DKMS make.log for rr174x-2.4 for kernel 2.6.35-22-generic (i686)

I upgraded to 10.10 this morning and VMWare v7.1.2 (build 30145 failed to compile the necessary modules for it to startup. I found a patch that others have had success with here:[URL]
Code: make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.35-22-generic' CC [M] /tmp/vmware-root/modules/vsock-only/linux/af_vsock.o
We are using LPC3250 ARM9 and LTIB for building the Linux 2.6.27.8 We have written some code to access GPIO and was working earlier with opensuse 9.0 We now have fedora 11 32 bit 2.6.30.10-105.2.23.fc11.i686.PAE When we make the program we get following errors we are using GCC3.4.5
Can someone tell me how to correct the "Invalid module format"? I hope that correcting the "Invalid module format" error, I will not have the "Unknown symbol in module" error.
Note: I am using wlan1 for this module as I previously am online with the wlan0 network. The same error occurs if I use ./wlan0up.
I'm trying to get Virtualbox up an running. So I have added virtualbox in my repo and added the key, looks fine so far. but afeter downloading I get this:
VirtualBox-3.0.8_53138_rhel5-1.x86_64 Creating group 'vboxusers'. VM users must be member of that group! No precompiled module for this kernel found -- trying to build one. Messages emitted during module compilation will be logged to /var/log/vbox-install.log.
Compilation of the kernel module FAILED! VirtualBox will not start until this problem is fixed. Please consult /var/log/vbox-install.log to find out why the kernel module does not compile. Most probably the kernel sources are not found. Install them and execute /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup as root.
I installed [URL] and everything mixed up! I tried to remove it and I get this error: Error while creating client module OneClickInstallUI My Graphic Card is NVidia Quadro FX
I recently bought the Edimax 7781Un wireless modem specifically because it works with Linux. The OS does recognise the device and tries to connect to the router, however it connects and has the two semi-circles going round then it eventually disconnects. I thought it was my wireless device with little signal strength therefore I bought this one. However this one connected once for 20 seconds, 89% strength and disconnects. I booted up win7 and it works fine, so I have put it down to the driver or the OS.
Trying to compile the driver, I am up to the make step after following instruction here. I type make, it does a few things and errors a fair few things, the last line ending in [make] *** [LINUX] Error 2
Another possibility (I think) for this connection problem could be my AMP installation, however I have neither apache, php or mysql running and I still have the problem.I read somewhere that make requires more files, is this true? And if it is, where can I get it without an internet connection on my linuxbox? (I am currently using my brothers w7 computer).
nits@nits-desktop:/mnt/Storage/Tors/Incomp$ btdownloadcurses --check_hashes 1 filename.torrent /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/BitTorrent/Storage.py:4: DeprecationWarning: the sha module is deprecated; use the hashlib module instead from sha import sha
These errors occurred during execution:
[09:37:48] IOError - [Errno 5] Input/output error
Got this error when I tried hash checking, was downloading the file using rtorrent when there was a sudden powercut and my system shutdown abruptly, tried restarting the torrent and kept encountering problems while restarting.
I'm using Vector Linux for years without any issues, But I'm really paining with configure X for perfect performance for my newly bought(only 1 month old) PC (which has the intel 845G graphic chip)
I also tried compiling the official driver from the Intel site but the compilation fails. After that I used i810 driver in xorg.conf, Its not stable and not reliable. Finally(even now) I'm using vesa driver,Its stable but I cannot play videos.video grabs always.
My gentoo laptop doesn't have a serial port, so I got a usb-serial (RS-232) adapter from ebay. However when I plug it in, the only thing dmesg mentiones is: Code:usb 5-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2I've tried to look for a kernel driver in "make menuconfig" by pressing "/" and typing 232. Nothing about RS-232. Device Drivers -> Character drivers -> Serial drivers has 8250 and UART as a module. Device Drivers -> USB support -> USB serial converter support has in-kernel: USB generic serial driver, and FTDI Single port driver as a module, but it still isn't getting recognized. Is there some module i forgot to enable, or do i have to download a separate module from somewhere?
I have Centos5.4 loaded on a late 2008 MACBOOK Pro and would like to get wireless working. I've attempted to download the broadcom driver and create a driver module with no luck.
I've been unable to boot into x using the real-time kernel from CCRMA at home. I get the error "Failed to load module "nvidia" (module-specific error,0) no drivers available. I'm using the driver from Nvidia. I know that this is not an official Fedora kernel and I should be bothering CCRMA about this, but in the mean time could I edit the entry in grub.conf so that it will use the Nouveau driver for that kernel only? That way I could "dual-boot", and just use the rt kernel when I want to use audio software and don't need 3d graphics.
I'm simply trying to compile a vanilla kernel from Kernel.org, I've done it before, however "make menuconfig" returns an error after I've made my changes to the config file.
Code:
Why is make returning that error? I am using a 64-bit kernel.
I am getting a weird compilation error with malloc.h/usr/include/malloc.h:86: error: expected ')' before '__size'This is what the code looks like inside malloc.hextern void *(*__morecore) __MALLOC_PMT ((ptrdiff_t __size))When I did some googling, it was stating that ptrdiff_t was not defined; but, it is.#define __malloc_ptrdiff_t ptrdiff_t
I get the error "could not open obex://some_long_MAC_address...please do something..." when I try to browse my samsung using bluetooth.
My phone's service list indicates all but one service item(modem) are present. I can send stuff to it but not the other way round. Someone told me that debian distros have bluetooth problems.
Also, when compiling kernel 2.6.36.5 and 2.6.37-etc, I get the undisputed error concerning the 'lguest' feature. How do I turn it off?
I've been reading about a temporary solution to the kernel/Fglrx issue caused by the last kernel update, but I haven't read about any permanent solution to this issue. Anyone know anything about a permanent solution (new kernel update?, new Fglrx driver?) to this compilation error?
When trying to compile Armadillo on a computer cluster I get the following error after running "cmake ." (works OK) and "make":
/usr/bin/ld: /share/apps/opt_intel/lib/libblas.a(dgemm.o): relocation R_X86_64_32 against `a local symbol' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC /share/apps/opt_intel/lib/libblas.a: could not read symbols: Bad value collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[2]: *** [libarmadillo.so.1.0.2] Error 1 make[1]: *** [CMakeFiles/armadillo.dir/all] Error 2 make: *** [all] Error 2
Cmake says it has successfully found BLAS, but there is still a linking problem.
I'm currently in the process of getting my server moved over from a Server 2003 machine to one based on Fedora 12. My issue is that I have an existing RAID5 array on a rr1740 card. When I install this in the new system each individual drive show up as sdc sdd etc not as one volume. I have tried installing the highpoint driver but I get an error that sata_mv cannon't be unloaded. I have tried adding this to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist to no avail.
System currently looks like this. ASUS mini ITX Atom D510 based board with 2x on board SATA, attatched to these are a 160GB OS drive, 400GB data drive. Highpoint RR1740 PCI card with 5x500GB drives in RAID5.
