OpenSUSE Wireless :: Suddenly No Wireless Network Card

I am running SLED 11 and My Networkcard is Intel PRO/Wireless 5300. In short, it is not there anymore! I mean I was connected and everything and the next time I restarted It could not detect any wireless network. I deleted the wireless network card in hopes that the OS will automatically detect it on startup and set it right but NOPE. When I check the hardware information in YAST, it is listed there and it is also working under Windows.

I clicked "Network Settings", and I found that the ip address was wrong, which is "192.168.1.10/24", and netmask field is empty, so I modifed the configuration file located in /etc/sysconfig/network, named ifcfg-wlan0, added one line(NETMASK= '255.255.255.0'), saved it and reboot the system. After rebooting the system, I still found the ip address is wrong and netmask field is empty, so I have to use ifup command to activate my card manually every time the system starts.
Today I changed my home router's security setting from WPA to WPA2, and my openSUSE 11.4 Tumbleweed system's network stopped working.It is very strange, because it can connect to the wireless no problem and it gets ip address and everything, but I cannot access any websites. I tried to revert the router setting back to WPA, but still the same.Funny thing is I can actually open the router admin page.
Even I plugged the wired lan cable to my laptop, but still the same. It connects, but no internet.Where should I look? My the other laptop with openSUSE 11.4 connects to the same router without any problem.

I have Lenovo G550 and openSUSE 11.4. Everything's ok, wifi without problems, I could connect to anywhere I wanted to, but yesterday while laptop was running and was connected actually by wire to internet, after removing the wire I realized that I cannot connect to wifi (the laptop was hibernated during night) - even the light diode in the front of the laptop was not shining. I went to yast and realized that the wlan0 isn't enabled and there's new eth1 port. But the wlan by ifup I cannot start and the eth1 I cannot start as well.
using opensuse 11.4 on laptop--we went down the shore and I added a bunch of wireless connections and it was working down there, but now we came back and I deleted all of them except my wireless network connection. I'm not sure if anything else was messed with as others were using this laptop.
When I start up the networking icon says Unavailable.....when I click on it greyed out is "Network Management disabled" and "Enable wireless" The Wireless light on the laptop is a solid orange. When it is working it is flashing.
What do I do to troubleshoot this? I am fairly noobish to linux.
The problem with my wireless network. I have Dell DV6 Pavilion 2115 eg laptop and i installed Ubuntu 11.4 and internet and wireless worked, until i reboted my system it has disapear. I have a dwa-125 dlink wireless card which will not work. This is my first time using OpenSuse 11.2 (Well OpenSuse period). I had the same problem with Ubuntu 9.10 as well. I can't get on the Internet at all not even through Ethernet. (It recognized my Ethernet hardware but doesn't connect.) I got the broadcom-wl drivers from Packman and installed those and it still was a no go. I tried to get the drivers straight from Broadcom and those didn't work. I couldn't compile the source code from the Brodcom site because i could not get build installed (got make installed but build just didn't install.)

So decided to try a fresh install as ubuntu was having issues every update for me. Regardless i can't seem to get my wireless working and i'd really appreciate some help as i have no idea what i'm doing.
Using a hp pavilion dv5 1235dx.So my network card does show up it's a broadcom 4312 pci id 4315.Installed the b43 & wl drivers but it didn't help. The hardware switch is stuck at orange but in ubuntu it would function despite this(sometimes ).

Well this my first time working with linux and openSUSE, and I love it. But one problem I can't overcome is my network card is not working. I went to bestbuy and bought the dynex enchanced wireless G card. Model # dx-ebnbc ver. 1011
I installed wine to run the .exe but that did nothing and gave me that the dll is not registered. openSUSE detects that the card is plugged in but the card does not light up or activate in anyway. The only way I can connect to the net is through an Ethernet cable.
I am having trouble getting a Realtek RTL8101E/RTL8102E PCI Express Fast Ethernet controller to work on openSuSE 11.3. Most of the data for the problem is in this pastebin of the output of Framp's collectNWData.sh. I have also downloaded drivers for this card as detailed below.

I have a Acer Revo R3610 nettop on which I installed oS11.3. It has an Atheros AR5001 wireless network adaptor.I'm getting very bad latency and throughput on with this card. In comparison my Thinkpad with Intel card achieves at least 10 times the throughput from the same location. Also when I boot my wifi will come up authenticate and then a few seconds later disconnect and reconnect. I've tried updating the kernel to 2.6.35 as one of the fixes was to improve the performance of the ath5k driver. I'm using wpa2 authentication.
Is there anything else I paste that will help determine the cause of the bad throughput. Browsing the web or copying files across the network is bordering unusable.
I have searched and have not found anything specific to my issue. I am currently using NDISWrapper to load the bcmwl15 driver and when it's active it works beautifully.Problem is sometimes at boot, the card doesn't "turn on" and I don't know how else to describe it. The OS does not even detect that the hardware is present. I have disabled wireless hotkey in BIOS. The only way to make the wireless card "active" is to reboot with the wiredconnection to the router. After doing that the wireless card "wakes up" and works awesome.Is there anything I can do to make sure the driver load at boot?mes I get the error that NDISWrapper is not modprobbed when I go to network configuration and if I wish to do i now? I don't know if that has anything to do with the boot sequence. Using the <modprobe ndiswrapper> command as root does nothing permanant
when it comes to openSUSE but I am earnestly trying. I installed the openSUSE OS on my HP dv6000 laptop, but it does not seem to recognize my wireless card (which is a Broadcom 4311).
I installed 10.3 (after buying it a couple of years ago and letting sit on the shelf) and can't get it to configure my ethernet connection or my wireless card. Yast doesn't include a list of available cards, and the error I get in installation-network setup is that the kernel isn't present. The machine I'm installing this on is a Lenovo, in which there isn't a discrete ethernet card (it's in the motherboard), but my wireless card (a Cisco LINKSYS 802.11G) is a discrete card. Because I'm divorcing Microsoft for a number of valid reasons, I don't have Windows available on that box.
i installed suse (KDE) on my old notebook and now I'm trying to get the wlan to connect to our router and can't figure out how to get it to work. My card seems to work, the network manager even finds the router, but i just cant get a connection. I followed the steps of the "Getting Your Wireless to Work" thread and these are the results:

wifi card:atheros ar5007egOS: openSUSE11.4My laptop can't connect on network after system hibernate. It has been asking me for enter the wifi password. But when I input the wifi password it still can't connect on network. I have to reboot it.
My wireless device is an integrated Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-Card, I am unsure about the driver I have in use. I am sure I have a driver installed because the configuration screen shows my network. I currently have the computer plugged into my network via CAT 5 but I would like to be able to use the wireless (obviously.) I am using Open SuSE version 11.2 and I have run the updater. I could not see my wireless network before running the updater and I can now so I know that the updates have helped but I am again stuck. I have tried to search the wireless forum and I have tried to tinker with the settings in YaST , but nothing seems to be working. I have read and taken to heart the advice given for receiving help and if any more is needed I will gladly give it. I have a small amount of experience with SuSE Enterprise edition so I can understand some technical stuff but I am best at following specific instructions.
