should do to run program as normal user?

I am using fedora9 server I installed & configured httpd ,mysqld & heartbeat service its well and running but every 10 to 15 days httpd service is stoped when I tried to start the service
I am getting this below error:

I got the out put below like I wait 5 to 10 min but the proses will going on I killed the process I tried to start the service but I got same error. When I restarted my O/S the problem is rectified but every 10 to 15 days same problem I am getting.

I am running Server 10. I have a requirement to perform an action before the MySQL service starts, and perform another action after MySQL service stops.
I found the init script for MySQL under /etc/init/mysql.conf. I added my thing to the pre-start script there and works fine.
I am having trouble finding the script that stops the server so I can modify.

for the last few releases, starting with 9.04 i've been having serious crashing problems with the nvidia driver. whether i installed it manually using the latest drivers directly from nvidia, or installing them through the restricted driver option. after a few hours CRASH. it's been awful. and i tried everything from this side to the moon to fix this issue, all to no avail. no idea why i've even stayed with ubuntu after all these issues. came from the debian world back in 5.04, and almost moved back a few times. but i did a clean install of 10.04, and thought i'd give the nvidia driver one last chance... if it didn't work i'd be moving back home to debian (with the suspicion the issue would stay).
so after i tried the restricted driver and CRASH. nothing to fix it. then i thought ok i'll try to use the latest driver from nvidia. but ran into this error when installing it:

I am installing Nagios Monitoring tool in RHEL5 and I got stuck at one point. The details are as follows:
Nagios version:3.0.1
At the end of installation when I try to execute the command
