OpenSUSE :: Compiz One Click Install Requirements Not Fulfilled
Apr 9, 2010
When installing COMPIZ on KDE 4.3.5 and Opensuse 11.2 64 bit, I get the following error message: "compiz-kde4-0.8.4-167.x86_64 requires compiz = 0.84, but this requirement cannot be fulfilled. Is there any way to resolve this issue, and is the problem missing repos?
Basically what has happened is that I have installed the nvidia drivers for a 9800 GT from the One-click install for the newer video cards. It seems to have succeeded although I am having difficult activating 3D effects. What happens is that whenever I activate Compiz settings, it works for about 2 seconds (wobbly windows is my test) and then quickly goes back to standard. Is this something I have done wrong or is my hardware incompatible? It works in other distributions I have tried so I'm assuming it is a fault on my part.
What are the hardware requirements of openSUSE 64 bit? Is it the same as 32 bit? In particular, I'm concerned with how much HD space I need to install the OS. The ISO for openSUSE x64 was 4.2 GB. Crazy!
I'm facing a bug where any time I click anywhere inside a window, it performs the function of ALT-clicking the window -- just dragging it around the screen. The only way I can do a standard click on the window is if I hold down the ALT key.
I think this is a compiz issue, since it is fixed by killing compiz. I've had this issue before, but I can't remember how I solved it.
When I Click in Opacity in Compiz the top bar of The desktop desapear. I Clic again and don't apear again. I have to close session and open again session to fix it.
I'm triyng to fix a Opaticty problem in all my top border windows. They all appear transparent. The alt +scroll of mouse doesn't work.
This problem I take it from 10.10... Now I have it in 11.04...I thought it was going to be fix it with the upgrade. In 10.10 I used Metacity because of this problem.
Sometimes I accidentally winkey + middleclick with compiz, which makes the desktop zoom into a small box. So far, every time it happens, I usually just log out, then log back in and it fixed it. Is there a more proper way to return the desktop back to it's normal unmagnified state?
When working in GIMP using a Wacom pen (which I do a lot), not all the lines I draw show up. Maybe every 1 in 5 lines, just don't show up, and it's like the brush outline freezes. This becomes pretty annoying when drawing, which is why I log in standard GNOME without effects when using GIMP.
There is a minor problem that I think may be related, and that is that sometimes when I open a windows in GIMP, such as the Save or Open dialog, I won't be able to click anything in it with my pen. I then need to click the canvas in the background, and after that everything works. It seems as though the brush is stuck on the canvas, which is similar to what happens when drawing. I've tried different compiz settings with vSync and others, but nothing that made this work. This also seems to only be a problem when using a Wacom pen, and not when using the mouse.
How can I install Mplayer for openSUSE 11.3 x86_64 The 1 click install from packman is not working and the download install is asking for libopencore-amrnb.so.0 but llibopencore-amrnb0(x86-64) = 0.1.2-1.pm.3.1 is installed
Iv tried everything to install the codecs for my system, the one click install, the manual provided for by openSUSE but no luck. All the files were installed correctly but alas no file will play. I need a solid answer. I have 11.2 GNOME on a 32 bit processor
I was just wondering about something. I have linked the middle click to initiate the cube rotation and it works perfectly except when I have the cursor on firefox. Then it just acts like I middleclicked in firefox itself. Personally I like this behaviour but was wondering why it is JUST firefox that has it. Would be great if I could achieve the same in Blender
I am trying to build more packages these days than in years before, it seems, but somehow I manage to run into trouble quite often. This time I want to install Truecrypt 6.3a on my system. According to the description there are two dependencies, one of them being wxGTK.Ok, downloaded wxGTK and tried to build it both with sbopkg and on the CLI just by executing the SBo script. But:
Code: checking for Xinerama... yes checking for Xxf86vm extension... yes
I'm using OpenSuse 11.3 Gnome I'm having trouble installing new packages from the One Click Installs of Software Open Suse and from Packman. I get the following error each time. The install link or file you opened does not contain instructions for this version of openSUSE.
Having done a new install of Open Suse 11.3 I'm trying to get back to using Mplayer and Cairo-dock, just to mention two packages. Is the version 11.3 still too new, or is there a fault in the auto installs of 11.3? I have managed to download the rpm of Cairo-dock but the Cairo-dock-plugins have dependency problems which I presume should be resolved using the One Click Install - when it works.
