Fedora :: Mono - Mysql Very Slow ?

Currently I have a huge issue with Mysql on a basic Fedora 12 installation (no update strait from dvd). Only a console.
Mono JIT compiler version 2.4.3.1 (tarball Thu Jan 14 10:27:43 UTC 2010) Mysql Server version: 5.1.44 Source distribution
When I what to connect with the mysql database using the 6.2.2 Mysql.Data.dll using the socket (/var/lib/mysql/myqsl.sock) I get the error:
If I connect with localhost it is very slow: Query time(0 logitem(s)): 0.805234 seconds
When I connect to that shame version using the same application from a window machine over a network the result are: Query time(0 logitem(s)): 0.23646 seconds

i'm not sure if this is because i'm having problems with my Raid setup, which mysql is running on, or if it is unrelated, but is anyone else noticing that mysql is VERY slow on Fedora 15?

I would like to know if anyone has run more than one version of mono concurrently. I want to host a Battlefield 2 server with bf2ccd that requires mono 1.1.12. CentOS 5.3 repos provide mono 1.2.4 which is neither new enough nor old enough to support bf2ccd. I have considered compiling a newer version or an older version to accommodate this but I think that the only fully supported version is the 1.1.12 and I want to have the newer mono for other projects. I have used Slackware exclusively up to now and am not familiar with CentOS yet so I would like to avoid compiling if I can. The server is an unmanaged dedicated server so I'm not certain of all of the details. AFAIK it is a standard CentOS 5.3 install.

So, I have compiled a C# program on Linux using MonoDevelop. When I try to execute the resulting binary, my system tries and fails to run it as a windows executable, with wine. Wine gives me the following message:
$ ~/bin/MyMonoApp
wine: Install the Windows version of Mono to run .NET executables
~/bin/MyMonoApp: command not found
I can only convince it to run by explicitly calling mono:
$ mono ~/bin/MyMonoApp
So, how can I make this the default, so I don't have to explicitly call mono every time?

I've got Ubuntu Server 10.04 on a fairly beefy box (quad-core xeon 2.67ghz, 2gb ram) Standard mysql-server installed, with many databases.Lately, mysql has been extremely slow and almost non-responsive. Server loads are low.Running mtop reveals many, many processes from the user: debian-sys-maint querying the information_schema table with the exact same query, over and over."Select count(*) from tables where engine = 'innodb'"
This is adversely affecting my database server, and thus my websites which rely on mysql. Every search I've done looking for more information about the debian-sys-maint user shows problems where that users was deleted. The user isn't deleted.

I am on a CentOS 64 bit and used webmin to rotate MySQL slow query log. Now the thing is although logs are being rotated daily but the new log files being created are empty which means MySQL is unable to write them due to some reason. I have checked using "ls -l" that both permission and owner of files is same but still MySQL is not writing logs. What could be the reason?

I'm trying to run Emulare ( Android emulator ) under Fedora 13 using mono. It fails with this error:

I have a mysql server in guest domU on debian squeeze. when i create test table and do INSERT INTO test (name, value) VALUES(RAND(), RAND()); Query OK, 1 row affected (0.28 sec)
At other physical server with same configuration Query OK, 1 row affected (0.00 sec)
I try this several time but on physical server max value never get over 0.05sec and on VM lowest value was 0.13sec.

I have installed OpenSuse 11.3 32 Bit in a virtual machine on an older computer on a Windows XP host and on a new computer with AMD Phenom II X4 965 processor.
With sysbench I tested the performance of mutex and on the new computer it is 3 - 4 times slower than on the virtual machine. Other performance tests with sysbench for CPU, memory and threads are faster on new computer like expected. I tested this, because I have a slower performance of table creation in MySql tested with sql-bench, where creation of 10000 tables lasts 45 seconds on the virtual machine but over 400 seconds on the new computer.
I have tested with kernel-desktop and kernel-default but there are not large differences. File creation was tested with bonnie++ and is on newer computer faster as expected.
My questions are:
- Why is the mutex handling on the multi core CPU slower than in the virtual machine and how to speed up this?
- Or is there another reason why table creation of MySql is so much slower on multi core CPU?

I've been attempting to set up a LAMP for local web development, which meant installing mysql-server. But now have a problem when trying to run mysql, I get:-
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
When trying to downgrade mysql-server I saw that there are dependency problems between the various modules (but can't recall which). But whichever route I truied the results are always the same.
Thought about trying XAMPP but I note that even has it's problems, is there any way I can get a lamp set up on FC14, or must I give it up as a bad job.
Howver, just been trying to again to fix the problems with downgrading mysql and get:-

Requires: mysql(x86-32) = 5.1.55-1.fc14

I think this goes here, but I'm not sure. I decided that XAMPP had been troublesome enough. MySQL never worked. So I decided to instal the LAMP stack offered by YaST. I went about installing it thinking that it would all work. But it seems that I was wrong. So I try to start mysql, and here's what I get:

i am using liferay5.2(mysql included in the download pack) on fedora. while liferay is working fine but i cannot connect to mysql.i am getting the error

I am trying to get mysql to start at boot without any success.
The mysqld scripts works fine when run from the command line, but it does not work when i use the links created by chkconfig. I checked the boot.log and found that mysql starts but then it stops or gets shutdown. This is the log message:
Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /data/mysql [ OK ]
Starting cups: [ OK ]
STOPPING server from pid file /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid
starting DenyHosts: /usr/bin/denyhosts.py --daemon --config=/usr/share/denyho

The same init script works fine in Ubuntu.

I'm running a linux cloud server with the following config
1.2ghz Processor allocation
752MB Ram
The site loads slow and clicking a link almost freezes the page for a second. Also, the page loads could be much faster. We've been running mysqltuner and have pretty much optimized all slow queries. Is there anything we can do to fine tune the server for faster and more responsive?

I been trying to load one applcation is using .NET Framework 2.0. I went to Mircosoft to get the .NET 2.0 and attempting to install it but got a error. I look it up in the internet. Many topic point out that I have to install Mono to get it to work. I went to Ubuntu Software Center to get Mono, only one that I am unsure of is "MonoDevelop". But i installed it anyway and it still not helping. So I went to google to find info on how to install Mono on my Karmic. Found this, [URL] They point out that Ubuntu do have Mono pre-installed but they are using the old version, So I have to update it. By following those terminal command to get Mono installed. Then I got to the end and it said to check if Mono is installed. It comfirmed that it is there. So I went to install NET. 2.0, it still having error to install. I check what the error signature, it said something about Visual Studio setup.exe
I thought to try to open the applcation that is using .NET 2.0, it still have error. How I able to get it to work?

I heared that there is an application for ubuntu that can run .net application under ubuntu... They told me to use mono. Since, wine cannot run .net application, it only can run .exe files....
I did installed mono using this tutorial in this site[URL] and I did installed mono utilities from synaptic. but, I don't know how to run the application using mono !! I tried to click the right mouse and run it with it. but I didn't see mono from the list. also, I tried to search for it from the application & I didn't find it. Maybe its just a setting and cannot run it like an application... If that its right, how can I run the application then ??
Note: I'm running under ubuntu 10.04 64bit, and i'm trying to run subtitle workshop under ubuntu. It requires the .Net framework 2.0. When I run it under wine, it tolds me that it needs .net framework to run...

I have developed a web application written in c# I'm using:

Mod Mono (1.9)
DB server: MySql
Some Configuration parameters:

When the site receives more than 50 simultaneous connections, it becomes unreachable even thought Apache seems to work. I attach:
