View 6 RepliesI would like to know if anyone has run more than one version of mono concurrently. I want to host a Battlefield 2 server with bf2ccd that requires mono 1.1.12. CentOS 5.3 repos provide mono 1.2.4 which is neither new enough nor old enough to support bf2ccd. I have considered compiling a newer version or an older version to accommodate this but I think that the only fully supported version is the 1.1.12 and I want to have the newer mono for other projects. I have used Slackware exclusively up to now and am not familiar with CentOS yet so I would like to avoid compiling if I can. The server is an unmanaged dedicated server so I'm not certain of all of the details. AFAIK it is a standard CentOS 5.3 install.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo, I have compiled a C# program on Linux using MonoDevelop. When I try to execute the resulting binary, my system tries and fails to run it as a windows executable, with wine. Wine gives me the following message:
$ ~/bin/MyMonoApp
wine: Install the Windows version of Mono to run .NET executables
~/bin/MyMonoApp: command not found
I can only convince it to run by explicitly calling mono:
$ mono ~/bin/MyMonoApp
So, how can I make this the default, so I don't have to explicitly call mono every time?
After openSUSE11.3->openSUSE11.4 upgrade Keepass2.14 stopped working. Seems to be problem with mono included in 11.4.
Hi. I'm running the 64 bit OpenSuse 11.2 distro with Firefox 3.5.7 and the Novell mono plugin installed but still can't watch the olympics coverage on CTV.
Is there something else I also need to install?
I'm trying to run Emulare ( Android emulator ) under Fedora 13 using mono. It fails with this error:

I think it is the mono setup but don't know what to fix?
I'm not happy about having mono on my system, is there a way to uninstall it? I just installed fedora 11.

View 2 Replies View RelatedStrange problem with Kopete in Fedora 12. It works well with Google talk but does not work with Openfire - based jabber servers. Empathy works well with it so I think it is not SSL/TLS problem. Libs like qca, qca2 etc. are installed...
I like Kopete interface much more then Empaty.
My phpMyAdmin is showing up only a blank screen with its favicon. What kind of error is this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've write a php code to upload files. by move_uploaded_file. I've given 777 to the folder. But file upload unsuccess, error log show no premission. I test the code in Centos it wotks. I change the dest folder in Fedora to /tmp it works, but it only work on /tmp. neither /tmp/abc nor /temp. I guess it's a setting problem on apache or php. I also copy http.conf and php.ini from Centos, but mod_file_cache and mod_mem_cache not find in Fedora.

The situation is this, I have one of those router cable/wifi. So I have the main pc plugged to the router, the router give local ip for all my network (the others computers connects via wi-fi). Main pc starts up apache under Fedora 12, http://localhost.. works, http://127.0.0.1.. works, http://192.168.0.13 (my local ip) works. But when I try to connect to http://192.168.0.13 from another pc of my local network, it doesn't work. The others pcs are running windows vista.
I go another computers ping 192.168.0.13, responds!
From the main computer ping 192.168.0.14, responds!
So, there is communication between the machines, but I cant get to work under apache. I tried opening port 80 with iptables, i tried changing apache's port to another.
I recently installed Fedora 13 on VMware 7 environment without X window. sshd did work fine, but when I tried to put it into xinetd, it doesn't work any more. Here is what I have done so far :
I stopped sshd. #service sshd stop
and I configured xinetd.conf like below.
Quote:
#
# This is the master xinetd configuration file. Settings in the
# default section will be inherited by all service configurations
# unless explicitly overridden in the service configuration. See
# xinetd.conf in the man pages for a more detailed explanation of
# these attributes.
[Code]....
I don't know what I did wrong with them. I configured xinetd.conf, and I made service configuration file 'ssh' in /etc/xinetd.d, and I restarted xinetd.
What am I supposed to do to make a life on my sshd within xinetd ?
I have two mount points that used to work. I have them defined as cifs shares in fstab, and they map to a Windows machine, which I am able to ping from my Fedora machine, but for some reason I get a mount error 2, and the destination is not accessible. The man page doesn't really give any troubleshooting steps. Since I am mounting by IP address (which as I said has worked before), nothing has changed, although the IP address did change, which I updated in the fstab file to the new IP address (and since I have reserved this new IP address so it can't change again!)
I ran a test and shared a folder from another one of my computers, and added a line in fstab to auto-mount that, and I get a "permission denied" error 13, which is different than the error 2 I get on the other 2 shares. What should I be looking for as far as actual connectivity between the machines? I have verified that the windows machine is on and I can access the same shares from another computer.
Update: Added the host and IP address to my hosts file, and replaced the IP address with the name, and still get the same error. Also, the share name has a space in it, so I replace that with a "40" space character (which worked in the past). I tried replacing that with an actual space, and putting quotes around the URL, but then I get a "bad URL" error.

