CentOS 5 Networking :: Find A Driver For Wireless Card (Atheros AR928X)?

I'm trying to find a driver for my wireless card (Atheros AR928X) and I think it's ath9k what I need. As far as I know there isn't a linux driver for it, so I installed ndiswrapper to use a windows driver instead. The problem is that when I type modprobe ndiswrapper I get "bash: modprobe: command not found" (even as root). I know I'm missing something about modprobe, but I can't find any help on google. Anyway, I installed ndisgtk next, because I thought it would be easier, but when I go to System> Administration> Windows Wireless Drivers I get a message "Unknown error".Do you have any ideas on how I'll make ndiswrapper work?
I just downloaded Ubuntu Studio on my laptop and I can't get the wireless to work. I think it's because I need a driver; the Atheros AR928x. Whatever the driver is, it works with the pretty unpopular Musix distribution, because wireless worked instantly when I got that. I switched because it was old and slow.
I am using ubuntu 9.10. Kernel version is 2.6.31-14-generic. I couldnt find driver for Atheros wireless card which shows in 'lspci' 0c:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR928X Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01)
I am unable to find Atheros AR8132 PCI-E Ethernet Controller driver for CentOS which is installed on my netbook.
I contacted DELL to provide me the driver and they said that they do not support Linux on netbook and I have to arrange it myself.
I told them that I don't need help in installing I just need the driver file to which they said that they don't have driver for Linux.
NIC is getting detected and works fine on the same netbook (Am dual booting Windows7/CentOS) with Windows7
When I type: ls -l /dev/ it does not show up eth0. Same result with ifconfig. When I type lspci | grep net it does show up something like Atheros Communications AR8132 L1 PCI Gigabit .
I have CentOS 5.5 and I can't install the driver for the Atheros AR5006X Wireless.The current state of my CentOS is:

installing my wireless card Atheros AR9285.I have tried to get it working with both compat wireless - Ath9k driver but I dont know exactly how to do.I have also tried to get it to work with ndiswrapper, but it is really tricky because nothing is available in centos like precompiled ndiswrapper.I used to work with Arch Linux so everything in Centos is totally new to me and I don�t understand a thing:I need to get it to work as soon as possible.What I have read the should go to just "activate" the ath9k driver with my card and it would work,
I just installed OpenSuSE 11.3 x86_64, and as I'm new to OpenSuSE I can't get my wireless to work. I believe it should work because it worked out of the box in Ubuntu (9.10 and 10.04)
At first I didn't see any network icon in the notification area, but after some googling figured out to enable NetworkManager instead of ifup. Now there is an icon, and clicking it I can see wireless networks, but when I try to connect it tries for a while, then seems to give up.
I was doing some testing on my CR-48 notebook, which seemed to be very slow wirelessly when running Ubuntu 11.04. I cracked it open and decided to swap out the wireless cards with an Intel Wifi Link 1000 card I had in my other laptop, which is a Dell Latitude. I then began to do some speed testing, using speedtest.net. I tested each laptop 5 times for each card, so I did 20 tests total.

The results I think speak for themselves. While the Atheros card no doubt *works*, it doesn't work as efficiently as the Intel card I tried. I also noticed if I shut off my wireless security, my speeds drastically improved on the Atheros card. On my router (WRT54G) I used both mixed mode, G-only mode, WPA, WPA2 and a mixture of TKIP, AES, and TKIP+AES encryption. My results were the same across the board unless I took off security.

I just loaded the Ubuntu maverick AMD64 beta and to my regret I see that the wireless adapter isn't functioning, even after applying updates through wired connection.
Terminal lspci -v command tells me that the network adapter is present as Atheros AR928X Wireless Network Adapter on PCI-E - rev 01 and that the ath9k module is being used by the kernel.
I am trying to clone a working Centos 5.4 system onto a new box with a ASUS P5KPL-CM motherboard. I have done so by plugging in a Realtec lan card - but can't get the motherboard lan working. Googling tells me the motherboard has a Atheros L1E lan chip - but I have installed several kmod drivers from ELREPO - but still can't get the on-board lan working. So far I have installed:
kmod-atl1e kmod-atl1
I have just installed these with yum - but no new hardware appears in the network gui dialogue. Am I missing some step here - or is there another driver I should be looking for.
I have a AR928X wireless card and everything I have tried has failed. The default driver ath9k scans and connects to my router but cant connect to any site or ping anything , same with the madwifi driver lspci prints 02:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. I am using asus p5ld2-x/1333 motherboard,I installed the centos ,Centos saw other drivers but didn't see ethernet card.I am not connection the internet.
This morning I installed Fedora 14 on my laptop. During the setup, I was able to configure the wireless connection and use it to install additional software from the FreshRPMs and Livna repos. When the install was completed, I was surprised to find the wireless not working. When I click on the NetworkManager icon at the bottom right corner, I see "Wireless Networks" Under that it says "device not ready" and it is greyed out so it cannot be click on.