Datacrow installed from one click install for openSuse 11.2Problem: can't open image file.message: 02:37:52 - An error occured while reading the image02:37:52 - javax.imageio.IIOException: Invalid argument to native writeImage
How do create I customized 1-click-install, with browsers, players,broadcom,kernel-vanilha, specific kernel version, gtk-aurora, virtualbox...? I actually install via terminal, but a 1-click-install will be more smoothly.
just recently installed 11.2. WOrking good. Would like to upgrade to KDE 4.3.5. However, when I do, I get all these messages. Im using the one click installer.kdebase4-nsplugin-4.3.1-5.6.3.x86_64 requires kdebase4 = 4.3.1, but this requirement cannot be provided
[ ] do not install kdebase4-4.3.5-3.3.x86_64 [ ] break kdebase4-nsplugin by ignoring some of its dependencies [ ] Following actions will be done:
There doesn't seem to be a one-click install on KDEs page for 4.4.4 only 4.4.3. Does anyone know if there is going to be one for 11.2 or is Suse targeting 11.3 ?
The 1-click install repository links for the "Easy Way" and "Repository Way" will be populated after the mid-July-2010 release of openSUSE-11.3." Well 11.3 is of course out now, so anyone know where the links are? I know I could do it the 'Hard Way' and I've done it that way many times in the past. But these days I'm older and lazier and prefer the 'Easy Way'.
Why does it take almost 700 MB of automatic changes when trying to one-click install qinternet (223 KB?) I Got to the forum to ask this question by using rcsmpppd and then wvdial. Those programs are ok but they provide no progress bar/speed meter.
Also does anyone know why qinternet was dropped from the 11.4 - KDE distro? What a pain for us poor old 56K modem bound souls here in the sticks of Texas! Hope you meet some of you at the Texas LinuxFest, April 2,2011 at the Hilton-downtown!
I heard a lot about NVIDIA Xinerama & Compiz not working but on looking further, in recent times people have got them to work. I've setup Xinerama with 4 monitors working across 2 dual video cards and it works great. I have the latest NVIDIA drivers (using the one-click) and I just installed the latest compiz using one-click as well.
The cards are as follows: Chip: 0 is -> NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 01:00:0 0x10de 0x0402 AGP nvidia Chip: 1 is -> NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 02:00:0 0x10de 0x0402 AGP nvidia (I chose these because they have no fans and when working from home, quiet is nice to have!)
The following options are recommended to run compiz with NVIDIA and I have enabled them all at one point. However, looking through carefully I don't need to since using the latest drivers and having pretty good video cards all this seems to be (according to the documentation) automatically enabled.
I have installed Gnome to KDE and above mentioned problem discovered. Kontact was over the whole screen and rotation of display was to the left and right not above and down. After uninstalling compiz the mentioned problems are away.
I'm a new Linux user (Ubuntu), and i need a simplified explanation of how to install and configure OpenCA in order to test it and anderstand how it works.
I installed nVidia by 1 click off suse site and on reboot my display is gone. I booted with failsafe Kernel. How do I get my display back with nVidia driver instead of default one.
I'm trying to do a 1-click install of hugin (hugin-2010.0.0-13.8.i586.rpm) from software.opensuse.org: Search Results and during installation the repo can't be added due to a missing primary.xml file in this repo: Index of /repositories/graphics/openSUSE_Factory
all the other possibilities on this page to do an installation result with same error. Can someone have a look please? Or what can I do to add this repo? There are some dependencies that could be fixed having this repo.
After a forced reinstall, I find myself missing the desktop folder which I can live without. However, I reallty need right mouse button functions. How can I restore them?
I'm needing to stand up a Lamp server for a SugarCRM migration. I've been told I need to ensure php 5.2 on the box along with ensuring several mod's are installed as well for php and apache. I was planning on using the lamp provided from xampp (apache friends) but they're current build is using PHP 5.3, any suggestions on how to get around it? If I have to build the whole thing from several packages (apache, php, mysql) then no problem, but I really like the myphpadmin page that comes with the xampp installer.
I am testing release 10.10 of Ubuntu desktop from a USB boot drive. It looks great so far, and I am thinking of installing it on the machine. However, I would like to know the disk space requirements. I know I could look them up, Also, while working with the interface I accessed all of the machines devices from the Linux OS and saw that I could partition an existing partition. However, that houses the Windows XP SP3 installation and I was wondering if altering partition size would wipe its contents.
I would be awsome if I could dynamically alter the partition to the size required by Ubuntu plus some slack for applications and the like so I could have both OSs on the same machine without having to reformat the drive for dual boot and re-install both OSs.
