View 1 RepliesI've a 'Terratec Cinergy S2 PCI HD' DVB-S2 Card, which don't work with openSUSE 11.3. ('Terratec Cinergy S2 PCI HD' same as Hardware as 'HDTV-Karte SkyStar HD 2', 'Twinhan 1041', 'AzureWave DVB-S2', 'AD-SP400', 'DigitalRise DVB-S2', ...).
1. The VDR-WIKI shows me, that the card should normally work with Mantis DVB Driver. But the openSUSE 11.3 Kernel includes it.
2. The 'yast2 tv' don't find a driver and also no mantis driver is shown (same as 'HDTV-Karte SkyStar HD 2', 'Twinhan 1041', 'AzureWave DVB-S2', 'AD-SP400',
'DigitalRise DVB-S2', ...).
3. I follow the description on the linuxtv.org page. So I add in the '/etc/init.d/boot.local' the following line:
Code:
4. lspci shows the following output:
Code:
Code:
5. dmesg delivers
Code:
For me it looks like good - but so I see it right, vdr doesn't work with them.
First my system data:
- OpenSuse 11.4 x64
- KDE SC 4.6.2
- Terratec T5 / Cinergy DT USB XS Diversity -> linuxtv.org wiki
I have a this new USB DVB-T Stick and the tv reception works perfect. I tried to set up the remote control as well, but i got stuck. I followed this instruction.
excerpt from lsusb:
Code:
Code:
When I try to record the keys with the command
Code:
Irrecord does not recognize anything. This input device is also mapped to /dev/input/ir but this device doesn't work neither.
I also checked the remote cotrol with a digital camera: it sends ir light on pressing a key.
I have a combined analogue TV/FM radio/DVB-T USB stick Terratec Cinergy XS. This stick used to be supported by the em28xx-new driver, but it has been discontinued since a few months ago. A patch for 2.6.31 has surfaced, but I cannot find one for 2.6.32, thus it doesn't work any more. A similar model with USB ID 0ccd:005e is supported directly by recent kernels, however I have a 0ccd:0072.
View 1 Replies View Relatedlong time ago that I tried to use my DVB-T Stick with Fedora. In past there was a work-out, drivers to compile and so on... That behaviour is GREATLY enhanced in F12, very nice!
The only thing that a had to do was downloading the firmware, the other stuff remains by kernel and so on automatically. I WAS impressed.
But it doesnt matters what kind of programm/tool I used, nowhere was my DVB-T stick recognized. And for result of that, Im not able to view TV... What the heck is now going on?
No errors, driver correctly loaded, but nothings works?
Here is the dmesg-message, U can see everthing looks okay:
Code:
Here is the message when I start kdetv, that program tries /dev/vbi0

I'm having issues with a Terratec T3 DVB-T USB stick. It seems that ubuntu is recognizing it, but it isn't usable in Kaffeine or VLC anymore. The funny thing is that is WAS working, but after installing some codecs, upgrading to a new kernel and rebooting it stopped working, and it is no longer detected by both apps... Kaffeine says "no available device found", VLC gives a similar error.I've tried booting the machine with the old kernel, but the issue remains. I don't think installing codecs (x264 for example, tried removing it, no success) has anything to do with it, so I wonder what went wrong?
Oh and one more thing; in gnome device manager there is a question mark next to the stick. So there might be something missing on the system after all. linux-firmware-nonfree was installed and reinstalled 10 times or something, still no go, not even after a reboot.
who has been able to make sound recordings with a Terratec DMX 6fire 24/96 soundcard? My Audacity does not find any source to capture from.

I have a Wireless PCI-Express Adapter which I wish to install the drivers, though am having difficulty. The chipset on my card is a Ralink. I have visited the Ralink Website Ralink corp. and downloaded the RT2860 Wireless Lan Linux Driver version 2.3.0.0. I have extracted the files within my home directory. I have read the readme file, and from what I understand I have needed to do... I have typed in the Make command as a "super user". Unfortunately I have had no success and it states the following output.