I am fairly new to Fedora or rather use it only for some school exercises I get. I have to setup a Samba server with some basic settings and it doesn't want to work. I first tried it on the Fedora VM I got from school (version 11). It somehow worked, but extremely bad ... the Windows client had to wait for over a minute to get either access or an errormessage, that the server was not found (but when entered the ip in the adressfield on top it worked (with a minute or more to wait)). I tried updating the VM - no improvement. So I decided to download Fedora 12, installed it and the Windows client gains instant access on first glance. But when I try to get access to a specific share, it only tells me, that I am not allowed to access it Oo.
Here is my config:
Code:
I even turned off iptables and Windows firewall.
The funny thing is: I tried exactly the same config on my homeserver (copy and paste), which runs Arch, and it works with no problem. But on Fedora I cant access it from nowhere. Not from WinXP, Win7 or any Linux. Simply won't work.
I dont have any gui on Fedora
A week ago or so neither ssh nor scp were working when attempting to connect to my on-campus computer from home. ssh was complainig about the key not matching and I figured out I could just delete the config file it was reading the (now old) key from and let it create a new one with the updated key upon prompting me whether or not to trust the remote host.
However, even though ssh is now working, I can no longer use scp. I issued scp -v and discovered a bunch of errors. scp prompts me for the remote password and even prints the message of the day on the remote computer but then just hangs and doesn't seem to be copying any files. I'm sure the issue is with the whole key change issue but I can't quite figure out why ssh would be working just fine and scp would be failing.
the codeigniter didn't work in my Fedora, the welcome page, when your codeigniter works,it will shows, but it doesn't appear.the same step,it can work in Windows. What's the problem?

i am trying to wine ratiomaster.exe in fc6 but i get the following message: "install the Windows version of Mono to run .NET executables"
does anyone knows what to do? ps: no, i cant upgrade fedora but i think this should not be a problem.
I'm not to sure this is the place I should post this, but couldn't find any place for it to fit. So here is the deal..I am running 10.10 with the standard LAMP setup. I am running a drupal 7 site no problems. What I need to do is run a multi site sub directory. (domain.com/newsite). So far the best I can do is get a directory index of the second site (domain.com/newsite), but cant run the installer. (I did the symbolic link to the doc root of the drupal install.)If I type in the url domain.com/newsite/install.php I get not found. I placed an index.html test page and it renders fine. I think I'm close but just not there yet.
Any ideas from anyone? I can get Sobdomains to work fine on a test mache, but sadly I need the domain/site to work due to lack of DNS support at the moment. I tried to get some info from the drupal forum, but everything always points to subdomin setups. I also posted over there, but it seems like the forums have very little support and are a bit on the slow side.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the system setup and working, but I want to put it in a corner and forget about it. Problem is, nothing starts running unless I'm logged in. And if I log out, everything stops again. It's running a LAMP server and has VNC and SSH servers as well. I want all of that to start without having to log in. That way I can remote reboot without worries and connect and login with either VNC or SSH.Everything seems to have an entry in /etc/init.dIs the way it's acting normal behavior? It's a fresh install, then I installed everything I needed from the repos.
