OpenSUSE :: RPC Authentication Error - Cannot Register Service

I am trying to solve problem with software which needs to have access to network card I suppose. Installation run without any problems but when I am launch software I get such message as normal user:
Cannot register service:
RPC: Authentication error; why = Client credential too weak.
When I launch program as root I get this:
WARNING: localhost appears to have the loopback address 127.0.0.2 as IP address
This may imply that processes on arlin may not be able to connect to non-local processes but program starting with success at least. What I should do to run program as normal user?

Distro is SuSe 11.1. Btw: I do not get this message on Suse 9.0. Pace_old runs properly there.

I have a problem with ldap client authentication in ubuntu. I am using rhel5 as openldap server and I configured ubuntu as client, when I am trying to login the following message is coming."su: Authentication service cannot retrieve authentication info. Sorry"
But when I do search through "ldapsearch" command output is coming without any errors, Can anybody explain what would be problem.

I am setting up Fedora-13 with "389 directory server" for authentication. I had performed the following steps.
1. Install FD-13.
2. Yum install 389-ds.
3. Run script to configure.
4. Start 389-condole and create few group and user for testing.
I can see these user with "ldapsearch" and with "phpldapadmin". It looks my server is responding. However, I am unable to see any user name with "getent passwd". also "ssh server_user@server" is not able to login. Whereas "getent passwd" shows local user and "ssh local_user@server" is able to login. Also note that I am not using ssl, so want to avoid ssl.

LDAP server: 389-ds
I have set up the 389 server using the default configuration. Adding user and http/pam authentication works fine. The problem I have is the client authentication. On the client machine, using "authconfig-tui" to turn on LDAP authentication it turns on sssd and use 'sss' in etc/nsswitch.conf after 'files'. I couldn't get sss working. In the end, I disabled sssd and manually changed 'sss' to 'ldap' for all configuration files including:
modify /etc/nsswitch.conf
modify /etc/pam.d/password-auth, change all sss to ldap
modify /etc/pam.d/system-auth
change /etc/sysconfig/authconfig
FORCELEGACY=yes
After these, client authentication works. I can log in to the client machine using user/password set on the LDAP server. I thought this is done but everyday the LDAP service stop functioning once or twice. I can't log in to the client machine using LDAP username/password. After restart the dirsrv on ldap server, things back to normal. I can't find any reasons from /var/log/dirsrv/ldap-xxx error file and don't know how to debug the problem.

I'm extremely new to SuSE Linux. I wanted to move away from Windows and so I decided to reload my Desktop with SuSE linux.I have had no trouble until now. I'm trying to connect to my work VPN connection. From my laptop (which unfortunately is Vista) I'm able to connect without any issues. However, when I tried out the KVPN application on my SuSE linux, it just doesn't work. I get the error:
Authentification has failed.
As a side note, when I type ping google, the packets are received 100% but when I ping my company address, no packets are received. Hope this info is useful.

I am re setting up a server of mine running red hat enterprise Linux server 6 and I had all of this working befor but for some reason I had troubles getting sasl to work and now when I login my smtp server I get an error stating that my username or password is incorrect though I am sure I am entering both correctly. Would anyone know what could be happening? I have been spending days on the web looking for the solution and only went from sasl not working when started as a service to this. For some reason I can't use Pam with saslauthd and had to use shadow instead of which from what I hear I get to use better methods of secure authentication with smtp

I have a problem with the NTLM proxy we use in school. YAST proxy configuration won't work, it just says authentication error. We have to login with the user in DOMAINuser style and a password, in Firefox it works.

After timeout is over a SIP account does not register again automaticaly, manualy can be unregistered and registered again. Changing timeout seconds does not make any difference, re-registering does not happen. Is there is a way ekiga can be forced to re-registered itself automaticaly?

We're trying to replicate something that Windows servers can do. Basically on a Windows box, you can give it a static IP address, but there is an option to have it update the DNS server with it's IP and hostname. We are trying to do this on SUSE 11.I know I can get this function to work on SUSE if the box is set up as with DHCP. What we're having difficulty is when the server is set up as a Static IP to get it to update the DNS server

I've recently installed matlab and after some poking around found that you must start it using a script like:
#>> cd ~root/../matlab2009/bin/
#>>./matlab
the manual tells me that the installation should have made it so that all you have to do is type matlab at the terminal but for some reason this hasn't happened. If you did not set up symbolic links in the installation procedure, you must enter the full path name to start MATLAB, matlabroot/bin/matlab, where matlabroot is the name of the folder in which you installed MATLAB. I've also looked at documentation on ln but most refers to making links between files. Is there a way to link the command "matlab" to the file shown above so all I have to do is type the command and it runs the script?
p.s: Here's what I've tried:
#>> ln -s ~root/../matlab2009/bin/matlab matlab
linux-2fs6:/home/alex # matlab
If 'matlab' is not a typo you can use command-not-found to lookup the package that contains it, like this:

I installed fedora 15 last night, everything installed ok, but i noticed that when i shut down and before i log on, even just running from the cd, a brief message saying something along the lines of "Register 0x00004030 not found in PLL" comes up.
Is this normal? ive installed ok and every update so far has worked so i dont think its a corrupt install. Ive gone back to ubuntu for the time being but I wish to go back to fedora, though I just want to know what this error is

I wanted to install TeamViewer (for Linux). I downloaded the RPM, but when I double-clicked on it to start the installation I got the following error: The name org.freedesktop.PackageKit was not provided by any .service files I Googled around for possible solutions but I couldn't find any. Does anyone know how to fix this error and install TeamViewer? I'm using openSUSE 11.2 with GNOME desktop.

i have been running Ubuntu for about 3 days now, finally getting all my files moved back to the drive and what have you.I came from running windows, and an Android phone with full su access, and done up all custom-like..I am loving the speed, etc. great experience so far. BUT: the headphone port on my laptop is broken, and so I run [ran] and external soundcard, a Creative X-fi 5.1 USB SC. I have found linux drivers for this unit, and am trying to install. I have googled the crap out of how to do this, yet am getting stuck.
Here is where I'm getting stuck. I have extracted the package, entered into the sub folder, and am trying to run the Make install:

I recently installed 10.04 with a realtime kernel and after running some upgrades I can now no longer log in. It was previously set to automatically log in, now I get to the log in screen, click on Automatic Login and it says: Unable to open session. If I click my username and then enter my password it says the same thing. I can ctl-alt-F1 to the CLI and if I then enter username and password I get:

I am using fedora9 server I installed & configured httpd ,mysqld & heartbeat service its well and running but every 10 to 15 days httpd service is stoped when I tried to start the service
I am getting this below error:

I got the out put below like I wait 5 to 10 min but the proses will going on I killed the process I tried to start the service but I got same error. When I restarted my O/S the problem is rectified but every 10 to 15 days same problem I am getting.
