But now I see these has not been updated since november 2009. Is there a newer repo somewhere? I know you can download opera from the opera website - but that is too much work when you have many computers to manage.

May 31, 2010I have another opera browser problem,i upgraded to version 10.53 build 6330 last week. it keeps crashing the cpu goes to 100% and wont come down, i had this problem with the previous version but its a lot worse with the new version.
also noticed that when browsing ebay the scroll is very jerky until you get about a third of the way down the page then it scrolls ok again.
i get the feeling the crashes are something to do with the flash player.
i tried to uninstall flash but i cannot get it to uninstall .

Aug 10, 2011Today I added more fonts to ~/.fonts directory. I launched Opera and the fonts are gone funny [image attached]. I don't have this problem in Firefox of Google Chrome/Chromium. I changed fonts in Opera >> Preferences but to no avail. Also I deleted .opera directory. No joy. The only solution I've found is to delete .fonts directory (but I want those fonts for other applications).

Apr 18, 2010The thing is that flash sucks for linux on 64-bit, performance vice. Due to this I actually download every clip to a temp folder and play the file while it's being downloaded with mplayer. This works really nice. Flash is not to play a video. Does there exist a plugin for this for any browser? I tried google, but I can't find the right words to search for. Edit: I did find a plugin for playing wmp things, that is not what I'm asking for!

May 7, 2010i have ubuntu 10 lts and have searched the forums and internet yet not resolved this issue so hope i`ve posted in the right place. i have installed, via the ubuntu software manager, the latest adobe flash as every browser i try crashes within at most ten minutes of trying to play a flash video full screen, usually within four minutes. i cannot play anything on bbc iplayer or videos fullscreen and i have no idea why. i have the latest flash plugin and have tried chromium, midori, firefox, opera, conkerer (not konqueror) and epiphany and every one crashes. tried firefox in safe mode and it still happens, opera just stops playing the video but all the other browsers crash except chromium which tells me the flash plugin stopped working. i really need it working and don`t want to have to return to windows just for flash so has any one an idea where i can start in solving it?

Nov 20, 2015Iceweasel, Konqueror, makes no difference. Embedded flash videos make them crash every time. I had to install Flash Control on Iceweasel just to make it usable.

May 30, 2011I'm trying to get the "root" user to be included in the list of users that get displayed on the login page.
I found this:[URL]...which seems to indicate that if I add an "Include" line, with the "root" user, that would work. I found the /etc/gdm/custom.conf file, which was empty except for the section header lines, so I added an "Include=root" line, but even after rebooting I just get the regular users, and have to login by typing the "root" username, etc.
So, I was wondering, is there a way to get this to work? P.S. I understand about not wanting to allow root logins, but I need to do this in my situation.
