How can I change compiz, so that the expose effect that happens when I hover my mouse on the up right corner will go somewhere else (up left corner).
I know it sounds easy but I've googled it and found nothing
on FC15 is it possible to change (as compiz) the mouse top corner behaviour?I would like to obtain the full windows list moving the mouse on top right corner..exist any extension that allow the userelect specific corner or is it possible to tell him on xml file configuration?

I set it up in the first install with my dad's name, but now I'm using the laptop so I want it to display my name. I managed to delete his profile and make a new one with my name, but the top bar still displays his name.
I want to change it from Guy (my dad) to Mike (yours truly)
I'm running Ubuntu 9.04.
How can I change the window focus mode in compiz in F14? I prefer point focus rather than click focus, but the 'system -> preferences -> windows' cannot run in compiz environment.
Also, can I save the position of the terminal in compiz? I don't want to adjust the terminal positions manually after each logging in.
I had issues with changing the pointer when compiz was active in ubuntu 10.10. it would not change when on the desktop, only when hovering over a window.I solved this issue by doing the following:
Hit alt f2 and enter-> gconf-editor
Then goto-> /->apps->compiz->general->allscreens->options
Then in "cursor_themes" type in the name of the pointer theme(Eg. DMZ-White)
This should resolve the issue with compiz.I am not going to go over that here.Oh yea don't forget to logout/login or press ALT F2 and enter compiz - -replace to refresh the pointer...
is there a way to have gnome open in the upper right or left corner instead of the lower left corner when i start it?

It seems to have included an effect similar to OS Xs active corners and expose where the top right corner gives me an overview of every window. I have ccsm installed and tried to disable every feature enabled but it doesn't seem to come from there.

1. It shows root@localhost kostia, but during the installation of Fedora 13 DVD x86 I renamed localhost.localdomain into baikal as my laptop name. Very strange error. On static PC I used amour name and it works without localhost.
2. Above you can see my list of initial cards. I wish to know where is it my ethernet card? The bug #2 is that after Fedora was installed, I can't see any connections in my Network Manager. So I created Wired one myself. After that I still can't see the icon in the top-right corner to restart the connection as usually we may do that. So, what is wrong? How to make my laptop going to the Internet.
I just installed Fedora and all works great but i have a little problem. When I move the mouse to the right bottom corner, the cursor freeze a couple of seconds, and after that any problems. But every time i move the mouse cursor to that corner, the same freeze.I try disabling the desktop effects but nothing change, always the same problem

View 1 Replies View RelatedI finally got around to installing Fedora 15 on my HTPC. I noticed that the mouse cursor starts in the upper left corner of the screen as soon as the login screen appears. This means that after login, if I only used the keyboard so far, the Gnome Shell overlay starts immediately.This is at most an interesting quirk until I try to set XMBC to automatically launch. Now I have to press <Esc> or move the mouse to de-activate the overlay before I can use the program.Is this mouse cursor thing intended behaviour, is there some software fix, or is it a hardware quirk? View 2 Replies View RelatedI might get harassed for making this windows/linux comparison, but i'm seriously wondering why i cant find any application that can display a quick little notification on the bottom right hand corner of my screen whenever there's some intrusion attempt.
For example, sometimes I can see that in my /etc/logs/secure (or something like that) there's someone who's trying to attempt to connect to me using random usernames/passwords from different servers. The only time I know this has happened is when i actually open the file with gedit. Is there anything like (norton for windows) that can display little notifications (with or without eye candy)??
I have re-installed Fedora 3 times, each time, after a little while of use, when I am botting it up, it loads up, and before the login screen appears, the screen just goes black, and I end up with just a black screen and a white line in the top left corner flashing, thus resulting in me not being able to log in. attempted to "install it to a USB memory stick". I am having a hard time recreating the actual steps that he took. boot the computer and "Missing Operating System" message in upper left corner of screen. Not good, I think. I insert the Max OS X install disk and boot holding the "c" key so the system boots from the CD. Instead of installing, there is a disk utility tool from the pull-down. It shows the system hard-drive and the CD/DVD drive. So far so good. When I look closer at the hard drive, there appears to be a single Linux partitiion. No Mac OS partition. I know enough about computers to know that if the Mac OS disk partition is not visible, there' s probably no easy way to retrieve the 1.5 years worth of family pictures, applications, website I had built, etc. My "best guess" is that somewhere along the way, when he tried to install Fedora to the USB memory stick, that he inadvertantly attempted to install it to the hard drive. best route to recovery?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have Fedora 10 installed. I've just made an update of my system. Things that were updated were a new kernel version with devel and also something with NVIDIA (which is my video card).
After restart of my system, compiz fusion no longer works.
I have a NVIDIA-Linux-x86-177.82-pkg1.run -file to manually install the NVIDIA-driver so the advanced features of Compiz can be utilized.
After install, the bootup screen tells me that loading the NVIDIA driver has failed. I also receive a WARNING-message.
