I want to run a linux command with apache through web browser and that's is not working. and it's working properly when I execute this command through terminal, where is the problem?
NOTE: apache have the privileges to execute the command
i know it's a very simple command to restart apache via ssh.

View 99 Replies View RelatedApache is complaining about an error with SetEnvIfNoCase when I tried to start it. I've checked that the module /usr/local/apache2/modules/mod_rewrite.so exists. Also the 2nd code block below shows that I'm using the <IfModule rewrite_module></IfModule> tags so if the module isn't available, Apache shouldn't have read that part of the file. The fact that it's reading inside that tag pair means it's able to load the mod_rewrite.so DSO.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI ssh to a remote server which is running in SUSE. And I want to install apache2.0 there. Then I used yast2 to install it. But after installing it, I go to the terminal and type" apache -version" to check if apache is installed there. And it said "-bash: apache: command not found". I don't if I haven't successfully installed it, or I have installed it but just haven't put it into PATH yet. So, my problem is that can anyone tell how to check if I have installed it? If I have installed it, then what is the path of the directory it locates? And if I haven't probably installed it, then can you tell me the how I can installed it? And I am asked to install apache mod_wsgi as well.

I installed Apache 2 and configured it to run on port 18080 through the httpd.conf file. Restarted httpd service. I cannot get to 10.0.0.128:18080 (this is the IP of the machine). The Icecast server webpage is still accessible. No logs are generated by apache in the logs folder. Firewall is off (iptables).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently installed Ubuntu to do some light perl development. I was installing Adobe Air and after I made the bin file executable, I could not run it with the (./). It says that there is no such file or directory. Here is the output from my terminal:

I've deleted the .bin and re-downloaded it, I have renamed it, moved it and even tried executing it by removing the .bin and running it from its location. I am still getting the same errors.
I am trying to use the gedit command to edit my smb.conf file. It was originally working and all of a sudden it has stopped working. I have typed.. 'gedit /etc/samba/smb.conf' but it is a no go. I used the chmod command to set permissions as.. 'chmod 744 smb.conf' However I am still unable to get the file to open. If I do the 'more smb.conf' command I am able to read the contents of the file, however I am unable to edit them.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed AWStats on a new server and can't get perl to properly work as a cgi in apache. I've done this before and got it to work, and I've tried a couple suggestions found from google with no luck. When I try to access [URL] from my browser, Apache doesn't give any errors or anything, it just outputs the perl file in plain text, which implies that it's not handling the .pl file as a perl cgi, but I just don't know why.

I have a LAMP server configured. Yesterday, I had a test.php file displaying everything fine. I transferred some files over to the new server and now I can't connect to the test page, webmin, or phpmyadmin. I think it has something to do with Apache but Im not sure what to do next. I have restarted Apache, MySql and all services are running.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am running a syslogd on my ubuntu 10.10 system. I have a apache2 server on the same machine. I have configured my apache2.conf file to send the error logs to the local syslog server.
The config is as under :-

I have also configured the /etc/syslog.conf as under :-

I have created a file in the /var/log/apache2 dir with the ownerships and permissions as under:-

Next I restarted the sysklogd and apache2 servers with a service command as under:-

Now the problem is I donot get any other messages thereafter. So it is hardly useful. How can I increase the logged messages from apache. I tried the facility:

Then restarted the sysklogd and apache2, but the contents of the /var/log/error_logs file remained similar. Next, I followed the link. I created the perl script for recording access logs of apache2. I then restarted the apache2 and sysklogd. when I opened my website from a browser, the access log did not work. I think I am getting something wrong with the facility value , in apache2.conf it is ErrorLog syslog:local1 ! but the script is suggesting that it should be local2 in the line 4
openlog('apache','cons','pid','local2');
I therefore changed the script to local1 in above line. But still no access log?
I am working on Ubuntu 9.10.Since last two days there is issue while working with Terminal.Whenever I type a command and press enter it doesnt do anything. command is not executed. I guess its in loop. when I press Ctrl+C then it comes out of loop. this happens with all commands and I am not sure what is the problem.I have reinstalled Terminal but it did not worked.

Since I cannot take my server down for a few days, maybe a week until I manage to migrate all the sites to the new machine, I figured I could migrate them one by one. After migrating one, I would somehow tunnel the requests of that name virtual host to my internal machine. When everything is migrated, I would then switch the machines, update ip's and stuff and everything will work just fine.
However I cannot seem to find a way to do this tunneling. is this at all possible? If not, what alternatives do I have?
