How to Install Instead of SeaMonkey ?
I'm operating on a new Linux computer and I'm not too savy when it comes to computer terminology. Please bare with me. I am trying to change my browser from Mozilla firefox to seamonkey. Im pretty sure I downloaded it but cant find it anywhere on the computer. My reason for changing to seamonkey is I play a game called yoville and I cant get in on this computer it just stops at 75% activating player. I have adobe 10 and thinking maybe I need to switch to adobe 9 but dont know how to do this either.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe thing is that flash sucks for linux on 64-bit, performance vice. Due to this I actually download every clip to a temp folder and play the file while it's being downloaded with mplayer. This works really nice. Flash is not to play a video. Does there exist a plugin for this for any browser? I tried google, but I can't find the right words to search for. Edit: I did find a plugin for playing wmp things, that is not what I'm asking for!
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis problem one day popped out of nowhere in my ubuntu 9.04 firefox browser that I could not submit my reply on any forums. So I changed my browser to epiphany and then to opera but all failed then I installed arora and it worked. I don't know what is the problem with other browsers I just cannot submit a reply on any forums.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm currently trying to rebuild the Seamonkey package so as to have only the browser, and not all the remaining cruft like Mail, News, Composer and Dishwasher. I remember having done this for a few years - Netscape also allowed to do that - and it went well. Basically, all you had to do was to replace the --enable-application=suite option by something like --enable-application=browser, and then disable the other apps explicitly with some option like --disable-calendar, --disable-mailnews, --disable-composer, if I remember correctly.
I've tried to rebuild the Seamonkey source with a modified SlackBuild, but to no avail. ./configure --help shows me some options in that direction, but I have yet to find out some magic combination to get it to work. --enable-application=APP doesn't seem to know the browser-only option anymore, and defining various --disable-mailnews and --disable-calendar options results in compilation errors.
I absoultely cannot figure this out... No matter which browser (FireFox, FireFox4, Seamonkey, etc) I try to use, I always get this error message:
Replace "seamonkey" with whichever browser stated previously.
I've always used the repos at [URL] to get Opera both on Lenny and Squeeze.
So my sources.list has this line:
deb [URL] lenny non-free
But now I see these has not been updated since november 2009. Is there a newer repo somewhere? I know you can download opera from the opera website - but that is too much work when you have many computers to manage.
I want to know how to set Opera as the default web browser.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have another opera browser problem,i upgraded to version 10.53 build 6330 last week. it keeps crashing the cpu goes to 100% and wont come down, i had this problem with the previous version but its a lot worse with the new version.
also noticed that when browsing ebay the scroll is very jerky until you get about a third of the way down the page then it scrolls ok again.
i get the feeling the crashes are something to do with the flash player.
i tried to uninstall flash but i cannot get it to uninstall .
I am going to try Opera for 64-bit first since it is currently my favorite browser. Will this be the beginning of the end of all those flash related questions and problems?
View 1 Replies View RelatedToday I added more fonts to ~/.fonts directory. I launched Opera and the fonts are gone funny [image attached]. I don't have this problem in Firefox of Google Chrome/Chromium. I changed fonts in Opera >> Preferences but to no avail. Also I deleted .opera directory. No joy. The only solution I've found is to delete .fonts directory (but I want those fonts for other applications).

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've added "non-free" to my sources.list, but apt keeps telling me that it can't find SeaMonkey.
Why is it so?
There is a "standalone seamonkey-solibs package for RPM, gxine, etc". But after recent upgrades in -current, I can't use rpm without full seamonkey package installed. Can someone revise the contents of seamonkey-solibs and add missing files to it?
$ LANG=C rpm -qp --qf %{NAME} opera-11.00-1156.i386.rpm
error: opera-11.00-1156.i386.rpm: Header SHA1 digest: BAD
error: opera-11.00-1156.i386.rpm: not an rpm package (or package manifest)
And `rpm2txz -nd opera-11.00-1156.i386.rpm` doesn't work as expected without seamonkey package installed.
in ubuntu software center, opera is not there, why?
View 7 Replies View RelatedAre there any .DEB downloads of Seamonkey out there? All I can find (at the site) are the source and the installer (as a gzip). I couldn't get it to install using the installer (even with the instructions in the readme), and I'd like to avoid compiling from source, because this is for a college course and I don't feel like I have time to worry about compiling.
(The course calls for an HTML editor, and Seamonkey is one of the suggested programs with an HTML editor.) Since I couldn't get the Linux version of Seamonkey to install from its installer (I think the error message was something about being unable to open a screen), the only solution I knew was to run Windows XP in Virtualbox and download/install/run the Windows version of Seamonkey from there.
