Sep 20, 2010Is this safe? A good idea? What's causing this? It's called "pullin-msttf-fonts".

View 5 RepliesI'm getting this error:
PackageKit Error dep-resolution-failed: patch:mozilla-nspr-5022.noarch conflicts with mozilla-nspr.i586
I would like the updater applet to offer updates other than security fixes from the base repos. For example I would like to be notified automatically about updates for VLC and Chrome. How do I do that?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using openSUSE 11.3 with KDE 4.5.4. The updater applet works fine for me, however I think it only checks for updates from the update repo. I tried to modify this behaviour by right clicking the icon and checking "show available updates, when the backend provides it(for experts)" (translation from polish so it may not be 100% accurate) but the behaviour is the same, it only prompts me when there are updates available in the update repo but I would like it also to prompt me when there are updates available in the packman and KDE stable repo. Is it possible to force the updater applet to do this ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got OpenSUSE 11.4 to work on my Gateway NV79. However, I can't get the built-in software updater to download anything. When I click on the updater it starts and begins and appears to be working, but it doesn't do anything. I check the system monitor and it says the updater is sleeping. I can't get the updater to continue.
I'm using a wireless connection. On 64-bit OpenSUSE 11.4 Gnome.
I have got this to work before, now will not resolve dependencies and says something about not finding the mirrors. Are the repositories offline for some reason as this might explain the problem. Here is the error..Cannot download headers
failure: repodata/filelists.sqlite.bz2 from updates: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try.
I tried looking for it in the Software Center but it doesnt have the install button. It used to work just smoothly in the previous versions of ubuntu. Do i need to download anything before installing it? I need it for compatibility with MS Office
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've read a number of posts [URL].. that state that the Microsoft fonts, formerly msttcorefonts, but now (supposedly) called ttf-mscorefonts-installer should be available in Synaptic Package Manager.
Neither is present in mine- I am running Lucid Lynx 10.04 and I have both font multiverse and universe enabled; althoguh, the wiki link says I should see hundreds, but I only see about 30 total in all 3 font repositories. So I then tried apt-get tff-mscorefonts-installer and I got the following error: E: Invalid operation ttf-mscorefonts-installer
What gives? Is this package no longer available? Should I be looking in some repository other than Font?
I just today installed Fedora 15 Gnome 3 64-bit and I can't get the software updater to download anything. I click on the updater and it runs and starts. The status label says its downloading package lists but nothing shows up in the window. When I check the system monitor it says the updater is sleeping. I can't get it to continue.
Also my network connection runs very slow. I'm on wireless and I only have two to three bars, but when I boot into windows 7 the wireless runs fine on two to three bars. Is there a some settings I can do to fix this? How to configure Fedora 15 wireless to run normally?
when I go to software center, it shows the ms core fonts but there is no install button. I have loaded the restricted extras and medibuntu repos. not sure why it is not working. ubuntu version 10.04 btw.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhenever I launc YaST software manager it keeps telling me my disk is full.
It's quite right, it's just that the disk in question is a mounted openSUSE CD iso which is 100% full - as it should be.
Is there any way of stopping YaST doing this - I'd like to be able to tell YaST which fs to ignore but a even a full stop would be better than a warning every time.
I have just installed openSUSE 11.2 X86_64 on my laptop, I then used KDE to install lots of type 1 fonts for my printer. These get loaded to /usr/local/share/fonts/...These installed fonts are visible to KDE (KWRITE) and GIMP so I assume that the installation was O.K. When I start openOFFICE writer I do not see these fonts. The font selection appears to be the fonts located under /usr/share/fonts. I have not tried other ooo3 components. I assume that they are not going to see the fonts either.
I have searched google and it appears that /usr/local/share/fonts is the correct location for non-packaged fonts. Has anybody any idea what is wrong? I think I could move all the fonts to /usr/share/fonts and ooo3 would work but this seems to break the installation directory structure. I have considered symlinks but I don't like the idea of defining a font twice to Linux and creating the syslinks is more work than reinstalling the fonts if they are lost
I cant use the option "export" from the VPN settings in the Gnome Network Manager, when I tried to export a popup says "Unknown error"This happend also in 11.3 and now in 11.4, so it is a nm-applet problema I think... Is there any other way to export my VPN connections?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm on OpenSuSE 11.1, and since I needed some features of Firefox 3.5.x I manually updated via 1-Click intall to 3.5.8. Now the Updater-Applet signals a security repo update for FF 3.0.18 which is no longer installed since replaced by the 3.5.8, and I see no way to get rid of the red warning sign; this is very bad since now I get no longer informed about other new updates to really installed packages ....

After booting up openSUSE 11.1 i586 this morning, I got a message I had never seen before:

Yes No
So I said Yes. But then it wanted root access, which I declined to provide and canceled the thing, whatever it is. Now, of course, my updater is displaying the yellow triangle with the ! in the center. This is the creepiest thing I have encountered since starting to use openSUSE several years ago. Did this result from some kind of screwup by the folks of openSUSE?
I keep getting this error. packageKit Error dep-resolution-failed: patch:choqok-3320.noarch conflicts with libqoauth1.x86_64 When I go to the YAST software manager and search for libqoauth1.x86_64 it doesn't hit on anything. What gives here?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm running 10.3, KDE, 32bit. I am working with a fresh install. The updater stated that I had updates , I accepted the updates. At this point the updater failed in some way. It did not become a zombi but stalled. I quit the updater. Now when I try and get online updates using the sys tray updater it sais none available. When I use yast online update it has some recommended updates but does not install them. I rebuilt the rpm data base and this did not help.
How can I "reset" the updater. I believe that it thinks that it did go thru the updates and therefor cant see that they still need attention.
My openSUSE 11.4 adventure continues apace, and is brilliant! However, recently the Gnome 3 Software Updater has begun to show me an update I cannot get and actually I don't think I need. It doesn't turn up when updating via YAST, which is fine, but sometimes the Software Updater is a handy thing, and I don't know why this should appear.
The update is xorg-X11-server - Mesa 4546 noarch. This seems to be for Radeon and RadeonHD cards, of which as an Nvidia user I have neither. Like I say when using YAST there's no sign of it, but it just turns up in the Gnome 3 Software Updater every day. If I try to install it it tells me there are failed dependency resolutions and it doesn't install it. Is there anything I can do to remove this unwanted update from the Gnome 3 updater?
Suse 11.0 nvidia software repository not working when the updater is run, and it gives an error message which indicates it must be out dated and no longer used. Here is the site in my repository for nvidia; [URL], I did try to add a new nvidia repository site with that Yast tool, but I could not get it to fully work. The new one I did find was as a ftp type, not [URL]. With this older Suse 11.0, and kernel 2.6.25.20-0.7-pae, then is it true that there may not be any more nvidia display driver updates available.? So then I should just remove that nvidia repository from the list, and be okay if the kernel does not update too much newer version, right ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy kupdate-applet tells me it has a recommended update: KDE 4.3.5 from the official opensuse update repo. Problem is I already have a more recent version of KDE 4.3.5 installed from the official opensuse KDE repo. In yast I pressed the "switch system packages" button for the KDE repo. How can I make the update applet ignore this "recommended" update? Note that the updateApplet itself is installed from the opensuse update repo. If I don't do this, then the older update applet from the KDE repo always has a recommended update for... Kupdate-applet.
