Ubuntu :: Adobe Flash Player Will Not Work - No Files In Repo
Jan 6, 2010
I have been trying to get Adobe flash player to work for sometime now. I have got it to work in Kubuntu, Xubuntu and OZOS but nogo for Ubuntu. Some have said that should look in the repository only to find out that the repository would correctly be named the software center and that it has no files named flash or adobe. I installed flash from adobe directly but it did not work. I am using 32bit Ubuntu.
how to get IBus input methods to work in Adobe Flash Player? I want to type foreign characters in SharedTalk, a language exchange website which unfortunately runs entirely on Flash, but pressing ctrl-space to activate IBus does nothing and I can only type in Latin characters.
Or if it's possible by using something other than ibus, I'd also be interested.
I did a search but I can only find threads like [URL]this which refer to older Flash versions and claim that it's fixed now.
I just installed Adobe Flash Player 10 and it says it's installed, when I go to firefox and Epiphany it still has flash player 9, Ive quited the browsers and everything Ive uninstalled/reinstalled still no luck.
I use slack 13.1 64 bits on my intel i7 machine. That is I can't find a flash-player plugin that works on all browsers. The firefox crashes on open. The release of adobe 64 bits plugin simply doesn't work on any browser. I use slack 13.1 64 plus kde. Anyone knows some that works?
I'm using the Mozilla version (tar.gz) of FF 3.5.5 and I'm using the Adobe Repo to install Flash 10. Everytime I go to a Flash site (....., Hulu, Amazon VOD) the browser crashes. If I use the Fedora Repo version of FF (also 3.5.5) then the crashing is much less frequent, although it does still happen. I tried making a symbolic link from the flash-plugin directory under /usr/lib/flash-plugin into the /home/user/firefox/plugins directory, but still no dice. How do I get Flash to behave properly with my Mozilla version of FF 3.5.5...any tips?
I'm an happy new user of Ubuntu 11.04, and I wasn't able to get Adobe Flash Player 10.XXX.normally released for Ubuntu versions up to 10.04. Anybody can help this newcomer to linux world?

i am running ubuntu 10.04 i installed ubuntu restricted extras, and i went on videos. although i can view the video, i can't click on pause, the volume controls, or seek through the video, or put it into fullscreen mode. i went into the software center and searched "adobe flash player", and it came up with adobe flash plugin 10. it doesn't have an "install" button on it, so i double-clicked it, and it said " sorry, 'adobe flash plugin 10' is not available for this type of computer (amd64)."
I have a Ubuntu(64-bit) installed on my PC. I am new to Linx and as that there are several versions of adobe flash player (such as YUM, .rpm, .deb) available for 64-bit Linux. I want to know that which version is suitable for 64 bit Ubuntu so my browser wiould be able to run the ..... videos.

I am on Linux Mint, and I can't figure out how to install Adobe Flash Player. When I tried typing the following, sudo apt-get Install flashplayerplugin-nonfree..It says that everything was installed, but when I go to ..... and other video sites, the flash player won't work.
Does anyone know the correct procedure for upgrading Adobe Flash Player. I just installed Linux Mint Debian and noticed that my flash plugin is the old Shockwave Flash.
I've tried downloading the latest Flash Player from adobe. I unzipped it, and moved libflashplayer.so to where I thought the plugin directory was.
My main problem is that I don't know where to look for the plugin file. I tried /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins but as much as I played with the 'libflashplayer.so' file there, I could neither remove the plugin nor upgrade it. I've also tried the /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree directory but once again, I was unable to affect the plugin.
I can't import the key, can anyone tell me why or what i'm doing wrong? I'm trying to install Adobe Flash Player and am trying to follow the instructions below.[URL]...
I installed Fedora 13. It seems, i can't use Adobe flash player, although i have install it. I cant look at movies from dvd and it seems the Empathy also don-t work. It shows i am available, but don't sows me my contacts. I want to use msn messenger.
I installed the player from both the Add/Remove Applications and downloading with install when asked by Firefox, but neither option works. It shows as installed but Firefox keeps asking me to install it whenever it needs it.
Just a little question about installing the Adobe Flash Player. I downloaded the Flash Player library in tar.gz format directly from Adobe. I want to install it in the default plug-in directory for Opera, which is /usr/lib/opera/plugins. When I try to copy the file, I get an error saying that I do not have the sufficient permissions to copy a file to that directory. Does anyone know how to copy the file using the command line, using the SUDO command?
i've just installed ubuntu and loving it so far. i've just tried to access videos and have been prompted to install adobe flash player - which i am finding impossible, do i download the apt or .deb file, i've tried both and i just dont understand how it works.

When using anything that involves flash on google chrome, often the flash player crashes going black with an unhappy jigsaw piece inside. it also struggles at handling multiple tasks in different tabs. i know that adobe flash player is not designed for ubuntu, and will not run at optimum level, but i would like to know if anyone has done or knows anything that will make it more stable/quick.

I am using ubuntu 10.10, I am trying to get adobe flash plugin to install and cannot get it installed tried from adobe.com took me to software center and says available from the "maverick-partner" source then clickable link use this source. That don't work. How do I get Adobe Flash Player installed in Debian 6.0.0 (Squeeze?) I went to a couple of sites and tried typing into terminal what they suggested but to no avail. One of the commands had the sideways wavy line in it, but I do not have that key on my Toshiba L-455 Satellite laptop. Could anyone please asist me in getting Adobe Flash Player or the plug in installed.
