Ubuntu Servers :: ERROR Module Fcgid Does Not Exist
Oct 3, 2010
I am running Ubuntu 10.04 x86 64 bit Desktop.I want to accomplish setting up a virtual host environment for education reasons. How may I accomplish this? So far I am going by this following guide: URL... But when I get to the part of entering the command in the terminal "a2enmod fcgid" I get the following error: "ERROR: Module fcgid does not exist" I've been pulling my hair and spent a ton of time trying out how to set up suexec and virtual hosting .
I have Apache/2.2.14 (Ubuntu) DAV/2 SVN/1.6.6 mod_fcgid/2.3.4 Phusion_Passenger/2.2.14 PHP/5.2.10-2ubuntu6 with Suhosin-Patch configured In UBUNTU 10.04 I like to install apache2 mod_perl I make apt-get install libapache2-mod-perl2 and I get: Quote: libapache2-mod-perl2 is already the newest version.
Ok I try sudo a2enmod mod_perl ERROR: Module perl does not exist! how I make Perl work in apache2 UBuntu 10.04
I'm still getting my head around setting things up on my web server, I've configured php to run off of Fast CGI, rather than mod_php, due to better memory consumption. I've managed to get my virtual hosts configured to work with fastcgi, ensuring the following options are set:
I tried adding those settings to /etc/phpmyadmin/apache.conf, but this doesn't seem to work. Whenever I go to www.mydomain.com/phpmyadmin , I just get a 403 Forbidden Error. This used to work no problems on mod_php.
[URL].. because the alias is set so that my virtual hosts can access it through /phpmyadmin. There is probably something basic I am missing here.
I've installed openSuse 11.4 server-mode (text only) on my desktop, and I'm trying to configure IceWM so i'll eventually have it set up so it always boots into text only mode, but I could be able to quickly start icewm via the command line.using Yast, I installed the Xorg server, and icewm.when I type X, the screen goes black and it just doesn't seem to do anythingI found if I hit ctrl+alt+f1 it kinda puts me back into text only mode, but I can't put in commands anymore. The last thing it says on the screen is:
Failed to load module "fglrx" (module does not exist, 0)
I've goggled that error message and the discussions that popped up around it made no sense to me at all. I've never configured X from scratch before, can someone point me towards a tutorial or something?
I cannot find the Xorg configuration file on my newly installed Debian on my tablet-pc, so I followed this tutorial [URL] and ran the command "Xorg -configure", to which I got the following error messages:
(EE) Failed to load module "vmwgfx" (module does not exist, 0) (EE) vmware: Please ignore the above warnings about not being able to load module/driver vmwgfx (++) Using config file: "/root/xorg.conf.new" (==) Using system config directory "/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d"
I'm trying to enable the rewrite module in apache, to enabled the module I followed the last entry in the fist page this thread:[URL]...When I restart the apache all works fine, so I supose it's enabled
Now I create .htaccess in my apache folder (/home/user/apache), and I write this:
Code: RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^link([^/]*).html$ test.php?link=$1 [L] And I try to execute this: ./.htaccess, I have this mistakes: Code: ./.htaccess: 1: RewriteEngine: not found ./.htaccess: 2: Syntax error: "(" unexpected What are I doing wrong?
nits@nits-desktop:/mnt/Storage/Tors/Incomp$ btdownloadcurses --check_hashes 1 filename.torrent /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/BitTorrent/Storage.py:4: DeprecationWarning: the sha module is deprecated; use the hashlib module instead from sha import sha
These errors occurred during execution:
[09:37:48] IOError - [Errno 5] Input/output error
Got this error when I tried hash checking, was downloading the file using rtorrent when there was a sudden powercut and my system shutdown abruptly, tried restarting the torrent and kept encountering problems while restarting.
Can someone tell me how to correct the "Invalid module format"? I hope that correcting the "Invalid module format" error, I will not have the "Unknown symbol in module" error.
Note: I am using wlan1 for this module as I previously am online with the wlan0 network. The same error occurs if I use ./wlan0up.
I've been unable to boot into x using the real-time kernel from CCRMA at home. I get the error "Failed to load module "nvidia" (module-specific error,0) no drivers available. I'm using the driver from Nvidia. I know that this is not an official Fedora kernel and I should be bothering CCRMA about this, but in the mean time could I edit the entry in grub.conf so that it will use the Nouveau driver for that kernel only? That way I could "dual-boot", and just use the rt kernel when I want to use audio software and don't need 3d graphics.
