what to do to get flash player to work in opera 11 even though flash player works in firefox and at the macromedia website shows that player has been installed? But when I go to other sites that requires flash player, it tells me to get flash player.
View 7 RepliesJust a little question about installing the Adobe Flash Player. I downloaded the Flash Player library in tar.gz format directly from Adobe. I want to install it in the default plug-in directory for Opera, which is /usr/lib/opera/plugins. When I try to copy the file, I get an error saying that I do not have the sufficient permissions to copy a file to that directory. Does anyone know how to copy the file using the command line, using the SUDO command?

after I upgraded from Lucid to Natty, Flash doesn't work in Opera any more. In Firefox I have no problems.
As suggested in another thread, I tried installing Flash-Aid for Firefox and reinstalled Flash with this extension, but no luck. I also tried purging and reinstalling Opera:
sudo apt-get purge opera
sudo apt-get install opera
No luck.
I've tried adobe flash in a .tar.gz and every other format threw there site but nothing works.

Some have said that should look in the repository only to find out that the repository would correctly be named the software center and that it has no files named flash or adobe. I installed flash from adobe directly but it did not work. I am using 32bit Ubuntu.

The Flash update reflects properly in Firefox and Google Chrome, but unfortunately it does not show up properly in Opera. It shows that Opera has 10.0.45.2 as the flash version. Why is this not updating with the Opera and Flash updates?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was trying to install the flash-plugin rpm so that flash contents can be viewed from web pages. So I downloaded the following rpm from rpm.pbone.net:
flash-plugin-9.0.48.0-1. el3.rf.i386.rpm
This is the command I used to install it:

Now when I am viewing a web page I cannot see the flash contents. When I am running rpm -qa flash* to search if flash is installed or not, its giving the following error:

I tried removing the package and install it again, removing and installing with --replacepkgs option and I also tried to install it without removing which said that it is already installed.

Due to this I actually download every clip to a temp folder and play the file while it's being downloaded with mplayer. This works really nice. Flash is not to play a video. Does there exist a plugin for this for any browser? I tried google, but I can't find the right words to search for. Edit: I did find a plugin for playing wmp things, that is not what I'm asking for!

I just downloaded Opera, and I actually kind of like it and am thinking about making it my regular browser instead of Firefox. (I have version 10.10 by the way.) However, I can't check my Myspace account, because every time I sign in it tells me I need to enable Javascript to use the site. I have Javascript enabled in the site settings and global settings. Myspace worked fine until I randomly hit 'Mask as Firefox' for no real reason, and now it won't work, even though I have it set back to 'Identify as Opera,' the default setting.

I click on the file, select open with opera's bit torrent client, and the OK the next window and it does nothing.
Under gentoo after the last update, the opera window doesn't update after a few seconds of showing itself. I have to move the cursor over an icon or anything that changes appearance to make it update. This is very frustrating when in the middle of typing a URL, the window stops updating and I'm typing "blind". While playing flash/HTML5 movies this is also quite frustrating
This is under gentoo,KDE 4.6.5, mesa 7.10.3, opera 10.50. I disable compositing because performance is dreadful (Intel graphics) on my external screen, which I use most of the time. For now I've worked around the issue by changing the compositing backend from OpenGL to XRender (where the performance is acceptable), but I'd like to disable compositing altogether.
My theory involves the XDamage extension, but I have no idea about how to work from there.

1. clearing the cache and the cookies.
2. installing the correct plug-ins for my system.

it starts going on a go slow then crashing and a logo face comes on the screen. ive redone ubuntu and the flash player but its still happening its adobe 10, is they any other flash player that i can use. or is there some how i can pull a log to see whats happening. its doing my head in i was chatting to a fit bird on omegle and the frigging thing crashed.
