I have installed the latest version of flash player and watching videos on ..... and other live streaming pages should work, but when i select a video it keeps loading with out playing the video or showing any progress in the loading bar. and i dont have any problems with my internet connection

However, it works 100% when running from the live cd.
Can i install/copy the driver from livecd to hard drive, or is there another soultion for this?
I was watching videos with audio literally minutes ago, and all of the sudden my laptop has absolutely no sound. I have no idea what could have caused it. I just ran a quick update and restarted, didn't fix it. I also went under Preferences > Sound > Hardware and did a speaker test, no sound. What could have possibly happened? Is this a common issue? Is my integrated audio burnt out or something? (No, I don't have mute on.)

However when trying to install it via
sudo apt-get install adobe-flashplugin
I get the msg of "package not available, but is referred to by another package". Tried to get it through APT and get "adobe-flashplugin" is virtual. Also tried deb and get this error msg "Error: Wrong architecture 'i386'.
Running Lucid Server with desktop installed as well on BenQ Joybook S42 Laptop.
Ok I installed VLC & greasemonkey on YDL 6.2. It works like a charm and I can watch ..... videos in full or small screen. It doesn't work for any other sites though. How can I make it work for all flash videos. I installed something else that searches for scripts but no matter how many I add it won't work for any sites flash videos but ...... I want to be able to play all flash videos. Also since the ps3 xmb is only good for watching flash videos for any site. What does it use? Something has to work with the IDM cell processors. I was wondering if we could run whatever the ps3 xmb uses to play flash on ydl?

One of the commands had the sideways wavy line in it, but I do not have that key on my Toshiba L-455 Satellite laptop. The script creates a .tgz in my tmp folder and I install it. After I install it I close out of my browser and re-open to check flash and every website I goto tells me flash is not installed I am a little confoobared with this?

View 1 Replies View Relatedrunning kubuntu 9.10 karmic koala, and my sound settings -at first glance- seem to be in order... a strange thing is occurring, is my machine haunted? my sound works when:
a. the machine boots up
b. files are played in dragon player
c. the machine shuts down
my sound does not work when:
1. i try to play streaming flash videos online (e.g. videos videos show the image but no sound will play)
2. the same goes for vlc media player: images yes, sound no.
3. i use skype *edit: additional problem*
i made no changes, that i know of, to my machine before this started happening. one day everything was working fine and i turned off my machine to go to sleep. the next day, i turn on my machine, and surprise, the sound doesn't work in some instances.
I've a problem while I'm doing some stuff like watching videos, or playing games with wine or **** like that, my PC starts to lagg or I cant play... Because,when i do that things my CPU usage begins to fly (100%),and then is when I ask myself:

I have successfully installed the wireless drivers and graphics card and have them both up and running. But I'm having trouble with the sound card. Specifically, it appears to be installed but I cant get any sound or any devices related to sound (speakers, volume control, alsamixer) to work at all.

I have been trying to get Adobe flash player to work for sometime now. I have got it to work in Kubuntu, Xubuntu and OZOS but nogo for Ubuntu. Some have said that should look in the repository only to find out that the repository would correctly be named the software center and that it has no files named flash or adobe. I installed flash from adobe directly but it did not work. I am using 32bit Ubuntu.

I want to type foreign characters in SharedTalk, a language exchange website which unfortunately runs entirely on Flash, but pressing ctrl-space to activate IBus does nothing and I can only type in Latin characters.
Or if it's possible by using something other than ibus, I'd also be interested.
