General :: Facebook Not Working Well In Mozilla Seamonkey / Sort It?
Apr 15, 2010
I am using Scientific Linux version 2.6.9-67.EL.cernsmp (root@lxcert-i386) (gcc version 3.4.6 20060404 (Red Hat 3.4.6-9)) #1 SMP Wed Nov 21 16:22:33 CET 2007. Here in mozilla seamonkey browser face book is not working well. I can not write any thing on the wall. But in firefox its working fine but the the browser is a bit slow. What should be the problem in seamonkey ? can anybody tell me ?
I'm operating on a new Linux computer and I'm not too savy when it comes to computer terminology. Please bare with me. I am trying to change my browser from Mozilla firefox to seamonkey. Im pretty sure I downloaded it but cant find it anywhere on the computer. My reason for changing to seamonkey is I play a game called yoville and I cant get in on this computer it just stops at 75% activating player. I have adobe 10 and thinking maybe I need to switch to adobe 9 but dont know how to do this either.
Today I did the Seamonkey 2.1 update. I found out that some of the add-ons or extensions did not work. They were disabled, due to incompatible versions. I found out a simple solution. I hope this helps some. This helped me with the Webdeveloper, fxif and Novell Moonlight extensions. In the file install.rdf is an element called MaxVersion. Change this to 2.1.* and the extensions work again.
The file install.rdf is to be found in ~/.mozilla/seamonkey/user-thingies.default/extensions/{extensioncode}
openSuSE gurus, after several weeks I've finally managed to get aMule to listen external calls from Mozilla browsers. To make it quick: In Seamonkey or FF do about:config and add
I am using CentOS 5.4. I updated my firefox to 3.6.7. After that when I login in facebook and click anything in facebook, my pc log out, even from root user. cause & solution of this problem.
I am having problems getting Seamonkey 2 and 2.0.0.1 to run on Slackware 12.2. I have tried the packages for 12.2 in patches/packages/ and the package from the seamonkey website, both with identical results. Seamonkey appears to start, and does appear in the process list, however no windows appear and it uses little memory and no CPU cycles. No messages appear in the console if I start it from there. I have to kill the processes (seamonkey , run-mozilla and seamonkey-bin). I have tried removing my Seamonkey profile, with the same results.
If I try to build the slackbuild I get this error: Code: checking for cairo >= 1.8.8 freetype2 fontconfig... Requested 'cairo >= 1.8.8' but version of cairo is 1.6.4 configure: error: Library requirements (cairo >= 1.8.8 freetype2 fontconfig) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them. configure: error: ./configure failed for mozilla /usr/bin/gmake -C mozilla default gmake[1]: Entering directory `/tmp/comm-1.9.1/mozilla' gmake[1]: *** No rule to make target `default'. Stop. gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/comm-1.9.1/mozilla' make: *** [default] Error 2
The version of Cairo I am running is the standard Slackware 12.2 version cairo-1.6.4-i486-1.tgz, which to my knowledge, has never been updated (there is nothing in /patches/packages for it, anyway).
We are using Maverick Ubuntu Netbook Remix on a eeePC and trying to use the advanced uploader on facebook to upload photos. The simple uploader works fine. When we try to use the advanced uploader, nautilus loads fine but when you select pictures and choose open, nothing happens. I read on a few websites that the facebook advanced uploaded uses ActiveX and Java. I tried installing Open JDK and Iced Tea along with Firefox and that did not help. The real kicker is this works fine on my regular computer running Lucid Linx. I may have something installed on that thing that makes it work but I have no idea what..
I just installed helena on my compaq presario cq61-223sa but i can't get the altec Lansing speakers to work and my internal mic as well. I'm fairly new at linux and have tried looking for drivers but i couldn't find any.
Is it safe to put my old .mozilla and .mozilla-thunderbird folders from xandros 4.2 into OSS 11.3? I have apps, emails, and settings that I would like to keep. This might seem like an over precautious question, but I've broken Xandros more than once. I would hate to do it to OSS.
I have been doing periodic net-based dist upgrade since 7.10. Currently I use 9.10. Now that 10.04 is out, I want to upgrade to the latest LTS version by doing a clean install, instead of using net-based dist-upgrade.