I would like to find where logs form dmesg(command) are stored on my hdd drive. I'm testing broken hdd with badsectors, and I've got some i/o errors, that I can read (just the most recent) using dmesg command (dmesg buffer). I would like to see whole log, that is interesting for me, but I cannot find where it is stored in /var/log
dmesg command(buffer) (last few lines) Code: [245129.080558] end_request: I/O error, dev sdb, sector 218246624 [245129.080562] Buffer I/O error on device sdb, logical block 27280828 [245132.037921] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Unhandled sense code [245132.037925] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Result: hostbyte=DID_OK driverbyte=DRIVER_SENSE [245132.037928] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Sense Key : Medium Error [current] [245132.037932] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Add. Not sure if this is the right place fo this but....I'm just learning to write bash scripts. I'm experimenting on a ubuntu server 11.04 virtual machine. As part of the script I want to automate user creation. Is there a way to check if a user already exists in a script. so i can do something like
Code: if userexists; then do this else do this instead fi
I currently run a server. The web server (Abyss X1) runs on Linux, and the MTA server (MERCURY) runs in a virtualized Windows environment, within Linux.
I am soon going to be building a dedicated server, and at the moment it looks like it will be a Windows-based server, as I can't find MTA software for Linux with the feature I require.
I need MTA software that can show me network verbose output in real time, as such does MERCURY in the following screen shot: [url]
Does anyone know if such MTA software for Linux exist?
MERCURY does not work correctly under WINE, so the WINE method is not an option.
Have Apache running on Ubuntu Server. Say I have a domain, www.somewhere.com, and I have uploaded a file, phpinfo.php. If I hit http://www.somewhere.com/phpinfo.php, I get my file as expected. However, If I hit non-existent file http://www.somewhere.com/phpinfo/somefile.dat, it also acts as if I hit phpinfo.php, instead of giving me a 404 error. It seems that because the DIRECTORY "phpinfo" does not exist, it decided that I must have meant to hit phpinfo.php at the root of the site.
If I create an empty "phpinfo" directory then it behaves as expected and gives me a 404 not found page. This is reproducible for any other file name you can think of. I'm sure this is some Apache convenience behavior but I would like to disable it (it is messing with some mod_rewrite stuff I would like to do). Because it's hard to describe I cannot figure out which Apache option it might be (whatever I Google for gives me completely unrelated results).
OK Trying a fresh install of bnome openSuse, and I have certainly screwwed something up again and hope I don't have to reinstall again., arghhhh! Tomboy won't open, even after reinstallation, and below is the error, but first, as well I can't open my .odt file with openoffice writer!
now the error... #tomboy Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module": libcanberra-gtk-module.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "gnomebreakpad": libgnomebreakpad.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory ...and lots more
When using the following cifs mount command, mount -t smbfs -o username=username, password=password //srv/shr /usr/localfolder/and the cifs share does not exist, localfolder is mounted like d????????? ? ? ? ? ? localfolderafter a number of time , when umounting we get a kern <soft lock>Is there any way to fail the mount if the destination share does not exist, ive had a quick look through man mount but can not see a solution.
I have a backup of /oracle in redhat linux advance server 2.1,i have taken that backup by tar -cvzf command when untar this backup by tar -xvzf command the following error occurred-"Error exist delayed from previous error"
I've downloaded Ubuntu 8.10 and I have installed it within ms windows. My first problem was when I went to boot Ubuntu and the graphics weren't right so I rebooted it with a different graphic configuration and it installed successfully. When I went to boot Ubuntu a second time to actually use it I got the following error: ALERT! /host/ubuntu/disks/root.disk does not exist. Dropping to a shell! BusyBox v1.10.2 (Ubuntu 1:1.10.2-1ubuntu6) built-in shell (ash)
After 2 months away from Fedora i am using it again, and used yum update to update stuff, everything was running fine, downloaded stuff, but 2 of the 666 stuff to install got error, here is:
I got the "The file '/var/log/syslog' does not exist." message when I tried to run KSystemLog as well as "The file '/var/log/auth.log' does not exist." when I tried to view the authentication log. There is no icon beside the items "Krfb," "KSystemLog," and"Nepomuk Backup" in the "System Tools" menu of Gnome.
when I reviewed the error_log I found that it is logging thousands of errors which are similar. I've included a sample of the errors. The following error seems to happen constantly, from many different ip's...
Code:
[Thu Apr 22 01:02:06 2010] [error] [client (the ip address removed)] File does not exist: /home/virtual/site4/fst/var/www/html/colombia-news,
I am in the process of migrating my old server into new Linux new server. As part of the , apache configuraton is one of the process . i have installed http with yum. i added some test dir like /date/test underwhich i created one test.html. When i start apache , it says Starting httpd: Warning: DocumentRoot [/data/test] does not exist.i am not sure about it. I have directory exists. however it shows the error message.
We've had this server running before but two hours ago there are some domains outside which we cannot send email to. this is a sample of the message we get

Our server's been running smoothly before but i dunno what happened. I can send mails to gmail and yahoo as well... but there are like 3 domains which we cannot send mails to.
From what I can figure out, grub can not figure out which disk has my root file system. I checked the partition labels and they match the UUID that are in my fstab.
Plan to use GRUB for multiple booting to select the OS but only with luck have I got it partially to work. Windows 98 and Puppy 431 O.K on first HDD but Puppy 421 on second HDD /dev/sdb1 stops at error 21.
