It happens with any type of video be it avi, mp4, mkv or any other I try to play with exception of flash with my browser. Otherwise everything is perfectly normal.
Do take a note that when I take a screen shot with the program (Totem, VLC or any other video player I play the video) the picture is perfectly normal like so:[url]
I have on my PC:
Ubuntu 10.04
ATI Radeon 9800 XT
AMD Sempron +3000
1 GB DDR2
I want to play a Quicktime stream and can't figure it out. When I try to play it either in Firefox or Movie Player, it says I need a text/html decoder plugin, but doesn't find one from the autosearch. Downloaded Ubuntu Restricted Extras from the Software Center, but no luck (don't know if I'm supposed to "do" something after that). MPlayer doesn't work on my computer, and I've also downloaded Avidemux, thinking maybe I'd get the right codec or plugin, but again, no luck. I am on Ubuntu 10.04 on an Eee PC, if it makes a diff.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have another opera browser problem,i upgraded to version 10.53 build 6330 last week. it keeps crashing the cpu goes to 100% and wont come down, i had this problem with the previous version but its a lot worse with the new version.
also noticed that when browsing ebay the scroll is very jerky until you get about a third of the way down the page then it scrolls ok again.
i get the feeling the crashes are something to do with the flash player.
i tried to uninstall flash but i cannot get it to uninstall .
Today I added more fonts to ~/.fonts directory. I launched Opera and the fonts are gone funny [image attached]. I don't have this problem in Firefox of Google Chrome/Chromium. I changed fonts in Opera >> Preferences but to no avail. Also I deleted .opera directory. No joy. The only solution I've found is to delete .fonts directory (but I want those fonts for other applications).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've always used the repos at [URL] to get Opera both on Lenny and Squeeze.
So my sources.list has this line:
deb [URL] lenny non-free
But now I see these has not been updated since november 2009. Is there a newer repo somewhere? I know you can download opera from the opera website - but that is too much work when you have many computers to manage.
How can I install opera web browser? I don't have a working web browser in my files.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I've downloaded it it says:
The name org.freedesktop.PackageKit was not provided by any .service files
I'm on suse 11.2 gnome, 64bit.
The thing is that flash sucks for linux on 64-bit, performance vice. Due to this I actually download every clip to a temp folder and play the file while it's being downloaded with mplayer. This works really nice. Flash is not to play a video. Does there exist a plugin for this for any browser? I tried google, but I can't find the right words to search for. Edit: I did find a plugin for playing wmp things, that is not what I'm asking for!

View 8 Replies View RelatedI created a quicktime .mov movie file in iMovie on a Mac (that is not available anymore) and I want to 1) play & 2) edit the movie. I'd be happy to use a different format if I can figure out how to change it. Has anyone else done this?
Edit: If you skip down to post #16 you'll see I discovered it actually isn't a matter of editing a .mov file, but it turns out I don't have a properly exported quicktime .mov file. Instead I have (I'm not sure but I think its iMovie ver. 4.) 1) an .iMovieProj text file that lists the cuts by frame in and frame out, 2) an .mov file that isn't the complete file I thought it was and 3) a folder of all the clips that are in Apple's Quicktime DV format. In this thread people taught me about transcoding from the Apple's Quicktime DV format to liberated formats easier to work with. Given this knowledge and since I have a list of the cuts I'm asking if people could recommend a Linux video editor that would be easy to enter the tedious frame in, frame out info so I could reassemble the video.
