Got everything running, apparently normally, but then I noticed the GUI Installation tab. This helped me optimize the php.ini file so the pretty front end could be used. I got the step 7 where it says

Does anyone have experience install,configure zabbix on Fedora. I already install using yum but i don't know how to configure. I already install zabbix agent, zabbix server but don't know how to configure.

My usual aptitude safe-upgrade routine has not throw any errors. I do remember a libxcb-* package updating (or installing?) on the last run. This is the only relevant package I can recall.
A few days ago I upgraded from debian 7 to 8. First I update, upgrade and dist upgrade - change source list and again update, upgrade and dist upgrade.When inserting a USB disk on key, it works okay. When plugging my WD "My passport" backup USB disk it does not work. The automatic mount works, but the disk can be accessed.I tried to do it manually in a format that worked on debian 7..Manual mount fails too.

I instaled HPML350 G6 server. I would like to configure ethernet fail over. I got the script from my friend and configured and restarted the network services. I am getting the error message that ""Deprecated configure file /etc/modprobe.conf, all config files belonging to /etc/modprobe.d". System automatically assigning IP address also.

The only changes I made in the config file were the processor type, and I disabled CONFIG_SYSFS_DEPRECATED_V2 to avoid some warnings from udev.
When I tried to build the kernel package, this is what I get:

Searching for this error turned up a plethora of results, none of which seemed relevant.
I see that it tells me to file a bug report, but I'm not sure if that is meant for the Debian kernel team or upstream.
I have a very strange problem.ometimes, yes sometimes not all the time, I get a Destination Host Unreachable when I ping a computer on my network. If I switch to root using su I can ping that same computer. Here is a screen shot:

Running Debian stable. I added the following command to rc.local and made it executable:mount -t cifs -o username=ted,password=computer,uid=mooreted,gid=users "//192.168.1.121/Storage Volume" /mnt/vortexAfter rebooting dmesg throws the following error:

I made a bootable USB flash drive for ubuntu 11.04 32bit. I went to the setup and setup the booting option to USB drive. Now I am trying to boot from USB drive it give an error message:

When trying to boot a USB disk image of either 10.10 or 10.04 I get an error saying that no syslinux configuration file could be found and "syslinux error: No DEFAULT or UI configuration directive found.".
The USB disk was created using the Startup Disk Creator on Maverick.
I'm guessing the second error is just caused by the first, since the syslinux.conf definitely isn't there. Thing is, I've used the 10.04 image before and it's worked fine, so I'm starting to think it's the Startup Disk Creator that's at fault.

I have been playing with Nagios and Zabbix all day with not much luck. I have managed to get both installed and running and researched for hours. I just need to figure out how to add domain names to be monitored and I am stuck. I know you have to do it in the conf files but I cannot get a domain to show up?
I recently installed an Ubuntu 10.04LTS server. I have zabbix-server on that machine, and I noticed that after reboot it won't start. Probabily, the mix of upstart and old init.d scripts result in zabbix starting when mysql is not active yet, in fact in zabbix-server.log I see it cannot reach db. How can I make sure zabbix-server waits for mysql?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Windows 7 partition, a fat32 partition that I use for moving data between Windows and Linux, and an Ubuntu partition. On the Ubuntu partition, I can right click on a text file and the top of the menu says "open with 'gedit'." On the fat32 partition, the same action says just "open," and the "open with" submenu doesn't include gedit.
If I right-click and choose properties on the same file, the "open with" tab shows gedit as the default file association. So that's weird... anyone else seen anything like this?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my file/media server to Fedora 11. After doing so, I can no longer copy large files to the server. The files begin to transfer, but typically after about 1gb of the file has transferred, the transfer stalls and ultimately fails with the message:
"Error writing to file: Input/output error"
I've run out of ideas as to what could cause this problem. I have tried the following:
1. Different NFS versions: NFS3 and NFS4
2. Tried copying the files to different physical drives on the server.
3. Tried copying the files from different physical drives on the client.
4. Tried different rsize and wsize block sizes when mounting the NFS share
5. Tried copying the files via a different protocol. SSH in this case. The file transfers are always successful when I use SSH.
Regardless of what I do, the result is the same. The file transfers always fail after approximately 1gb.
Some other notes.
1. Both the client and the server are running Fedora 11 kernel 2.6.29.5-191.fc11.x86_64
I am out of ideas. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Whenever ubuntu starts tho it tries to do a check on the /home partition and fails.... it gets an error saying unable to check then drops into a shell. I have to run it in recovery mode frequently then start it up and it usually works, but i have to type startx after logging into a shell before that

I'm having problems installing Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook onto my Asus 900. I downloaded the .iso then used the "make startup disc" feature in my Mint 9 desktop machine to make a usb install disk. All appears well at that point. When I try to boot from the usb stick, I get an error message as follows:

I am installing ubuntu to amazon EC2 by following the steps at [url] The installation works fine.
Then I want to gain Remote Desktop Access to Ubuntu, so I follow [url]
However, fail at sudo /usr/lib/nx/nxsetup --install due to this file is missing.
I then use putty, navigate into /usr/lib/nx to run command below.

But, it always come out with permission denied issue
I also try to upload the .tar.gz file via winscp to any of the possible directories.

I just finishing burning ubuntu on my laptop and was getting ready to partition my disk to allow space for ubuntu. I restarted my computer and when it was restarting ubuntu logo came up (as it booted from the disc). I was not wanting to install it at this moment so i was waiting for it to load then cancel it(just like a windows installation).It then froze and became pixelated with green and white colours.I thought it was nothing maybe just an error in teh disc. I waited 5-10 minutes then held the power button to shut it off. I then went to settings in the bios and changed it to boot from hdd first. After restart, windows began to load for like 3 seconds then blue screen.