Since I use Firefox, and Thunderbird, I want to keep the passwords/bookmarks I have stored in firefox, and mail/account settings (for multiple email accounts) that are in Thunderbird.
While I know I can copy the hidden profile directories for each, and back them up for recovery after the upgrade by copying them into the new 10.04 after install is complete, I don't know if this is recommended, prudent, or if pitfalls await me. Since I want to do a clean install, and, since 10.04 uses different versions of both Thunderbird and Firefox,
1. Would it be prudent to back up/use the existing profiles I have in 9.10, or should I bite the bullet and just start fresh with new profile setups when I finish installing 10.04? 2. Are there any pitfalls I need to be aware of if I will be restoring a profile of each from 9.10?
3. Or, should I continue to do net-based dist-upgrades to 10.04 so appropriate profile changes can be made by the new versions of Thunderbird/Firefox software?
I don't know what I have done, but usually, when you want to download something from the internet, you click on the download icon and mozilla opens a small windows with 2 options. Open of Save file. Well, it's not working here anymore, I will attach what I get when I try downloading something. Is there anyway I can get all default settings from mozilla back? (I will attach my download settings too)
camorama application giving error "could not connect to video device (dev/video0) check connections".I am using Ubuntu 10.1 and intel webcam CS110. Also the webcam is not working on facebook/meebo live chat applications.
I have Fedora 13 installed on my laptop, which has got Mozilla Firefox 3.6.3 preinstalled I cannot play any videos on my brwoser, available in ......com. I tried installing the Flash Player. And pasted the "libflashplayer.so" file inside /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins directory. But still I am not able to play any video. Still gets the same message that, "You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video. ".
Are there any .DEB downloads of Seamonkey out there? All I can find (at the site) are the source and the installer (as a gzip). I couldn't get it to install using the installer (even with the instructions in the readme), and I'd like to avoid compiling from source, because this is for a college course and I don't feel like I have time to worry about compiling.
(The course calls for an HTML editor, and Seamonkey is one of the suggested programs with an HTML editor.) Since I couldn't get the Linux version of Seamonkey to install from its installer (I think the error message was something about being unable to open a screen), the only solution I knew was to run Windows XP in Virtualbox and download/install/run the Windows version of Seamonkey from there.
Trying to put some java stuff on my website, well intranet first to test them. What do I need got java 6 jdk and java 6 plugin. Java script is turned on. No joy on ubuntu jaunty.

Okay, I'm new to Kubuntu - but not Ubuntu. I installed Kubuntu about 2 hours ago, and I'm stuck... When I run the Firefox installer, it says the package is already installed, but where? I'm using Konqueror right now, but I want to use Firefox.
All of those items listed above are potential points of failure in this situation, and any help narrowing them down would be fantastic. I am simply trying to enable webcame support directly through Facebooks website.
Forum searches and the usual googling turn up few posts related to this specific equation. Two of the major suggestions include:
1) Installing the Sun (I refuse to say oracle sob)-provided Java implementation instead of the OpenJDK normally installed in Ubuntu. And yes, after installing it, I did update all my default supports to use the sun commands over the openjdk.
2) Somehow enabling Facebook as a permitted site to access my webcam using Flash settings.
I have not been able to explore option 2 because I cannot find a way to adjust the Flash settings in chromium 7.
Every time when I visit facebook site my system crashes, everything that I have opened just closes and my machine returns to a login screen. This only happens when visiting facebook, and I can't relate this to administrative restrictions because I can visit facebook from other computers within the same network. I am using Scientific Linux 5.4. Where might be the problem?
Having some memory loss i think (in my head not my pc). I have set up apache before , then changed to dsl in the last week and cant seem to get this new modem/router to work. i can get the loopback address to work, as well as the network ip. can NOT get my other machines to hit the server on the network . also no connection from outside the network from port 80. my modem is a motorola (att) ,apache2 on my toshiba laptop, amd x2, 3gigs ram.
I'm running 9.10 and I've being using skype for months with no issues, but today my microphone isn't working. I've tested the physical microphone on another machine and it works fine. I've tried skype, sound recorder and neither gets any input. I also have webcam and the microphone on that isn't working either.