I have an EeePC 4g netbook which only has a 4Gb hard drive and I thought I would like to install Fedora 13 on an 8 Gb SDHC card and use it to boot the netbook.
As neither the netbook nor I have an optical drive, I made a bootable USB memory stick using Unetbootin which boots the netbook and could be used like a live CD to install Fedora.
On booting with the live USB stick, with the blank SD card in place, and clicking on the install icon, the installation starts but then there are 2 problems; the first is that the installer appears to want to install to both the SD card and also the USB stick. There is a tick in the box beside the USB stick which I can't remove.
I decided to ignore that and put a tick in the box beside the SD card but when it got to the point where it creates partitions it said "Could not find enough free space for automatic partitioning. Please use another partitioning method"
Surely 8 GB is more than enough space for partitioning, so where am I going wrong and why does it want to install on the USB stick as well?
Im trying to configuring TERRATEC H7 in Ubuntu kernal version 2.6.38.2. I followed the steps given in [url] .But im getting compilation errors. Also i would like to know this linux has this device support.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using a terratec EWX 24 96 sound card with ubuntu studio, and I have sound with the digital output, I have no sound with the digital input.
I had sound with the same configuration in Windows XP, and all the hardware is ok.
I think I have no sound at all, with Ardour or Rosegarden, that's like if the digital input was not here in jack.
I search at FFado.org for this soundcard and it says that it's fully supported, but I can't get it to work.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a little experience with ubuntu but i have had bugs that are not resolvable at this time in ubuntu. so instead of giving wild bill back my pc i am looking for a new distro. my concerns with ubuntu revolve around acpi. no fan control and high temp. the 2nd problem that is almost overlookable is the ata1 softreset error. it usually is no problem but occasionally have to do manual fsck to fix. so heres my laptop specs. toshiba a305d-s6848. amd turion x2 ati x1250 integrated. 3gb ram. 500gb hd vista and ubuntu 9.04 dual boot grub with 100gb ubuntu and the rest vista. so q1= what suse version would be best?
q2= is suse's acpi better? ubuntu runs all features but fan control
q3= is suse as easy to install? or harder
q4= ati graphics i know for my card went to legacy what version still has the ati drivers for my card
q5= is suse easier or harder to work with and get everything working.
i know no linux is or opsys is perfect. im just looking for one that is stable and works the pc correctly. i know its a big thing to ask. i know no one can tell me that. but just looking for suggestions. im thinking of downloading suse and does all the downloads support live sessions.

I have 2 GPUs in my system, a HD4870 and a HD4350. The HD4870 has a Benq 24" and a Dell 17" which are working fine in a multi-display desktop setting (No Xinerama) configured via CCC.
On the HD4350 I have a single Samsung 17" which in CCC is listed as '[Unknown Display] Unknown adapter' and cannot be used. How can I get that working properly so I can configure it as an additional screen in this setup?
Also on a side note, I have a small problem with CCC. When I installed catalyst and drivers I configured my screen resolution and multi-display desktop, but every time I reboot my resolution for both screens is set to 1280x1024 and they are cloned. Why don't my settings save?
I purchased a new Sata Card today so I can install multiple harddrives on my system, but It appears as though I am missing the drivers for the card, because it is simply not recognizing it. how to obtain drivers for these cards and install them?
Edit - Just in case you were wondering, the Sata Card is Generic, and I have no idea who the manufacturer is. It literally says 'Sata Card' on the box and has no company information, but I did buy it at a reputable business, so I have no doubt that it should work fine. It is most likely this card: Newegg.com - SYBA SD-SATA-4P PCI SATA Controller Card
newbie with installing my second network card? I tried loading the module 8139too but it seems that both cards are using it so I am not sure if it worked. Here is the info (Debian Lenny) I get at this point:

I'm about to install a 'new' ATI Radeon video card into a Ubuntu 10.04 computer of mine (an ASUS A7VT) that has VIA onboard graphics. My question is, how will Ubuntu deal with this? Will it automatically download the required drivers or would I be better off with a fresh install after I've put the card in?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI believe my old pIII Dell's network card running Ubuntu server 8.04 is busted. I need to replace it.
how to go about this. Do I just install the card and does it auto-install drivers or is there something else to do?
I have an eeepc 701 4gb running Ubuntu eeepc, however I have two major problems:
1) I have run out of disk space even for upgrading the operating system and essential software such as flash. There is nothing on my eeepc that I dont deem essential and no files just programs.
2) I get an error message saying my disk is being used outside of designed paramaters and may be faulty (ironically it also says my battery is faulty but it is working fine)
As such I want to buy a 16gb or 32gb SDHC card and use that as my main harddrive (cheaper than buying a new one and they are on offer atm). I know how to do this on XP but I would much rather keep Ubuntu.
I recently installed the latest version of Ubuntu because I want to switch to Linux. The installation went well and now I want to connect to the Internet. However, it is necessary that I install the drivers for my wireless card, but I do not know how.I started reading the documentation, but I soon was dropped, I began. My wireless card: Texas Instruments - ACX 111.I said that I use a WEP key, I understood that was important in the documentation.I also want to say I have no wired network near my computer so I am forced to log into Wifi connection.
View 9 Replies View RelatedRecently I've been having problems with the internet whilst using Ubuntu 10.10 (Dual booting with Windows Vista Home Premium x32). The problem is I simply can't use my internet (can't connect and the option doesn't show up). At first it said (using wireless internet by the way), firmware missing. After playing around for a bit, I managed to get a option to install my internet card driver (Broadcom).
As I try to install it says this:
Code:
SystemError: Failed to lock /var/cache/apt/archives/lock This is really frustrating me as I need the internet on it.
