I have tried and tried to install this program. I end up in dependency hell if I go one way, then if I go the other it can't find files...
I have tried searching google, the forums and everything else I can think of, but all attempts at a solution and I can't find one that works.
All online walkthroughs don't work either.
I am trying to get Gnome's Mail Notification to work with Yahoo! Mail.
I realized that Scrabble on Facebook is blocked to users outside of the US and Canada. Can someone help me hack this so I can play outside of the US.

View 9 Replies View Relatedrunning kubuntu 9.10 karmic koala, and my sound settings -at first glance- seem to be in order... a strange thing is occurring, is my machine haunted? my sound works when:
a. the machine boots up
b. files are played in dragon player
c. the machine shuts down
my sound does not work when:
1. i try to play streaming flash videos online (e.g. videos videos show the image but no sound will play)
2. the same goes for vlc media player: images yes, sound no.
3. i use skype *edit: additional problem*
i made no changes, that i know of, to my machine before this started happening. one day everything was working fine and i turned off my machine to go to sleep. the next day, i turn on my machine, and surprise, the sound doesn't work in some instances.
When i got to a site such as You Tube of South Park Studios the vidio playes fine but the pause, play , fullscreen ect... Buttons dont work unless it click on them multiple times!

I downloaded it in rpm format but when in tried to install it I got a message that I needed to install two more packages (nss-mdsn and wine-common). I installed nss-mdsn but when I tried to install wine-common I got a message that I have to install wine core for it and when I tried to install wine-core. I got a message to install wine-common first and I tried to install both of them at the same time but still it didn't work. I cant install it online with yum because of a few other problems.

I use Last.fm on my Xbox all the time and I use this application to stream music online all the time in windows. View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got fedora 13 today and put it on a slightly older computer to mess around with it, and two things I realized.
1. I installed Flash player through a program called easyLiving, but when i play flash games online like on armorgames, everything will play fine, but sound will play about 2 seconds late with actions.
2. I can't play .wmv files from my MP3 player, I found some codes online and installed them, but now it just looks like I have 3 different audio players in mozilla and I'm not sure which kind to enable, and I still can't play .wmv movies. (I actually believe that problem 1 is unrelated, because I noticed it before I started downloading different audio players.)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed Fedora 12 on my HP a430n PC.I used to run Fedora 10, then moved to Linux Mint 7, then to Ubuntu 9.10 and now I am back to Fedora because I want to become more adept with manual package installation and adding repos.When I ran Fedora 12 immediately after then install, before running yum update PackageKit or the software update, it would use my wireless adapter (Netgear WG111v2) and connect to and stay connected to a network just fine. No hiccups.After running the updates and restarting the computer, the wlan won't stay connected for longer than 20 seconds, which is frustrating when trying to install mp3 codecs.
This seems to be a bug in the latest driver update for the WG111v2, but I might be wrong. Anyone have a fix or a way to revert back to the initial driver (I don't know what the original wireless driver was called).

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have the following problem with sendmail on F14 (had the same on F13 already):
I have a network setup using bridging which is controlled through traditional ifup/ifdown (because NetworkManager can't handle bridging). My sendmail configuration differs from the Fedora default only by having a SMART_HOST relay. The queueing interval in /etc/sysconfig/sendmail is the default (1h).
When my network connection is up, sendmail normally sends email through the relay immediately. Sometimes I have to interrupt the connection for a few minutes. When my network connection is down, sendmail starts queueing email (OK this far). When the network connection comes back up, I'd expect sendmail to restart sending mail through the relay again. But sometimes, that doesn't happen. Instead, sendmail keeps queueing my mail infinitely (I have seen it happen for several days) until I finally notice that my email isn't received, and run sendmail -q by hand (by that time, my boss is already angry that I'm not responding to his email). In that state, even new mail is queued rather than forwarded by sendmail. It appears that the only way to stop that behavior is to restart the sendmail service.
In Ubuntu I can easily transfer packages from offline machine into online machine using APTonCD feature. In fedora ,Is there anything similar by which I can transfer my packages of online machine into the offline machine

View 14 Replies View RelatedI can watch dvds and videos (avi, mpg, etc) with mplayer with no problem (indicating to me that the video drivers are working properly). However, any "online" videos (....., etc) are CRAZY choppy. Probably about 1 fps. It is like this with both chrome and firefox.
View 10 Replies View RelatedWhat used to work flawlessly in F14 now does not work in F15. I have done a fresh installation of F15 and all seemed to go well other than a few minor tweaks. In F14 I had an /etc/fstab file that worked well but in F15 does not work. I have 3 external USB drives, mybook, black & StoreIt. With F14 my fstab worked very well and booted regardless of weather or not any particular drive was connected at any given time. Typically I have the mybook and black connected at home and the StoreIt connected at work, but regardless it would boot and work without any problems.
