this gives me the output without mod_so with httpd -l command.

Fedora Installation :: F10 On SAS - Add Static IP Fails

Feb 16, 2009

I'm getting ready to install F10 x64 on a Supermicro 7045A-3B on an SAS; I would like to partition the drives free space; I have an OS (Windows 2003 Server R2 x64; sorry still have a few apps that need it; can't wait for the day I can see the end of MS on my computers) on it and I don't want to hose it.

Motherboard: X7DA3
16 GB RAM
Adaptec AIC-9410 SAS Controller (Dual 136 GB Seagate SAS drives in RAID 0)

I also have 1 SATA Drive bay; maybe I could install Windoze on it; but I still need to know how to install F10 on an SAS. So far my stumbling block has been when I click on advanced storage device; when it ask for Network configuration I add my Static IP; it fails; I note that it does this on all installs of F10 on other computers as well; but installed with no problem; problem here seems to get past that after hitting cancel; going back I get to Add iSCSI; I have no idea what information to put in blocks: Target IP Address, iSCSI Initiator Name, CHAP User name, password and reverse info for them. I do admit how that I don't think I need to add an iSCSI device; I just don't see the SAS as an option and don't know how to add it.

Ubuntu Installation :: After 10.04 To 10.10 Upgrade - Sound Is Full Of Static

Oct 10, 2010

After upgrade, I noticed that audio is full of static. It sounds as if one of the sliders has been pushed too far and it's blowing out the sound. I've tried it across several applications(rhythmbox, browser), and all audio is like this.

I've looked at the audio settings on the dock panel, but nothing seems amiss(and in fact doesn't leave much room for manipulation).

Is there another audio management system I should be using to try to resolve this or might there be something wrong with the upgrade process?

General :: Set Static IP

I am a student trying to set a static IP for 4 computers in a university laboratory. These computers have been assigned host names (i.e. owl.ceas.wmich.edu) and I need to change the IPs to the static IPs assigned to each of the host names. I'm having some trouble getting this accomplished, as I have zero experience with this sort of thing. I am using both CentOS 5.5 and Ubuntu 10.04.The Ubuntu computer has the static IP address: 141.218.142.150

The next step is to go to /etc/resolv.conf.I am supposed to change my name server, but I don't know what to change it to.I'm rather lost in this. Any help would be much appreciated.

General :: Adding A Route To A Static Host

Feb 12, 2010

I've trying to add a route to a host to force traffic out of a clustered IP address...

IE I have a cluster and the IP address moves from host to host on failure of a resource. The IP address is just a simple alias of an interface so for example... bond0:0 192.168.1.1 and bond0 192.168.1.10

What I want to do is force a program that starts up on the cluster hosts which sends packets out to a listening server to only send out of the cluster ip address.

I did a route add -host 172.22.2.2 gw 192.168.1.1. But this doesn't seem to work if i try to send a ping the packets still go out the wrong address, and more and above that for some reason the ping doesn't work at all. If i remove the route the ping will work again.

General :: Wrap App With Dynamic Libraries Into One Large Static App?

Feb 24, 2011

I have an old program that kind of depends on older dynamic libraries. They tend to get upgraded easily with distro's updates. I figured that there would be a script with using ldd that would gather the libs needed and create one bigger, statically linked application that wouldn't break so easily. If I could do this, a lot of older KDE libraries could be removed from my system and easen my life.

My distribution of choice is gentoo, but I'm looking for a general solution that doesn't depend on rebuilding anything. If it runs with libs on their path, I'm sure it can be made run with libs somewhere else!

General :: Mount USB Drive - Device Pointers Static?

Jun 6, 2011

I'm using an external USB drive to perform system backups. The script I'm using has a mount command - mount /dev/sdcx /systembak, it works fine until the external drive is mounted into a different USB port which causes the device path to change and the script needs to be modified to reflect that change. Looking in the /dev/disk/ directory I see ./by-id ./by-label ./by-path ./by-uuid. I've been able to mount the disk using one of the device pointers in those directories; are any of those device pointers static or do they change every time the USB disk is plugged into a different USB port.

OS: RHEL/CentOS

General :: Difference Between Static And Dynamically Linked Library?

Aug 30, 2010

Libraries have always been ambiguous to me. I would love to have a clear understanding of them. Here's what I know so far... Ok I know that libraries are a bunch of functions and definitions in C that binaries use. I also understand that static libraries are used by the binaries in /sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/sbin and dynamically linked libraries are used by the binaries in /bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin So why have statically linked and dynamically linked libraries? I know that dynamically linked libraries are used to save space. Otherwise each binary would need its own private copy of a library. So dynamically libraries are used to save space.

1. Where are the static libraries and the dynamically linked libraries located in the file structure?

2. Where does ldconfig fit into all of this?

3. Would a rootkit affect both statically and dynamically linked libraries? I would think yes unless the libraries only have read permissions.

4. If the above is true, is there any reason for your libraries to have write permission other than when you want to edit them?