I've installed it no problems on my desktop and I really love it. Now I'm trying to install it on my Satellite and I'm having a couple of problems. When trying to connect to my wireless network, I can see my network, but it will just keep asking me for my WEP. I've confirmed that there is nothing wrong with the network or the password I've provided. Sometimes when I boot up, the network manager just says that the wireless networks are disconnected and can't find any. The wired connection always works just fine.
I want to load Atheros wireless card to ubuntu linux OS having kernel 2.6.32.21. I have loaded the atheros driver and I observed the following log messages when card was inserted.

My suspect was the driver was 2.6.35.1 kernel based i may need to update my kernel, but i have other laptop having 2.6.32-21 kernel and this card works fine.
I recently switched from Windows XP to a clean install Ubuntu Karmic Koala 9.10 but it seems to be quite a problem to get the wifi up and running. In Windows the nearby network all appeared in network connections but the same section in Ubuntu is empty. So I decided to go with the ndiswrapper guide to solve the problem with an unclaimed driver. After an entire day messing with my computer I'm still not close... Below follows excerpts taken from the Ndiswrapper guide with posted results from my computer. "ndiswrapper won't work until it thinks that your Windows drivers have been properly installed and that they are the appropriate ones for your wireless card. You can run the command: ndiswrapper -l"

It seems like the network is disabled or unclaimed or both. What to do? I'm stuck after spending an entire day trying to install the wifi. I had no problems in Windows XP but it seems to be quite impossible in Ubuntu.
Ok, so I upgraded my acer aspire one to the new Ubuntu 10, and at first everything was working fine, except the audio. Now, for some reason, my wireless and ethernet ports have died. I can't get online by either method. I can do ifconfig <device> up and it will show up if i do iwconfig or ifconfig, but the wireless isn't associated with the AP. Currently I'm trying to load some drivers for my atheros card, and we'll see how that works outReally I was wondering, how come the modules don't load at boot time, and how can I fix this? I have Acer Aspire 4740 laptop with Atheros ar928x wireless. My wireless is very slow, unstable. Wireless card still works well and fast in Windows (dual booting). After searching I see that there are many Ubuntu users have the same problem in Ubuntu 11.04 with this card.
I'm trying to find out what is the difference between wifi0 and ath0 (atheros wifi card) in terms of packet counters shown in proc/net/dev pseudofile. The fact is that wifi0 and ath0 packet counters are different. I've read that wifi0 refers to the physical device and ath0 refers to virtual device over wifi0, so, as far as I know, packets counters in both devices should be the same, isn't it? Another annoying question for me is that ath0 doesn't show any erroneous packets, while wifi0 does.
I am trying to get my wireless card working in master mode. I am running Jaunty server 2.6.28-11 x86_64. I have compiled hostapd with nl80211 enabled. The interface is using ath9k. I have tried to compile compat-wireless with this patch. However IEEE80211_IF_TYPE_AP was undefined along with IEEE80211_IF_TYPE_VLAN. In addition the latest version of compat-wireless needs to be patched for kernels < 2.6.31 with this. However when using this patch IRQ_WAKE_THREAD is still undefined.

I can not install a driver for device EDUP WU2070. I have a disk with a driver for linux general. I don't know how to compile a makefile. My OS 11.3v doesn't see a device. But when I run in Live CD mode all drivers install automatically and my WI-FI device work properly.
I have a Acer Revo R3610 nettop on which I installed oS11.3. It has an Atheros AR5001 wireless network adaptor.I'm getting very bad latency and throughput on with this card. In comparison my Thinkpad with Intel card achieves at least 10 times the throughput from the same location. Also when I boot my wifi will come up authenticate and then a few seconds later disconnect and reconnect. I've tried updating the kernel to 2.6.35 as one of the fixes was to improve the performance of the ath5k driver. I'm using wpa2 authentication.
Is there anything else I paste that will help determine the cause of the bad throughput. Browsing the web or copying files across the network is bordering unusable.
I have a PCCHIPS P47G motherboard, with a Atheros AR8112 ethernet interface (took me a while to even find that out!). I can not find a driver for that interface! I've Googled around for drivers and come up with nothing.
