General :: Changed My Browser To Epiphany And Then To Opera But All Failed - Could Not Submit My Reply
Jul 24, 2009
This problem one day popped out of nowhere in my ubuntu 9.04 firefox browser that I could not submit my reply on any forums. So I changed my browser to epiphany and then to opera but all failed then I installed arora and it worked. I don't know what is the problem with other browsers I just cannot submit a reply on any forums.
I'm using Linux Mint 8. However, internet browser speed is very slow as compared to using the same computer with Windows. In Linux, I've used Firefox 3.5 and Epiphany 2.28. Epiphany runs somewhat faster than Firefox so I mainly use it for the internet.
What I would like to know is if Epiphany browser 2.30 is noticably faster than 2.28? Should I go thru the trouble of upgrading to Mint 9 inorder to be able to use Epiphany 2.3 - as well as Chromium 8?
Is Epiphany the only browser for Gnome supporting password storage in keyring?Firefox and Chromium both seem to store login credentials in own storage thus limiting interoperability.
The thing is that flash sucks for linux on 64-bit, performance vice. Due to this I actually download every clip to a temp folder and play the file while it's being downloaded with mplayer. This works really nice. Flash is not to play a video. Does there exist a plugin for this for any browser? I tried google, but I can't find the right words to search for. Edit: I did find a plugin for playing wmp things, that is not what I'm asking for!
The Adbock extension completely wipes out Yahoo! homepage. I think that is a little over aggresive ad blocking. Does anybody know what whitelist rule that would ?
Hi all, i used synaptic to uninstall epiphany and it also removed gnome-destop along with it, resulting in me having to reinstall(AGAIN!) Ofcourse my intention was to uninstall epiphany and _not_ gnome, so is there a way to take epiphany off of my system with out affecting gnome?
I just moved to Fedora 11 from Ubuntu and I am very happy, not even thinking to go back to Ubuntu (because of gma500 driver support). How can I clean up Fedora? On Ubuntu I could go to Synaptics, remove Installed (not residetial) packages, I coud use terminal sudo autoremove, autoclean, clean. On Fedora I found out only one so far: yum clean all. Is there anything else I should now, can you share with me how you are cleaning up your Fedora? Second thing, which is not only related to Fedora, is there any chance to make Epiphany remeber tabs after I close the browser and open it again? Don't really want to use any other browser.
i changed my kde color scheme and it changed firefox's and opera's color scheme. sometimes it can be difficult to read links or articles on web pages. i don't want to change their default color schemes. how can i do that ?
I've always used the repos at [URL] to get Opera both on Lenny and Squeeze. So my sources.list has this line: deb [URL] lenny non-free
But now I see these has not been updated since november 2009. Is there a newer repo somewhere? I know you can download opera from the opera website - but that is too much work when you have many computers to manage.
I have another opera browser problem,i upgraded to version 10.53 build 6330 last week. it keeps crashing the cpu goes to 100% and wont come down, i had this problem with the previous version but its a lot worse with the new version. also noticed that when browsing ebay the scroll is very jerky until you get about a third of the way down the page then it scrolls ok again. i get the feeling the crashes are something to do with the flash player. i tried to uninstall flash but i cannot get it to uninstall .
I am going to try Opera for 64-bit first since it is currently my favorite browser. Will this be the beginning of the end of all those flash related questions and problems?
Today I added more fonts to ~/.fonts directory. I launched Opera and the fonts are gone funny [image attached]. I don't have this problem in Firefox of Google Chrome/Chromium. I changed fonts in Opera >> Preferences but to no avail. Also I deleted .opera directory. No joy. The only solution I've found is to delete .fonts directory (but I want those fonts for other applications).
The version is 11.01 & the build is 1190. I've filled some fields at the Forms tab > Preferences > Settings > Menu. Attached to this post is an image of those fields. I can't press Ctrl+Enter to activate the wand, I don't know if there's another method. Forms tab > Preferences > Settings > Menu
i'm trying to install adobe flash player so i can view ..... videos in opera browser. without going into detail i have tried every possible way from all various instructions, even in the initial install it is suppose to install the flash player plugin from the software centre
When I tried to log in this morning I couldn't until I enabled Java scripts in my Opera browser. This must be something "new and improved". Could someone confirm this? I would prefer "old and lousy" rather than open up my computer to the world at large.
1. My Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala always going slow when i Open OPERA Browser. Is it Normal? 2. Sometimes i got my Karmic Animation like a... i dont know, just play it slower than usual. Is it Normal?
I was using Compiz Animation. [minimize, maximize, close, etc] Is that thing make my Karmic running slow?
After installing Linux Multimedia Studio the fonts on my firefox4 browser has slightly changed. I remember during the installation that it installed some fonts so maybe it has something to do with that.
The default font settings on my firefox has remained the same but it looks different than before. On certain websites like facebook the main font looks different. I uninstalled LMMS thinking it would bring back the default font settings but it hasnt.
Any ideas how I can bring it back to my default settings on firefox?
I was just curious to know where you submit a new or modified distro after making one. Not that I did--I'm not a programmer. But is there a particular place you submit a distro to, or do you just find some website to host it?
I am new in linux,I installed apache-tomcat on fedora.I can view all web pages on localhost:8080 but when I try to view them by server's url address from another computer, I don't get respond. Can it be a firewall problem or something else?
my command is the following:cp -LRuvp --reply=yes /mnt/filename /mnt/usbdrive/filename 2>/mnt/usbdrive/ error.log.i get "the reply option is deprecated try using i or f instead" the problem with the above is the only thing i get in my error log is: "the reply option is deprecated try using i or f instead" and if i use "i , f , /cp , etc..." nothing is generated in my log..what i want to do is copy file from source with "LRuvp" to destination and appened out put to "error.log"
