OpenSUSE Network :: Maillog Error While Enable Emailing On Zabbix?
May 14, 2010
i am getting the following error at maillog while i try to enable emailing on Zabbix server
tail /var/log/maillog
May 14 10:03:19 localhost sendmail[21522]: o4H63J8U021522: monitor-xxxxx.com [127.0.0.1] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA
How do I activate static DNS for mobile broadband. I can't find any place to write down this information. Settings are made in Network Manager - not Yast.
Does anyone know how to permanently enable X connections from all machines on my local network. I keep having to enter 'xhost +' to allow X connections.
I recently installed OpenSUSE 11.2 and everything works fine except wi-fi card, of course. The problem is that after installation the system recognized the card (is was listed in network devices in Yast) but I was unable to enable it through network-manager applet. Though the device could make scanning through terminal (found article in docs but didn't fully understand wpa_gui). Then i was stupid enough to delete the device from Yast list to try to reinstall it. So the problem is that i simply can't do this cause i see no way to re-detect. That is the goal is to at least turn back to post-install system state and try to enable wifi card again.
I am using OpenSuse 11.3 and Network Manager is giving me a headache by not connecting to WEP based wi-fi network. It works in a wi-fi at my office while at my home, it shows / detects the network but keeps asking me over and over.
Network Manager works for a while on Sony Vaio notebook and then it will become disable. Is there an easy way to enable it. I have installed 4 or 5 times to get it enabled. There must be a simpler way then reinstalling opensuse 11.3
I am new to OpenSuse and want to exchange files wirelessly between Windows and Linux computers in our office. I run 11.1 Gnome on a 64-bit laptop. When I want to share a directory in my Home Folder, I get the message:
'net usershare' returned error 255: net userhare: usershares are currently disabled
so I wrote a simple script to scrape whatsmyip.org for my public IP address and then email it to me if it has changed. I set this up as a cron job ever 30mins.the problem is, it works for about 18 hours and then will have an issue where it says "line 33: [: too many arguments" Which line 33 happens to be my if statement. Now like I said it works fine for about 18 hours, i run the script with 2>&1 to a .out file so i can see what its doing...this is the output of the .out file, the "xxx" does actually show the ip.."PHP Code:
eth0: 192.168.0.0/24 - local lan A eth1: 200.1.2.3 - internet link - default route eth2: 192.168.10.0/24 - local lan B eth3: 192.168.20.0/24 - local lan C Lan A - Default routing to eth0 Lan B - Default routing to eth2 Lan c - Default routing to another server but the workstations has static routing to this server too.
Everything is working fine on Opensuse 11.1 until I upgrade this sever to Opensuse 11.2 ( Reinstall, not update at all ). After upgrade to 11.2 the routing across local lan interfaces simply not work, if you try to ping lan-to-lan you got the message: Network unreachable, even with the IP Forward enable, but the default route is working fine trough the SNAT.
I've come back to Opensuse 11.1 and everything become normal, does anyone have an problem like this? Maybe a bug? PS: I do not try to disable the AppArmor, next weekend I will try Opensuse 11.2 without the AppArmor and post here anyway.
How can I enable the network with Networkmanager WIHTOUT logging in in OpenSuse 11.2? If I define a connection for ethernet the System connection is greyed out. I want to use Networkmanager because I have also wireless connections...
I have a minor problem with Knetwork-manager. When I boot up, it won't connect to my wireless router automatically. I have to right-click the taskbar icon, disable wireless, then enable wireless, then it connects fine.It remembers the password fine and once it's connected, it's flawless. It's just the minor issue of having to effectively 'switch the internet on' rather than it just being connected when I turn on my laptop.
I'm using Opensuse 11.2, KDE 4.3.1 (didn't have this issue with 11.1). I've tried the latest Kubuntu (9.10) and knetwork-manager worked flawlessly but I didn't like the rest of the OS so I came back to Opensuse If I restart, suspend or hibernate it usually connects okay, it just seems to be when I boot from 'cold'.
I've tried nm-applet but same problem. I also tried wicd but it didn't really like my system. I've changed my wireless router recently as well with no change, so I don't think it's that. As I say it's a minor problem, it's not really an issue for me to turn it on each time but it would be nice to clear it up. I've googled and searched since 11.2 was released but haven't found any answers and my linux skills are still a bit lacking.
I was able to build a NFS server and a NFS client using OpenSuse 11.3 and connect them together using gigabit ethernet through a switch. These are the only 2 devices on this net (192.168.1.xx). I tried to set the MTU to 9000 and 9014 but learned that the Realtek 8169/8111 only support up to about 7200 MTU. So I inserted Intel NIC cards on both and set both to 9000. The system accepts this and I can ssh from one machine to the other. Both NFS client and server start w/o issue and the client mounts the device just fine. But when I try to copy a file on the NFS client from the local disk to the server, the client just hangs and I have to physically turn the machine off in order to get it to work. Both systems are using the stock software from the DVD (I didn't update either).
I want to share my WiFi internet connection over LAN, so I'm trying to set up IP forwarding. An old tutorial tells me to go to Network Settings in YaST to do this, but that applet says that NetworkManager is now handling all of that stuff. How do I enable IP forwarding while NetworkManager handles my internet connections?
I am facing two issues with CUPS - 1. I have installed cups 1.3.9 over OpenSuse11 x86. Please check below -
cups:/usr/share/cups/banners # cups-config --version 1.3.9 cups:/usr/share/cups/banners # cat /proc/version Linux version 2.6.27.7-9-pae (geeko@buildhost) (gcc version 4.3.2 [gcc-4_3-branch revision 141291] (SUSE Linux) ) #1 SMP 2008-12-04 18:10:04 +0100
I have added few printers over there and everything is working fine. I can also able to add - delete - modify any printers from "yast2 printer" command. I can also able to browse cups web interface via http://cups:631, but when I am going to manage the printers (start - stop - delete etc), none of the buttons are working in firefox5 not even in IE also. Older version of firefox is giving error as "This address uses a network port which is normally used for purposes other than Web browsing. Firefox has canceled the request for your protection." All other buttons are working properly.
2. LINUX - LINUX Printing - OK LINUX - WINDOWS Printing - OK WINDOWS - LINUX Printing - NOT OK
While giving printing from Windows machine (Printer attached on Linux), there is no problem to coonect the printers, but unable to print.
I install from openSUSE-11.3-NET-x86_64.iso. Installation was succesfull, but after install all packet on test internet / update was error. And after log in in installed system internet not work. I use router with DHCP
I'm working with OpenSusse 11.2. I installed and activated the NFS server via yast2. I exported the relevant directory via yast2 (NFS server configurastion) I'm trying to setup my Linux target to boot via NFS. The kernel boots up but fails to mount the file system. When looking on a capture from ethereal it can be found that the NFS server return error when client try to mount the /nfstest directory from this server. The returned error is 13

I installed the server and client from the repositories. I got version 1.8:

Got everything running, apparently normally, but then I noticed the GUI Installation tab. This helped me optimize the php.ini file so the pretty front end could be used. I got the step 7 where it says
